Okay, I'll admit, the title is a bit dramatic. I am not a fortuneteller, an oracle, a prophet, or a soothsayer [though, I occasionally have been known to give extraordinarily accurate guesses]; thus, I am not perfect in my assumptions about some-one's supposed political power.
The purpose of this article is to create a list consisting of the "biggest players" in the game. The people who run this joint. The people who use 50G like toilette paper. The Illuminati!
Alright, so they're not exactly the Illuminati... in real life they could be poor as dirt with an antenna which picks up on some lower form of the Internet with a slower access than dial up on a rainy day when somebody is on the phone - but on here, they are as rich as Croesus [some dude who was, supposedly, loaded] and hold the most influence over the game. This list is similar to Fortune Magazine's list of the top 500 companies in the U.S. or Maxim's Hot 100 - only not as sexy. So let's get to the list:

This list was mostly compiled before day 777 [election day / yesterday]. And, to borrow a phrase from Devan Kronos, "This article is considered EPIC." You have been warned!*

Summary:
The great American, Emerick. He is as famous for his antics and wit as he is for his presidency and political power. He was the POTUS who signed a peace treaty with the Portuguese and began reconquering the regions of the U.S. one by one. He is now an active member of the U.S. Government and has sat in just about every administration since the end of Presidency. Emerick is very much a part of the U.S. political scene; he often offers his unique and unconventional opinion on events in New World and seems to really appeal to newer players [and he's good friends with older ones]. I am sure some of you might have a problem with him being listed as number 7, but his recent inactivity and his shying away from politics shortly after he left the presidency make him not as prominent as he used to be - and still could be.

Summary:
What can be said about this somewhat quiet Phoenix supporter? He is on this list because he is notable for being the first player to reach level 24. He has also dealt over one million damage throughout his eLife . Euphonix is a true super-soldier and enjoys a certain level of fame within Phoenix and his home country of Portugal. Though he would likely downplay his influence in this eWorld, he has a very substantial following in his news paper and he appeals greatly to the masses. He is one of the oldest still active players and likely has many friends in high places - noted for working closely with several of the Portuguese presidents. He has refused multiple times to run for president of Portugal. He could easily be used as a mascot for Phoenix, but is quite independent and maintains a low profile, often giving only subtle hints of his current moods through neat, custom emoticons.

This citizen of Turkey is no doubt very wealthy and very well connected. Burakkocamis was one of the key builders of the Pakistani/Serbian Bridge to India. Though this player holds political prominence in this game, it is another Turkish player on this list who has even greater political and military power.

Summary:
As the President of Hungary, the proverbial head of Phoenix, he was responsible for overseeing the defense of the Heilongjiang and bring the initiative back to Phoenix in Asia. He was, until day 777 [yesterday!] arguably the most powerful Phoenix player in the game and the most powerful Hungarian politician since the time of Quicksilver. He wielded power of the most powerful "tanks" and biggest budget in the New World. He currently is president of the A KARD Party. Some Phoenix leaders have had a tendency of getting permabanned, but Feherlo has stuck around and will likely remain a powerful force in times to come.

He was [and probably still is] a big champion of the Bro-liance between the U.S. and Canada. In a time before the U.S. had joined EDEN he was able to rally the anti-PEACE forces around the world to aid in the U.S./Canadian cause. Current high ranking members on both sides of the EDEN / Phoenix struggle have voiced that they believe he is the best POTUS to date. With over 3000 subscribers to his news paper, he remains a powerful voice in American politics to this day.

He is crafty, vehemently anti-EDEN, and somewhat arrogant - but I guess the Supreme Commander of the forces of a huge, multinational alliance could get away with that. Oh, and he's probably one of the richest people in the game. As of this moment he has 112 medals.

Andrew McWilliams has held various other positions within the government and has sought to keep Romania strong - as well as keeping the country's strong alliances.

His wiki claims that he was president of the Philippines at some point - and that he is now mostly hated there. As to how true this is, I cannot be sure - it is Wiki. The current President of Brazil, Jazar, could also easily take Bunaly's place on this list of honorable mentions; however, he only recently took power and there have been questions of his "Brazilness" in his own country.

America's door to Asia was shut. But wait a tic, what's this? Dokomo then threatened the Phoenix Alliance that he would let the U.S. have Kyushu if they did not retreat from China/India [everyone had to leave, except Hungary]. Phoenix was stunned, as well as offended, and refused to cave to his demands. The U.S. was allowed into Asia and has ousted every Phoenix holding in China/India except for Heilongjiang. Dokomo's political influence is very clear, and he has changed the course of Erepublik history.

Analysis:
Alas, what can be taken from this list? The ramblings of an overly analytical madman? Perhaps. However, it is undeniable that these men have a certain level of influence. That brings me to something I would like to touch on - where the heck are the women on this list? [Or in the game for that matter?] There are female leaders of countries; and there are prominent female politicians, Vengaer of Poland comes to mind, as well as Congresswoman Rainy Sunday of the U.S., and Ines Schumacher of South Africa, but these women have failed to play as big of a role as the men in the game [YET!]. There is certainly the possibility that I am mistaken and have someone out of this list who is a female because I am unaware of their influence [or maybe, the genders of these high ranking players may not even really matter]. Surely there will come a time when women will have VERY prominent positions of power. As for now, Erepublik is chocked full with men. It is a strategy game, which no doubt initially will attract more men. So ladies! Get on the ball! Join up! Be active! Don't let the man [men] hold you down!

