TCO: The Emergence of the Old Guard
Do you remember WW3?
Then you might be OG.
Do you remember The Wall?
Then you might be OG.
Do you remember Atlantis and PEACE CG?
Then you might be OG.
Do you remember when Rylde ran the Crimson roost with an iron fist?
Then you might be COG.
In some ways, the nature of play in eRep has changed. The advent of V2 and subsequent changes in mechanics have altered how players approach the game and have left some of us waxing poetic about “the good old days.”
Focused has shifted to individual achievement over collective play, in many cases, and a general attitude of “what have you done for me lately” often hangs in the air.
The new focus works well for many players, but some of us feel dissatisfied. We want to work as a well-oiled and active unit, always at the ready when an ally needs us. We want to build strength as individual fighters, not for personal glory, but to increase the power of our force as a whole. Eschewing role-play in favor of mechanics, we want to be part of a capable and united fighting force that understands the game and its history, and uses that knowledge to increase efficiency on and off the battlefield. As we want to have a hell of a lot of fun.
The community that is eRep continues to stand because of dedication and cooperation. Working together, supporting each other and creating a fun environment is as important as our ability to make a positive impact for our allied nations. We believe these were the goals Bruck set forth when he created Bruck’s Canucks and we want to maintain them each time we log onto eRep.
With that in mind, member’s of The Crimson Order’s old guard (or original gangsters, depending on how one sees us) have come together in search of contentment with game play and a belief that a return to the basic tenets of Bruck’s original plan are the best roadmap to use as we traverse the game.
The Crimson Old Guard, COG, is proud to carry the Crimson standard. We see the cog as a symbol for the importance of unity and mutual support. With logic, experience and warrior strength, we come together with a shared goal – to defend and support our allies; to stand on guard for thee.

TCO falling apart?
Damn. Happened sooner than High command bet it would. Looks like I owe Chucky 100 CAD
I think this is the Non-Lulz TCO?
Another aspect of COG - we don't play in the pissing contest with CAF. I send you my love, but I'm not going be part of the non-supportive crap, so you may want to piss on someone else's article. COG respects all allied military, so feel free to tell your commanders to chat with us should CAF want to jv sometime:)
Not falling apart Cozza. There are many different ways to look at this. You could say we're returning to our roots. Realistically, this is more along the lines of TCO's older brother moving back home from university. The awesomeness will increase but will become more reasonable.
Oh, Wes, there will be lulz ... and sh*tshows. We're still Crimson to the core. But we'll run things a bit more like Rylde did.
If I joined the Crimsons would I be OG? Because I can answer all those questions?
You're OG, supabeasty, but you have to apply to be COG.
I am OG I know I am, I was CC, I was at the Battle of Ontario, man so much has happend
i see JRC 's sigature on this so i assume that this is like an added branch of the Crimson order
we stand on guard for thee
@Rainer - We're an autonomous Division of TCO. JRC helped create it. I'd never do this without the Crimson Commander's okay.
Interessting. Good luck guys! Go kick some asses!
Thanks, M. Loiselle - we plan to!
Sure sounds lulzy to meh
Crimson is all about the lulz.
i was OG in my old account
Dycey, can you be CC and COG at the same time?
Like.
...except for the time when Rylde cost me the CP. : (
Dear Crimson old guard,
Please tone down the roleplaying.
Thank you,
eCanada
eh, i joined Crimson Canucks just as we were starting our Resistance wars from our only Q5 Hospital left, which was in Alberta. TBC was the one who recruited me and help me along the way
Yeah i remember those days.
Salty its not about roleplaying, those were exciting times we lived in, gaining our land back from the brink of destruction. It was what hooked me into continuing to play this game.
since then, i've gotten bogged down with RL work so i had to quit Crimson Canucks in lieu of log in, click click, log out.
anyway, i'll just repeat a favorite recent line, TCO + CAF, United we stand brothers.
Saltydog - ththththtpppppt!
@Charles Powell - That's kinda a weird question ... it's all TCO. I don't know that we've ever had anyone in 2 Divisions simultaneously. I have no answer to that, tbh. I'll consult the Oracle (aka JRC).
"Like." x2
OG stands ready
Hater's gonna hate.
But the Crimson Old Guard is the best thing to happen to eCanada since er.... ... well it's the best thing to happen to eCanada in a LONG TIME.
I look forward to what these great and mature players will add to our community. Friendship is key and they understand that, unity is a must. As citizens in this "e-world", we have to work as a team to achieve our goals.
The COG seems to be exactly the refreshing change we needed. I support you guys 100%.
Go make some change! VIVA EDEN! \o/
Oh and I guess I'm an OG too btw. Haha
I'm so OG, I remember trivia.
Holy crap, Alucard - you're OOG!
Go Dycey!
WW3 :] good times...
oh gawd I'm OG
the Trivia was really fun thats what hooked me on (and President Benn Dover in the USA)
"Working together, supporting each other and creating a fun environment is as important as our ability to make a positive impact for our allied nations."
I really hope you can encourage eCan's population and sincerely wish you all the best with your goals to achieve this. It would be fantastic!
Well, I liked the acronym-pun on the Crimson cog.
Steampunk nostalgia: "Oh, how things have changed since I was a boy..."
I'm guessing TCO is a survivor, but I'm still surprised to see Calder's name listed considering this recent article:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/tco-new-roll-for-a-native-son-1584000/1/20
I remember when Benn Dover wrote about his experiences in eRep for his college admissions essay and it worked - lol!
There's no surprise that JRC is here, Plugson - He's the Crimson Commander. We're behind him and beside him all the way.
Thanks for the support, guys. We'll give this our best.
Dear saltydog,
Please tone down that pathetic ego. You don't represent sh*t.
Thanks,
Octavian_F
Dycey's new nickname can be "ODB" (Ole Dirty Bastard).
Why all the pressure on the TCO to save the country? Are we ever going to have a CP that fucking does anything?
lol, Forrest!
@ only atoms - We can't save a country ... maybe help win a battle, though. People working together for a shared goal can create positive results, but that depends on the people ... and the goal. All we we do is find like minds and have a lot of fun, especially if we look to build something supportive and good. COG hopes to do that, at least in a small way. If we succeed, maybe our good intentions will spread a little.
Seems like a pathetic attempt by Kilgore to regain lost power in TCO
Seems some of the Crimson Brothers aren't good enough for these elitists to associate with
Do what you want
Do it under your own logo
Don't call it Crimson
and there is no problem
If you can't or, won't do that then there is something else afoot...
Rolo, I've given more time to Crimson in a single day than you have in the weeks you've been a member. Though you're welcome to troll and spread your poison as you see fit, I'd appreciate if you'd think before attacking members of the militia whose uniform you wear. Please respect the cog.
hmmmm, will there be regular food supply drops?
