The Field Is Set, May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

Day 1,776, 12:51 Published in USA USA by Azazel Romanov

Now we have an established candidate field, and it looks like all are qualified and ready to take lead of this country. Hannibal LA put up an official platform as well, but his ties to AFA and the actions of their congressmen continue to make his candidacy a threat. You can say a lot of words and sound convincing, but the actions have to reflect your stated intent.

Reading through the platforms, I consider John Largo and Henry Arundel to be the top two contenders. Like I've said earlier, I don't care who wins, so long as it is someone responsible at the helm. Both would make an excellent president and keep the car out of the ditch. I would like to make one extra note. By far the most appealing (intellectually) candidate is fingerguns, who is running as Henry Arundel's VP. It makes Henry's ticket a lot more interesting and dynamic, and creates a solid base (USWP + Feds) that is lacking from other tickets.

Overall, given the need for a unity candidate, this election still remains unique and unpredictable. It will be interesting to see further developments from the primaries and where we go from that point. I still have faith that the system will work out in the end and that we will see a unity candidate elected over AFA.

Personal Updates

Initially I said to myself that I didn't want to join a party because I fear it causes bias in political writing. Endorsing a candidate, wanting certain congressmen, or holding a particular political viewpoint are all impacted by your community. However, it becomes hard to seperate politcal identity from community. Given that I have acquainted myself with a certain community to a point where I can no longer act as a complete outsider, I have decided to join the Federalist Party for the current time being. Hopefully I can still maintain an unbiased viewpoint on political situations and continue to express that in my writing.
