Let's please keep things civil, and semi-serious. Gracias! Just please remember if you have a question, please provide a short couple words about the topic you intend to ask (we'd like to keep things appropriate). Much apprecaited.

First up this evening we'll begin with mjdiv. mj the floor is yours sir.

mjdiv
Good evening to all of our guests and members of the great United States Trade And Military Alliance party! Most of you know me but, for those who don’t, I’d like to take you back through the history of this country and the history of this great party.

495 days ago, I began my life in eRepublik, long before we had been involved in World War IV or even World War III. 495 days ago, we had never been successfully invaded by any nation and we were still growing as a country. From my earliest days, I looked at all of the political parties and knew that I would join this party as soon as I could. I wanted to join this party because it was a party that stood for something - for making sure our citizens could pursue individual freedoms!

I have always been a member of this party, I have always been a citizen of this country and I have always been proud of that and have never looked back and thought I should have done anything different. I love this party and I love this country and I have always done everything to learn as much as I could and teach it to our newest citizens.

495 days ago, we were called the Libertarian party and Emerick had built us up to be one of the most powerful political parties in the world, routinely ranked as the No. 1 or No. 2 party in USA. 495 days ago, Emerick also would NEVER have called us the “Sexy Libs” came to dislike the party he helped build up; he did not like the people who this party came to represent.

For the past year, he’s wanted to destroy the same party he built up.He left the party and with the leaving of Emerick, a lot of its direction left with him. The Libertarian party, while having many great people, eventually lost our way and had no common direction. We were 1000 souls going in 1000 different directions. Although Emerick left, I did not! I remained and I worked with people such as Daphne Lilac and Publius and helped write the tenets of the Libertarian party which Emerick had left in the dust.

All of the great party presidents have been driven by political agendas which banded party members together behind a common cause. But soon we no longer had a cause and we were slowly dying, becoming dangerously close to falling out of the Top 5. Some people are nostalgic about our past and want to bring back the Libertarian name.

I will tell you why we should not.
First of all, while a few of us are real life Libertarians, most of us in this party are not and, although we share some values of the real life party, we are not a mirror copy and are in many ways different.
Secondly, the great Libertarian party that people try to evoke memories of was the party of Emerick - the party he came to hate - the “Sexy Libs” he wanted to destroy and still does, regardless of what name we choose to call ourselves, so why should we bring back the memory of someone else who does not accept us now, did not accept us then and will not accept us in the future? It’s time to cut the ties! We are not Emerick. We are ourselves and we always have been and we need to place our marks and show the world that we have an identity that is not related to someone who has tried to tear us apart and who will not be happy if someone ELSE can grow this party beyond what he could.

495 days ago, we were Emerick’s children. Since he abandoned us, we became ourselves. If we are to grow, we cannot keep looking into the past, staying in Emerick’s shadow - we need to progress into the future. We need to let the world know who we are and proudly state that fact. 495 days is long enough to live in the shadow of someone who despises us. None of you should ever believe that you can’t be part of something great without Emerick or any other self-righteous person in the world.

We ARE a great party. We are not Emerick’s shadow. We are TAMA! I joined the Libs and, before long, I was the highest-ranked Libertarian writer in the world, writing about the ideas which would become the foundation for TAMA.My service was sought by many and I made friendships in all of the major political parties and many of the smaller ones.am currently serving under President Chocolate McSkittles alongside our Secretary of State as Director of Economic Relations. My ideas were formed by working with great economists such as One Eye. My team in the Department involves people from TAMA as well as from other political parties and include great people such as AidenAstrup and Dr. Tango and we are taking important steps which will have huge impact on the world as we work toward improving the economies of USA as well as our allies through open markets which will never have high priced, unaffordable finished goods or dried up...supplies of raw materials.

