The Congressmen aren't Serious!

4 Day 497, 03:17 Israel
Hello,

I have decided to write this short article about an issue that bugs me a lot these times.

If you will look in the Country Administration on the rules and taxes that have been offered, you will see that each and every one of them is voted to be!

Most of these tax changes and stuff are crazy things we simply can't afford!

I'm starting to get the feeling that our congressmen are simply not serious!

The just vote for everything, without even looking.

No wonder why eIsrael's economy is such bad!

On the next congress election, be sure to vote for serious ones.

Have a good day,
AvivC

I think you may misunderstand the political environment.

We have a congress that is dominated by the Israeli Workers Party. They are a disciplined and well organised party and it is for this reason that a large proportion of the proposals get through.

I would be interested if you could identify which laws are crazy and unaffordable, because as far as I can see the laws are largely appropriate and we have achieved all our aims - we have a stable economy, we do not have an overbearing tax burden, we have a Q5 defence system AND a Q4 hospital system.

I welcome a new independent publication to our media environment, but please offer some examples to back up your assertions (and perhaps some proposals about how things could be done better).

I am a congressman and if you please, explain which proposal we have voted on? There are 3 that have been proposed this election cycle. An MPP with the US, Moving ticket tax, and Gift tax.

If you ask me, the gift income tax should have been set higher on gifts, but the proposal was a start. I personally support a 10% flat tax on income across the board and 5% VAT on all non essential items such as food...

There has been nothing unreasonable that I have seen so far.
