The Wiki Project

Ever wanted to contribute to eCanada, learn about our history, and get paid for it?
Well now you can!

The Wiki Project Act, recently passed by Congress (thanks!), is an Act that provides funding to eCanadian citizens who help to maintain eCanadian pages on the eRepublik Wiki.

By volunteering to be a Wikipedia Officer, you will be entitled to a payment (in-game CAD) at the end of your term. The amount of this payment depends on a few factors, such as: which pages you maintain, the quality of the updates, etc.

It's great to be paid and all, but what is The Wiki Project really about?

The Wiki Project is a program that aims at maintaining the eCanadian Wiki pages, by providing the opportunity to citizens to contribute. It looks to document our ehistory by recording this information in the eRepublik Wiki. And it needs your help!

That's great, but what would I have to do?

If you volunteered to be a Wikipedia Officer, it would be your job to update one or more Wiki pages (the one(s) you volunteer for). Though, if you get too busy and don't get it fully updated, that's fine. We're only asking for volunteers, you just may not fully receive your payment as the end 😉

What would I update it with, and how do I find the info?

There are many events that happen in eCanada that are worthy of being recorded. Depending which Wiki page you volunteered for, a political party for example, you would need to keep updated with the party (so, it's recommended you volunteer for a page you already work with) and summarize the most important events.

There are also many ways to find the information needed to update pages, from keeping up-to-date yourself, to asking the party leader and members, and more. We can definitely help you figure out how to get this information easily, if that's what would be holding you back from volunteering. There's much help that we can offer, actually 🙂

What else will you help with?

The Wikipedia Head Officer's job is to help the Wikipedia Officers with anything they need help with. Training and tutorials will be offered on an array of Wiki-related subjects, as well as information to make doing your job easier. And as always, the Wikipedia Head Officer is open for 1-on-1 talks and discussions on any questions, concerns, etc. that you would have.

Anything else?

For more information, please feel free to ask by leaving a comment, or by visiting this topic which explains more about The Wiki Project.

It's important to keep a record of our history, to both educate our newer citizens and to track our progress through the ages. There are certain events and people that should be recognized and remembered for how they changed the eCanadian landscape, and the Wiki is a great way to do this. Your help with The Wiki Project would be very much appreciated
