The Free British Press (Volume 1)
James Funchal
'Troops dispatched, the call to arms, no this is not Poland, Eygpt or Greece this is Britain at war, on our very own door steps'.
Today the 'on-going' suffering and destruction of the British people continued as Irish forces continue to Occupy the once nations of Scotland and Northern Ireland, the British Government in London however are in what can only be descriped as 'supportive' in their role in the deal which saw the Irish nations of Louth and Dublin handed over to British control in return for a resource bonus. However this has led to the anger of the British public as it is a growing sign that our Country can simply not even cope with its own affairs let alone the conflict's in Europe and America. We asked the Primeminister in London for an interview on this matter but have had no reply, 'sign of weakness?'
Does the Ministry Of Defence need to start taking this seriously?
The Ministry Of Defence must see that this is not a 'conflict' this is a full scale 'war', depsite the so-called 'peace' deal with Ireland this simply cannot last if the situation changes else where in Europe or America and Britain deploys else where we WILL be risking British soil some of which has already been lost. The Ministry Of Defence needs to ensure that either the deal is reversed and a soloution created or its either 'throw the cat out the bag' and launch a FULL SCALE military campaign to not only re-gain British territory but to 'neutrulise' the Irish as a whole.
In Other News...
The nation of Poland has seen several victories against the United States and her allies, this also saw fighting from British troops in a 'supportive role' alongside Poland and her allies.

... I'll just say it's this sort of talk that makes long-lasting peace with Ireland impossible. The second someone shows an offer of peace and the other side accepts, a bunch of people start saying it's the end of the world. This deal was a show of good faith on both sides and guess what? Ireland was constantly *wiping* us before the deal, together with other T/EDEN forces.
We go to war with Ireland over trivial reasons like these again and the only "neutralisation" happening will be our own.
The land swap is perfect as it gives us all a food bonus, something we wouldnt get otherwise. It was a deal created at a time when we had France, Canada and Ireland wiping us off the face of the eRepublik Earth, and considering ireland held all the cards i'd say that was bloody good of them.
Seriously people i know this is addictive to play but its not real life. It is a perfect deal for all parties concerned
But the point the paper is trying to get accross is why do we not attack a invade Ireland as whole, and please do not say it cannot be done becuase if Poland can change the face Europe I think we can invade an island. I am not saying the deal has helped past and present but for a country we are not exactly doing well are we, we all know had this been a real life situation this would have been swiftly dealt with. But the main importance is I can totally agree were your coming from on the matter.
But what is the "situation"? What "problem"? Why on Earth do we NEED to invade Ireland? It's pointless; instead of having our forces divided (and, by the way, if we'd invade Ireland, the USA and Canada would wipe us again, don't kid yourself about that) in this war, we're able to concentrate our efforts in helping our allies while still getting all the resource bonuses we want without having to fight for them. We invade and we'll just be causing more problems than we have for no reason.
Well one way or another you KNOW that either Ireland will attack us when our forces are deployed helping our allies or we will win back one of the countries in a guerilla resistance war...
Uhm... if that were the case? They would have done so over the past couple of months. Y'know, while our forces have constantly been fighting in France, South America, in Egyptian resistance wars...?
And we have had constant resistance wars both in the regions we gave and the ones we've received; mainly started by BH hunters. And when territories managed to get liberated (which was rare)? They were traded back as soon as the battles were over.
Another thing you're failing to realise is that if the Irish just wanted our regions, they would have never agreed to the deal in the first place; at the time it was made, the UK was wiped and had little chances of regaining a single region for every long, much less invade them. With the peace treaty, they gave us the breather we needed to push out the USA and Canada.
Ah ok I understand more now, but do you think Britain will ever rise up again? has there ever been a point were Britain has invaded large parts of the map?
Honestly, as far as I can remember, the UK's "golden age" was in the version just after eRep Beta, ages ago. World's changed a lot since then. After that we've done a few invasions into parts of Europe; then I remember fighting in Canada and going in a constant back-and-forth of invasions with Ireland. But more recently (I'd say over the past year), we've been struggling.
You are right about the UK being in trouble, though. We're a small country with few heavy-hitters compared to others.
To answer the first part: Maybe. We're recovering slightly from our most recent downfalls, but our problem is one of logistics and tactics. We need far more players (dedicated and active ones) and we have to scale what we're doing down to what we CAN do. Over the past months I've come back into the game, I've seen that a lot of our problems happen simply because we throw ourselves into fights not being ready to face a counter-attack. And we never consolidate our postition first, either.
Spot on mate and you should run for Congress Irv be cause you've got an intelligent outlook on the game.
I agree.
