Terrorist? You So Funny!

Hi kids!

This isn't going to be easy for me. Sort of like walking through a mine field with snow shoes on (pun intended), but oh well, no guts, no glory.

Before we get started, I would like to say that I intend to use a civil tone and speak with respect here. I know I get a little snotty in my replies to comments and shouts. It's in my nature I suppose. When irritated I tend to growl. That will have no place here as I just want to make a few things clear and discuss some issues that to me seem to be key to this BS we are now experiencing.




First and Foremost


Pickle's have changed colors!

Yep, that's our new MU logo. The familiar (if you were interested) red, white & blue background has been replaced with a symbol (to me anyhow) of independence lost. No longer dark and muted as in my personal avatar, but bright and shining, a symbol of common cause and brotherhood. A symbol of revolt to oppressive government.

To be perfectly clear about who and what we are, there has also been a name change. Pickle's Patriots have become Pickle's exPatriates, we are now a mercenary group. We only make one promise to you, we will never fight for Poland or Serbia. This is subject to change only if any of the two countries have a super, big time change of heart. Not some flimsy, wishy washy BS change and two months later they are the same all over again.

The same goes for the eUS government. As long as the crap continues, we refuse to take any orders from the DoD or PotUS. We will defend the eUS from attack on original regions and we will fight to maintain bonus regions, that is all we will do. (We like the 100/100% bonus, that's why we stay here.) Of course we would like to work with any future government that represents the people and not the interests of a few. Our goal is to be repatriated with our homeland.




Regarding Canada



Pickle's agrees with what Cyber Witch has written in this article. I believe it to be a very calm and rational reaction to the current upheaval in the eUS foreign policy. It simply states that some of our former military cannot morally be obligated to do the bidding of a government that at best provoked this mess and at worst actually caused it. We will not help Canada (or anyone) invade eUS soil, but we likewise will help defend Canada as a sovereign state.

As to whether Canada's government is legitimate, acted correctly or are a bunch of dicks, I cannot say for sure. Is Rolo the master mind behind the scenes? Many a player has tried to convince me it is so. I've seen no convincing proof. I will leave it for you to decide.

This just in: Canada's CP Rylde asks for peace and refuses to attack the eUS.




Regarding the USA



To be plain, this has gotten out of hand. As far as I know, Evry has lost control of things. I'm not even certain he is aware of all the diplomatic calamities that seem to abound. I make no claim at understanding how wars are began or MPP's are made. But I do know that Poland NE'd France. That doesn't seem to be very good for the eUS. Also several former allies were fighting for Canada today. The same allies that Every told off as the eUS dropped EDEN and TERRA. That gives me pause.

When leadership in the eUS shows me that they can play this game like grown-ups I will pay attention. Quit running about willy nilly, blaming anyone beside yourselves, telling different versions of the same story and just plain making bad decisions, you will have my allegiance.

Terrorist or Hero?


I forget who I stole this from,
but it amuses me.

Those of us, deciding on moral grounds to defend Canada from this attack, are called traitor by many, even terrorist. I don't understand the terrorist reference at all, as the definition of a terrorist is someone who's purpose is to inflict terror on a group of people. So I suppose if I were to holler "BOO!" I am a terrorist? (That was supposed to be a lighthearted joke.)

As far as the use of the term traitor, I would like to point in two directions. The first would be the moral implications. Principle IV of the Nuremberg principles states: "The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him". Before you complain, I understand that we have no international law here and that I am bringing in a RL concept to this issue. Regarding the "law", we have only two binding sets of law here, Plato's laws and eRep ToS. So if you reject my bringing in an outside influence then please reject the contrivance of government that you have created on the eUSA forum. That's right, it's all a farce and only game mechanics rule.

The second point is that game mechanics do indeed dictate how the game is to be played. Many moons ago (this is funny shit), when the econ mod was 'fixed' to make it fair for everyone, I was extremely pissed off that people undercut my prices. I was losing my corporate empire. I bitched, I whined, I moaned. I clearly remember being told that, "It's game mechanics, get over it and quit yer bitchin'.". Well, C'est la vie fellas. I can squat here, soak up bonus resources, fight for who I like and there's nothing you can do about it, "It's game mechanics, get over it and quit yer bitchin'.".