Another notable person missing from here is Jewitt. I started this article before the Woxan / Jewitt election. Though, he might under different circumstances qualify for this list. However, I feel his political support waning, as well as faith in him since the Heilongjiang [Hello Kitty] PR disaster. He has now be re-elected to a second term, one in which many high ranking U.S. citizens have spoken out against his actions and decisions. This will be a very interesting second term for him and the American people in these critical times.
There are also some very deserving people who may have earned a spot on this list, but were left out. Zoli of Hungary, Ond3L of Indonesia, Big Brother of Germany, Lieutenant Scheisskopf of the U.S., or Harrison Richardson of the U.S., et cetera, could also very well been placed on this list. But I was focused on, more or less, the "figureheads" and the tacticians behind many of the great moves of New World History. There are plenty of "powerful" people of Erepublik, but I sought to select those who are the most prominent and who really summarize the power structure of the world.
There is also something of a Phoenix bias in this list. Perhaps I took "know thy enemy" to heart. [The citizens of Phoenix countries may be my "enemies," but I respect them and recognize that it is basically necessary to have "foes" in this game in order for there to be excitement!] Or there is a preference among certain countries for a "strong man." In the real life late Roman Republic strong men were everywhere - Sulla, Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus [Pompey the Great], Gaius Julius Caesar, and Octavian [Augustus]. This could hold true in this simulation world. The wealthier, better trained, better connected citizens stand out. In the U.S., we like to pride ourselves on equality [not saying others don't], and that may be why we are not as unattached from our "elite". The most likely answer, and the simplest one, to the Phoenix prominence is that certain European Phoenix countries [i.e. Hungary, Serbia, et cetera] saw earlier baby-booms than the U.S. and this could contribute to the higher number of high level players in those countries than the EDEN countries.
These are the known and rather famous elites of the New World. What about the unknown ones? The ones who instigate PTOs; the invisible cabal of faceless players who own multiple companies and control our eWages. That list would be harder to compile. The level 20 club of players who dominate the newbies, the two-clickers, and the underpaid [aren't we all?]. They are the New World's unseen, but powerful players. Now I sound paranoid [but they exist!].
This list of powerful players is in no way permanent. It is possible that one day, readers, that one of you could end up on this list! Stay in the game! Work hard! Play hard! Don't stop believin'!

[Or in the game for that matter?] There are female leaders of countries; and there are prominent female politicians, Vengaer of Poland comes to mind, as well as Congresswoman Rainy Sunday of the U.S., and Ines Schumacher of South Africa, but these women have failed to play as big of a role as the men in the game [YET!]. There is certainly the possibility that I am mistaken and have someone out of this list who is a female because I am unaware of their influence [or maybe, the genders of these high ranking players may not even really matter]. Surely there will come a time when women will have VERY prominent positions of power. As for now, Erepublik is chocked full with men. It is a strategy game, which no doubt initially will attract more men. So ladies! Get on the ball! Join up! Be active! Don't let the man [men] hold you down!

Another notable person missing from here is Jewitt. I started this article before the Woxan / Jewitt election. Though, he might under different circumstances qualify for this list. However, I feel his political support waning, as well as faith in him since the Heilongjiang [Hello Kitty] PR disaster. He has now be re-elected to a second term, one in which many high ranking U.S. citizens have spoken out against his actions and decisions. This will be a very interesting second term for him and the American people in these critical times.
There are also some very deserving people who may have earned a spot on this list, but were left out. Zoli of Hungary, Ond3L of Indonesia, Big Brother of Germany, Lieutenant Scheisskopf of the U.S., or Harrison Richardson of the U.S., et cetera, could also very well been placed on this list. But I was focused on, more or less, the "figureheads" and the tacticians behind many of the great moves of New World History. There are plenty of "powerful" people of Erepublik, but I sought to select those who are the most prominent and who really summarize the power structure of the world.
There is also something of a Phoenix bias in this list. Perhaps I took "know thy enemy" to heart. [The citizens of Phoenix countries may be my "enemies," but I respect them and recognize that it is basically necessary to have "foes" in this game in order for there to be excitement!] Or there is a preference among certain countries for a "strong man." In the real life late Roman Republic strong men were everywhere - Sulla, Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus [Pompey the Great], Gaius Julius Caesar, and Octavian [Augustus]. This could hold true in this simulation world. The wealthier, better trained, better connected citizens stand out. In the U.S., we like to pride ourselves on equality [not saying others don't], and that may be why we are not as unattached from our "elite". The most likely answer, and the simplest one, to the Phoenix prominence is that certain European Phoenix countries [i.e. Hungary, Serbia, et cetera] saw earlier baby-booms than the U.S. and this could contribute to the higher number of high level players in those countries than the EDEN countries.
These are the known and rather famous elites of the New World. What about the unknown ones? The ones who instigate PTOs; the invisible cabal of faceless players who own multiple companies and control our eWages. That list would be harder to compile. The level 20 club of players who dominate the newbies, the two-clickers, and the underpaid [aren't we all?]. They are the New World's unseen, but powerful players. Now I sound paranoid [but they exist!].
This list of powerful players is in no way permanent. It is possible that one day, readers, that one of you could end up on this list! Stay in the game! Work hard! Play hard! Don't stop believin'!
Finally, I shall end with this:

DIO SHOULD BE NUMBER 1.LONG LIVE DIO BRANDO,THE GOD EMPEROR.If you dont know,dio was the emperor of pakistan.Back in beta pakistan was the most awesome country in erep.but beta came,it was crappy,buggy,everybody hated the trivia,and the pakistani economy just crashed,since 1k people cant work in 10 companies.So most of the pakis quit the game.I think glados is a formor paki,not sure.
