The Block and Abraham Lincoln

Day 776, 05:25 Published in USA USA by Caden Cotard

There's been a lot of talk lately about Heilongjiang, and what happened there on the side of the government. A lot of feathers have been ruffled over details of the plan.

We lost in Heilongjiang, fair and square. We spent a lot of money doing it. That's important to understand. I'm not going to pretend I have any inside access to information. I'm not going to tell you conclusively whether the attack was supposed to be a block or not. Rather, I have to say one thing that's been bugging me about the whole ordeal:

It doesn't matter.

We attacked Heilongjiang. We gave it all we had and then some. We unified as a nation in a way I hadn't seen before. We bounced back from the loss. What perhaps could have felt like a crippling defeat instead felt bittersweet. Right away there was a chorus of eUS citizens asking when we would get the next shot to topple the pillar. That, in my mind, is impressive. That made me proud to be a part of the eUSA, and part of its military.

Our president published an article explaining what happened. He explained the strategic victories involved in the defeat. It was a good article, honestly. I can't speak to the truth of what was said about the plans any more than I can speak to the truth of what the plans will be a month from now. And, with a few exceptions, nor can anyone making accusations against our president.

Presidential elections are coming up. Many, many people are using Heilongjiang to attack Jewitt. They say he didn't handle the situation correctly, that we should have known from the start that it was a block.

Well, we didn't. We fought hard and we lost. But we'll be back. No matter who is president, we'll be back. It's only a matter of time.

Many citizens seem to be looking for a scapegoat. They're looking for someone to blame for the gold they may or may not have spent at Heilongjiang. In this case, Jewitt appears to be their man, and thus he is being attacked by citizens who do not know the whole story.

I have more faith in our leadership than that. I have more faith in our citizens than that. I'm tired of seeing stuff posted about how either side hates America. As we demonstrated in Lion King and Katana, and will continue to demonstrate again and again throughout the New World's history, we are a great nation. When we stand together, we can achieve great things.

We were once (before my time) a band of outlaws, confined to Florida. And here we are causing millions of points of damage in eastern Asia. I think that's pretty impressive. I think that's something we as a nation can be proud of.

What's this all got to do with Abraham Lincoln? In a speech he delivered after accepting the republican nomination for the senate, he said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

He was right. There is plenty of room for healthy debate among candidates. Plenty of room to state your opinion about what happened, argue what is best for the nation. But keep away from personal attacks. No candidates in this election hate the eUSA. No citizen is more of a patriot for wanting to vote a certain way. Every citizen who wants to vote, to find the best candidate for our nation is a patriot.

We cannot let what happened in Hello Kitty divide the nation. We need to bounce back, and we need to do it quickly. The world is waiting.

When the election comes around, go out and vote. Vote Jewitt, Woxan, whoever you decide would be best for our nation. But read as much as you can, get as unbiased a picture as possible. Do not make your decision based on one event.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. Remember that.
