The Golden Rule
Let me guess... you expected this article to be something about doing unto others as you would have done to yourself? Wrong.
Now as to why I am writing this and where I thought of this, I was at work. I work at a printing company and out on our counter we have these notepads with sometimes "funny" quotes and sayings on them, and I was bored and going though them one day, and I saw one that made me think of eRepublik almost instantly.
"The Golden Rule - He who has the gold makes the rules"
And to be honest that is 100% true in the case of eRepublik. If the alliances of FORTIS and EDEN completely fail, or are even locked down with 1-2 regions left(each country) there would be no way to maintain a stable economy or gain enough gold to fight back. Let me go off on a sort of tangent for a moment.
Lets relate this to Star War(Old Ones) for a moment. The Empire(PEACE) control the entire Galaxy(eWorld), the Rebels(Not-PEACE) control worlds(Regions) too terrible to even be worth the Empire building a base on in the first place(Bad economy locations). The Rebellion(Not-PEACE) somehow gets enough resources(Guns/Tickets) and money(Gold) to fund a war against the empire.
Even if we could somehow gain enough gold to start a fight after we are left with little, how could we afford to fight it? We would not have enough to run tanks and they would have all our regions, and thus all our normal income. This game is nothing like rebellion, fiction or non-fiction nobody can succeed without a stable force of income. The rebels has "private investors" so to say, but with the amount of gold PEACE has and will keep gaining, there is no way in the world we could win.
Even if we had people inside PEACE to steal their gold, there is no way it would ever be enough as they would continue to gain gold and we would continue to lose it. If within the next few months, this war does not end, or it ends in their favor, all will be lost(Unless they add something new).

This game is not built for rebellion, its built for oppression, that is the only way victory can be sustained, and its how it will be sustained.

Up to April Atlantis controlled most of resources and was the opressor. PEACE fought hard to overturn the situation and now seems that it controls everything.
You can do the same. You need a controled baby boom - the game should be advertised with an invitation link from the Governement so when the people who join reach level 6 the state gets 5 GOLD for each player. With 1000 active players brought in through this method the USA could get 5000 GOLD.
You need a lider who understands game mechanics.
You are in this position because of your liders failed to understand game mechanics. Looking back you'll see that the advice I was giving you before the war started was good advice.
You had more GOLD then Indonesia and Hungary combined when the war started and yet you lost because you fail to understand game mechanics.
You failed because of your leader. What Benn Dover said in his deleted article:

Zoli: This is hillarious, I was looking for some info about their lottery some time ago but I couldn't find the forum topic.
So at the end turns out that two of US's very influential people were pure cheaters and the US where sheep to follow them
Dear Writer, you have short memory. ATLANTIS was created by the six most powerful countries of their time to control the weaker ones and the world. The creation of PEACE was a reaction to this and it was created by smaller countries and it was very weak until the Hungarian baby-boom.
But with time, the tide turned in our favour and now nothing can stop us. It would be nice to explain how the last few baby booms happened all in PEACE countries (Serbia, Russia, France).
Dear USA in this game you are the Empire, and we are the Rebels we are just around at the end of part VI where Darth Vader dies and the Death Star 2 got destroyed. Enjoy the end sequence.
@xstr: Actually I have no memory of that as I am post-formation of Atlantis, and I find the wiki dry and boring. Why take it out on people who didn't do you wrong? I have nothing against you besides the fact you are attacking us and a small few of your are annoying as heck, as I am sure some of us are to you.

Seing when you are born, i guess you were here for Uncle Sam's attack on Portugal for the LULZ.
You were here for the attack on Mexico.
You were here for the attack on Russia, when PEACE was busy figthing Romania.
You were here when Croatia started "killing Serbian babies". (thier words, not mine).
You were here when the RWs in Turkey started (yes, Turkey was occuping territoies, but it is still an attack on us).
You were here when the marines tried splitting the Neherlands-Belgium union in order to create a belgian puppet-state, and it cost us thousands of gold to stop that.
You were here when your miliaty tried a PTO in France.
You were here and voted for the same guys doing this over and over for months.
I only remember Russia, I dont recall the babies, I was apart of the Turkish Liberation actually, and later one. I didn't hear about Belgium, I still don't see the France thing as an actually attempt as we were not ordered to vote in the least. I didn't vote for Scrab or HR.
@xstr: Dude, how dense can you be? You control territories in several continents, you wiped out North Korea and Canada and you're in the process of wiping out Spain because they dared to stand up to you, while we are reduced to a few territories and are barely managing to survive. After all this, you consider us the "Empire"? Seriously? So, I guess you're the "Rebellion"? I don't know what Star Wars you saw but it certainly wasn't ours.

You (Atlantis) controlled Russia, Ukraine, Germany, you controlled almoust all of France, Hungary, Serbia. For short times, you contolled parts of Italy, Portugal, Mexico.
Even though i don't like the concept of good and evil in it (this is game afterall), in the Star Wars comparation we are the rebelion. An alliance formed out of many small nations, that over time have grown strong enough to take the figth back to the enemy.
Peter: Spain didn't "stand up" against us. They were helping ATLANTIS all the way in world domination and that made them our enemy in the same way as Canada, US, Romania, Croatia, Sweden and Finland.
You are getting your bottom kicked because you are on the above list, and you can be sure the rest will get some sooner or later.
BTW: Just compare the strategies of the two sides to understand:
All ATLANTIS states strategies are based on heavy tanking thats why you are in a big problem now that Spain lost the gold. Heavy tanking and high taxes so a small elite can spend the money on themselves. Compare it to PEACE strategies which are based on small but numerous hits and organisation of the damage on different battlefields. The member countries rely on each other more and more players are involved so there is a higher social cohesion on our side. This is more democratic in my opinion.
