The Future for Russia?
What will be be the future for Russia? Independence can be achieved, but what then?
Personally I don't know whether the natural resources we have received is a blessing or curse. If we get freedom will be swallowed by another capitalist empire? Or will other nations help and support us if we share our soil? Do we really want nearly every company in Erepublik to be built on our soil? If Russia does not have the people to fight we may need to consider opening our doors to other countries to let them use our natural resources.
What we could do is let the foreigners do what they want with our land as long as they don't sell their products to us and only let Russian Socialists work in our communes. This would mean that we would have strong Socialist economy and we would have a large defence from any other country with most of world using us as a company base.
I think that these natural resources could save Russia from any future oppression. If we didn't have them the size that we currently have would never be great enough to stop future invasions but maybe other countries would stop that so there companies would be safe.
It's a path that eRussia might have to take, but can we have Socialism with capitalists in our fields? I don't think we really have a choice unless we can conjure a large amount of people to become active citizens.
If we do have milt-national companies in our lands and workers from their countries living on our lands we would have to have some rules for them so that our economy and social state does evaporate like it has under Norwegian rule.
For me it would be hard to trust the huge capitalist countries that form Erepublik not to just take over our Russia and leave us with nothing just because we have been blessed with natural resources.

I may be American but even I don't like the norweigens that much, but......good article. Your plan might work, but you'll need help definatly mabey if you sent some messages of distress to large countries like America and Romania. We might be willing to help. But what do I know? I'm just a private.

Allow foreigners to take position as employees in our natural borders and produce the resources it needs to be transported back to their country. In return the other country gets what it needs and the economy can prosper in Russia like Pakistan. I would have to vote for a slight fee for the transfer of goods between countries just to balance out the financial equalities and offer well paying jobs.
Stay out of Communism for the time being, allow another form of government to rule and gradually build onto that. Sooner or later Russia can resurrect its Communistic parties and operations through a voting process.
All of these things have been discussed within the RRF Party and we are currently talking with various other eRepublik governments. In answer to your question, the future of Russia will involve super-bright rainbows and mountains of ice cream. There may also be unicorns and other fantastic creatures, but those will come later.

Why should Russia be entitled to ALL its former provinces? They lost the Great Patriotic War, so I think they should realize that Norway has legitimate territorial rights. While I support Russian independence, I refuse to allow the communists to have the whole cake, when several slices will fill them up.
I agree with Nevski. Let them get back a region or two, the rest is rightfully a part of Norway and should continue to be so.
I wouldn't say rightfully part of Norway. Russia was invaded at a moment when they could not fight back. Just like Finland. There's nothing righteous about that. It was pure opportunism, nothing else.

Thanks, Autokrator. While a controversial idea, I would rather see a new Russia consisting of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadzhikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and perhaps the Caucasus. This is what Norway should be trying to help establish, rather than fueling the erosion of its borders. Russia needs to accept that its former territory has been fully annexed and absorbed into Norway.
The Russian people were striped of their land when they didn't have the man-power to fight back against the Imperialist Forconin and his country of capitalists.

Russia may have been annexed, but they should gain back what rightfully belongs to them, those norwegien dogs took advantege of them! They did a german blitz that was to fast for them to have a chance to fight back. That is not what most people would call a "honorable" enemy. I don't believe that the new russia should be communist though, and that the new russia should be free. I think the first step they should do is taking back Moscow. With it the people of russia would gain hope back and push the wretched norweigens off there land. Let the Revelution begin!!

I could continue this argument, but it is pointless since our opinions are so opposite and definitive on the subject. So all that I have left to say is, as a citizen of Norway's far eastern city of Moscow, I will defend my nations territorial right, sovereignty, and on a personal level, my home.
Ironically I am sure this is how the Russian's feel, but since I joined Erepublik after the Great Patriotic War and have resided in Moscow since day 1, I know no different. So I look forward to the battle of Moscow.
Personally I think that Russia should just get rid of the Socialism/Communism and do what is best for the country and it's citizens, in the Netherlands we've got some kind of mix. We protect our Q2 grain territory, but we allow foreigners to start companies in the other regions.
Anyway, I wish Russia good luck if they're going to start a Resistance!

I'm pretty sure a MSAP administration of Sweden would support Russian independence by all means possible. Especially if it's socialist.

We'll I think, that if you're going to fight in a resistance, you'll need an army. Start thinking about that now, you already know that everyone on here is going to battle with you.(except a few) But if you can rally all the people of russia then you could kick them all the way back to norway. (but it's not suggested, it'd leave russia in a wreck)I might even come over to russia my self and kick the hell out of some of those norweigens.(I really dont like them) I can do some looking into this and calculate your odds of winning/loosing (this is probally going to be desently far off, depending on what norway does.)
This is my final comment. I just want to refresh the memory of those that refer to Norway as imperialists and dishonorable, that Russia was preparing to side itself with Indonesia, a nation that has stolen the sovereignty and independence from both Australia and South Africa one month before the Great Patriotic War. So is Russia a complete victim of cruel imperialism? I mean they thought it was fine to justify Indonesia's acts of opportunist behavior, yet when it happens to them they make a scene.
So think about this real carefully. Is Russia really a victim when they themselves were preparing to ally with imperialists?
