The Best is yet to come; Standing for Re-election!

Day 670, 08:23 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Yet again, the 25th is approaching, and I am happy to announce I shall be re-running for election in the East Midlands!

I’m quite involved with a few areas of the eUK, but my focus is politics. I have a wide range of experience under my belt, and I’m always happy to represent my fellow EMers in Congress. Since I began playing this February, I began publishing a highly successful paper, the People’s Gazette. For a long while I’ve been releasing general information advice and news updates using my paper, and was recently voted, one of the UK’s favourite writers.

Some of the most useful and successful articles I wrote were my selection of new players guide. Even today, months after the original release they are used frequently by business and governments. You can view them here;

Who am I?

For the past 3 months I’ve held the position of Minister of Home Affairs, before that I was Minister of Work. Experience in ministries is always a good way to get involved in eUK politics. It really helps introduce people to the structure and systems that we currently use. Having been a cabinet minister for the last four terms, I’ve gotten a good wide range of experience and people skills. I credit myself on participating in calm discussion, presenting and respecting my own and other people’s views, and helping make decisions that help the eUK progress.

As MoHa, I organise schemes such as PMing, and media schemes designed to help get people involved and informed. I can guarantee at some point you would have been contacted by myself or an apprentice in the ministry with information and advice you can use.

You’ve voted me into congress before. For this I am eternally thankful. I’m glad that I get support from the East Midlands, and I’m confident that you know you have an active, dedicated, contributor representing you in the House of Commons. I’m not the sort of MP who votes and argues. I always try to keep discussions positive, and put in an active contribution. I’ve had my fair share of proposing bills, such as an alternative to the House of Lords which is currently in HoC.

Fortunately; John Bartlett has allowed me the pleasure of being his Under Minister, in the Ministry of Legislative Affairs. Which helps me further familiarise myself with the legislative system and existing laws. Not only that but I’ve been an active member on the East Midlands Council, as the Media Councillor. This job entails releasing articles and contacting EMers with bits of information and advice that you can use to help yourself progress in the game.

As a member of TUP, we discuss and follow a manifesto that we make every month to present the views of our members and congressmen. This party manifesto, which acts as a manifesto for all members, can be read upon release in the Unity Post, TUP’s official paper.

But as always there are a few points I would like to elaborate on, so you can understand my line of thinking in the HoC.

Military and Foreign Affairs

The UK should be seeking to improve relations with neutral countries this is simply to help us gain friends outside of PEACE that we can explore possible trading opportunities with in the future. Also, on a smaller social level we should be aiming at improving relations with PEACE countries. This is easily done by visiting the PEACE forum, and using the PEACE irc. Something I often do myself.

As the UK’s ambassador to North America, and a Captain in the Royal Guard, I do have the odd idea around the subject that I feel is worth mentioning. I would like to continue promoting recruitment to the military and keep the military forums active. Although a lot of orders are sent over the hub, it is also important to try and keep the community side of the military going, to keep things more fun. I’ve spent time PMing groups of people based on their strength, informing them of which wings of the military they can join, which is another good way to get recruits into the stronger areas of our military.

Domestic issues

Fortunately we don’t see a lot of propaganda around nowadays, but I’d like to continue the information PM campaigns we do in the MoHa. I also task myself with keeping people in the know about what the East Midlands Council is doing, and often send PM’s out about what we’re doing there. As for issues such as the HoL, I would quite like to get a good idea of what your personal opinions are, I was glad to take part in debate and discussion with my constituents over the HoL matter, and it did help me consider my position on the matter. In HoC a number of days ago I proposed an alternative, which Malta polished for me and even if it doesn’t come into play, I feel it’s good to keep HoC on their toes discussing the idea and exploring what routes we could go down after its removal.

Why vote for me?

A vote for me is certainly a vote well spent. Not only am I an active forum going politician, I am also dedicated to the eUK and dedicated to the East Midlands. I love to get feedback and opinions from the people in my region, so it’s likely that you’ll see me asking for some input. Don’t be shy and drop us a message with your thoughts on issues that face the eUK, after all I am here to represent you, and many of you know I'm a very approachable person.

My time in the eUK has been well spent, since I signed up, I’ve been involved in a range of ministries and in the House of Commons. I’m respectful and active contributor to the HoC and my regional council. Having been a cabinet minister for the last four terms, you know that if you decide to vote for me you’re going to have a well experienced, knowledgeable and good representative, always willing to answer your questions, and here to help.

As always, I will also maintain a good level of journalism to allow people nationwide to keep up to date with important matters that arise not only in the UK’s politics but with general news. Naturally, I shall keep using my guides to help people with low wellness and to help new players through the initial stages of the game.
