The Departed

Day 682, 13:19 Published in USA USA by Kyle321n
In a lead up to my one year eBirthday celebration, I'm going to write a couple articles commemorating those who have influenced me during my life in eRepublik.

This article is commemorating my favorite people who have since left us for the real world. They may be names that you recognize, they may be controversial figures in their time here, and they may not be easily remembered. Two of these members are not dead yet, since I've been helping keep them alive, but they have left the game.

7. Tyrsis/Coblin
His in game and and forum name were different, which made no sense to me, but his ideas were always sensical. Just read his newspaper and see some of his ideas. He was a great businessman, economist, and was one of the reasons our country wasn't bankrupt before we ever had a budget. He was one of the reasons I joined the Libertarian Party when I started, and every now and then I'd go back and read some of his articles so I could use the ideas in there to present the reasoning for why things have always been the way they are (ie: Minimum wage will never change)

6. Trisk/Watcher
This was the only people who I truly respected from "The Party". He was their logistics guy, one of the original script runners, and created charts based on the battles that were fought. I remember watching these charts realtime during battles, and seeing how the battle damages would sway from one side to the other. It was great information to have and I only wish he had been on the eUS's side so when "The Party" collapsed in late January, he would have stayed around. HarrisonRichardson/Franco/ThisGenMedia/T eacher could write better about Trisk than I could, but the effect his charts had on the French war and some tactics that were created from seeing them still hold true today and he makes it on my list.

5. Logomaster304 and Rise
These two founded the Federalist Party as an offshoot of the eRepublicans for Change, after an ugly battle over Presidential Nominations, name changes and Party Presidencies. I enjoyed watching them leave the RfC, and I actively tried to get them to merge the Feds and the Nationalists. They were all for the change I just had to get it past one member... She said no, and now I'm eMarried to her. They were both great politicians and ever since they founded the Feds I felt like they were great friends with the Nationalists. Even when Logo left the eUS and went to China, I still talked frequently with him and nearly sold him a hospital. He was a great player and it's a shame he was banned.

4. Boss_Khamzi and Camsgirl64
I combine these two because they were a husband and wife combo playing the game together. They were the lifeblood and backbone of the Nationalist Party during our "heyday" of February and March. Boss was the Party President and Camsgirl was our communications director. They were fantastic and worked well with everyone in the Nationalist Party, allowing Nathan Woods and myself to focus on the political realm as they led the party to over 200 members (at the time that was within 30 members of the top 5). They were sorely missed within the Nationalist Party when they left in mid-April.

3. ProggyPop
Quite possibly my greatest political ally, Proggy and I worked together publicly and in secret to get the nation to try to get along. He was one of the best USWP members I've had the honor to work with and he was a fantastic mentor when I became Speaker of the House. He didn't get along with everyone, as he could be a little brash, but he knew what he wanted and it was almost always what was best for the eUS.

2. Equality 7-2521
What can be said about Equality that has't been said. He was the greatest Game Mechanics player that has ever lived. He knew exactly how to go about what he wanted and he usually made some money while doing it. He spent a ton of money on the game, owned 15 organizations so he could buy the cheapest products without buying moving tickets, and he owned at least 8 Q5 companies. Once he had everything he wanted, he stopped buying gold and started using the money he made from his companies to tank for the eUS. While he was only a 7 strength citizen, he had fought enough to become a Field Marshal, becoming the lowest strength Field Marshal in the world. He was amazing and taught me more about how to use the Game Mechanics and how to completely throw out all real life politics when making decisions.

1. Nathan Woods
He was my best friend in the game. He was the co-founder of the Nationalist Party. He was the Party President of the NP for 3 months while I was his Vice President. He was the face of the Nationalist Party. I miss him more than anyone else in this game, and I don't want to see him die, so I'm feeding him to keep him alive. The archives in the Nationalist Party forums are named the Nathan Woods Library. We didn't always see eye to eye on political approaches but we both agreed that we wanted to see the Nationalist Party in the top 5. I only hope that my current projects to get NP membership up will make him proud.

Edit: This is scary: Nathan returns the day I write my article about how I miss my dead friends.

Let's all take a moment to remember these passed on heroes of the eUS.

If you have a memory of these members or another deceased member, please feel free to post them here. This is a respectful article and if you did not like a member of this list, please express that someplace elsewhere, and not here.

RIP Equality, Proggy, Boss, Camsgirl, Logo, Rise, Trisk, and Tyrsis. You may be gone but you are not forgotten.
