The Economist ~ May Day Protest and FREE TANKS

Day 1,623, 14:15 Published in Indonesia United Kingdom by Spite313

Dear friends,

Welcome to the Economist. The admins tried to censor my last article, and I heard they were really successful in that. Today I am writing to you from my hidden underground bunker somewhere in Belgrade, where the power of the wigs is faint. What is my topic today you might ask?

International Workers' Day (also known as May Day) is a celebration of the international labour movement and left-wing movements. It commonly sees organized street demonstrations and marches by working people and their labour unions throughout most of the world. May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries. It is also celebrated unofficially in many other countries.

May day is one of the most important days of the year for me. It represents a celebration of us all- the workers and producers of the world. Big countries move on small gears, and the fate of each of us is rested in the fate of all of us. We work together and achieve great things. We don’t let the rich and powerful trample us, we work together and collectively set the agenda for our society.

In eRep this is even more important- since here we have no direct say over the direction our society takes. Our gods are unelected, impossible to remove and ignore every suggestion, protest and complaint that doesn’t hit them in the pocket. When the screaming grows loud enough they release a new stupid medal or a few missions to keep people quiet. All the medals and missions in the world don’t make this less of a hamster-wheel game

Let’s make this May 1st (day 1624) a day to remember. All over the world, workers throw down your tools. To the people who buy gold- don’t buy it for one day. To everyone else- don’t fight. Make a small sacrifice to show the admins we can make a united face when we have to. One day of action can easily become two, or three, or a week or month. Bosses the world over shake when people start organising together, but the only way to do that is if everyone agrees to make a short term sacrifice for a long term gain.

Let’s face it- say you don’t fight tomorrow and your country loses. Who cares? You’re not going to lose congress, and every other defeat is temporary. In a month what happens today will be totally irrelevant in terms of who owns what bit of land. In a year, the game probably won’t even exist. So make your stand now and pray for the future.

With my beautiful assistant Plato

No May Day holiday would be complete without presents! Last year I gave away some 60,000 health to players in the UK, but this year I’m going international!

I have 8000 Q6 tanks to give away today. Anyone who wants to help can donate to me here.

I’m going to give 5 tanks to everyone who comments on this article pledging not to fight for one day tomorrow.

I will give the tanks out on the night of the 5th when I get home. Whether you keep the pledge or not is up to you, I am trusting you to keep your word, and I think most of you are good people. You don’t have to be in ONE to get tanks- today we celebrate our similarities not our differences.

Remember, we are all brothers before Plato.
