World Keeps Turning (Mandatory listening)
Day 2292 of the New World
February 28, 2014

I must interrupt the stream of campaign articles.

They're sort of boring anyway, even when we try to make them interesting. They stay boring anyway. But don't worry I'll still pump mine out.

But too much is going on around here and I would normally be writing about it.

I'm no good at crawling out of my own skin. So tonight instead of campaigning, I just need to write.

I was having an email exchange with SoH nominee Evry tonight and she (protip for newbs: Evry's really a guy who everyone constantly just refers to as "she" and "her" and "she has a vagina" and that sort of thing. But she's a guy) anyway she was telling me about the AMP nomination process. I remembered that she was also in a pretty decently contested race too, which meant we sort of had something in common.

Then I was thinking, "you know, there have been a lot of kinda interesting and dramatic political goings on lately."

And then I was thinking, "you know, for all the way people talk about this game being shit and all... they're kind of wrong."

This game is not shit.

There are legitimate political dramas unfolding on a nearly constant basis. There are Party dynamics going on between 6 serious political Parties. Yes, AFA is still alive, and they are actually fighting for liberty from their RGR-stained history. It's a story worth following if anyone with half a newspaper feels so inclined. If I weren't running for President I'd be covering that story hard.

Anyway, there's the Speaker of the House election going on. Evry doesn't like to run for things she can't win. And TheWildCard has been handling himself like a seasoned professional. It's oldfag vs. newfag. It's awesome drama. Hell, if I weren't running for President of the eUSA, I'd be covering that story hard.

And by the way, the Presidential race is interesting. I can't exactly cover that either, you know, but if I were I'd be all making huge headlines out of about 5 or 6 different story lines I can think of just off the top of my head. In a game like this, some enterprising publisher is sure to make Media Mogul out of it. There's obviously plenty of votes to be had. Heck, I've added hundreds of new subscribers just in the last month because I've been active. People playing like to read the papers.

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, there's a metric shit ton (to quote a post in a very cool thread on the eUS Forums about Kemal the resident Harvard Econ Prof) of awesome things going on in this game right now. Come to think of it, the eUS Forum is another awesome thing going on for quite a while now, and it is also a rather decent source for things to write about. If I weren't so... you know... otherwise busy (and here I am not talking about campaigning, I'm talking about "getting busy"... as in with my wife) I'd be trawling those threads. Actually I just did and found at least 8 solid articles that could be written from the content there. Hmm. Surely someone will do that.

But I really just logged on tonight to write about Sirius.

You know, eUSA is in a new alliance.

Not that I've seen much writing about it or anything. So maybe you haven't heard. I don't know. But I know all about it and stuff, and the one thing I know is that we haven't been talking about it very much as a Nation. Hard to believe. (I just got a campaign idea.)

What do you think of Sirius, eUSA?

The world is gearing up for war. Do you know our Allies? Do you know their battle statistics? Do you know when their "prime time" is? I wonder if you've seen anyone publishing lists of our Allies' IRC supply rooms? Because anyone who would publish such a thing as that would probably get literally hundreds of votes. I'd probably do it but It's been another 10 minutes and my wife is ready for me again. But she can wait another minute. Because I am also thinking that if someone was really interested in doing a good job of publishing about Sirius, they'd also be finding out all about our allies' biggest tanks, their MU's... I bet there's lots to publish there.

Aw heck. I probably am not going to get much time to write tonight. I think I'll just go click the Fight button for a few minutes and maybe complain about how boring and dead and shit this game is.

I'm not even going to take the time to shove any pictures into my article tonight because what's the point, nobody reads this thing anyway.

..."Honey, I'm coming"...