TAMA is not just a name; it’s much bigger than a political party. It was created by members of this party as a reflection of what we stand for and now provides our party, once again, with a direction to work for something we all can believe in. we have great people such as Dennis McVicker, KrissyKat, LifesaverM, Devoid, Deleruin, Charmader95 and on and on and on. I value the abilities everyone of you have and will put all of your talents to use. We already have an amazing party and an incredible sea of leadership - all we needed was a direction to point our more than 500 sails to catch the wind and move us from mere existence to a powerful energetic group that is capable of achieving things the world has never seen.

Whatever the future of our party brings, Dennis and I will work together and will continue to provide the wind for TAMA’s sails. Our President depends on it, our nation depends on it, and our allies depend on our continuing to blaze the path we’ve started. We must not continue to live another 495 days in Emerick’s shadow. We must stay vigilant, be proud of who we are and make our marks in history..

This is what I will do if elected PP of US TAMA party:
A vote for me is a vote to never look back and second-guess ourselves. A vote for me is a vote for a party president who will bring honor and respect to this party by improving inter-party relations.
A vote for me is a vote to make sure that this party will never stand for isolationism and will help and earn the respect of the nations we must depend on who are our allies.
A vote for me is a vote for progress and I invite you all to come on this journey with me to chart our own path as we learn from 495 days of history and move into the future.

LifesaverM
Thank-you mjdiv
Next up we'll have Mr. Dennis_McVicker to the podium. Dennis....
LifesaverM gently pokes Dennis_McVicker_
Well then Mr. Robert_Grosseteste the podium is your then. Robert...

Robert_Grosseteste
Heya sexy libs!
It's been a stranged course of actions lately. I have been a citizen (in one form or another) since day 390. I can honestly say that in that time frame the thing that kept drawing me to this party rather than another with more tangible things to offer was the chance of having a support system. If it takes a village to raise a child then Seal Team 6 and the Libertarian Party were my village.

I am going to get to the point.
I want to simply depoliticize this party, return it to the Libertarian Party, and revolution welfare programs that in turn will spurr the kind of social bonds that developed in an active community. I have only but lately decided that my ambition is to run for PP of this party... The reasoning being that this party is becoming a sheep led by a wolf's head. Fun, an obscure concept lately, is the distinct figure in renewing the pa--in its' children (members).

LifesaverM
Alright, we need to proceed, we'll come back to Robert in a moment if he's ready.

Dennis_McVicker_
My goals for this party have been pretty straight forward from the beginning, create an efficient party that is unified by common goals and ideas. Those ideas are based on our former identity as the Libertarian Party, and the goals are based on spreading free-market principles to our allies. I have spent the last month as Party President attempting to reorganize and restructure the party into something more resembling a political party. I have been recruiting precinct captains to help easy the burden of communicating with the party, and to hopefully get to a point where the party leadership directs our voters on where to vote.

I have also been working with others to lay down ground work for a party militia, and obtained off-site contact information from more than 10% of our members. With 17 days to go before the Congressional elections, we currently have as many blockers and mobile voters as we did last election.

I join this party as soon as I was able to, and be came active in #uslibs2 while I was still a lvl 4 noob. From the beginning I have not only done what has been asked of me, I have taken the initiative and done things that needed to be done regardless of whether or not it was asked of me. If reelected as Party President it is this kind of pro-active attitude you can continue to expect of me.

After seeing mjdiv's amazing speach I wich I had prepared more, but I believe my actions speak volumes. Thank you.

LifesaverM
First, we have a question from Syrup that I believe is directed towards Dennis and Robert

Syrup
Robert- Why are you wanting to change the name back to Libs, Dennis_McVicker_ why do you want to keep it as TAMA?
Dennis_McVicker_: you can go first

mjdiv points Dennis_McVicker_ to mjdiv's previous statement

Dennis_McVicker_
My opponent wants to change the name because he's stuck in the past, I wish to keep the name as it is because I am looking towards the future. A future with purpose, strength, and activity for our party. The libertarian party was dead before the name change, and TAMA is our chance to revive this party. Done

LifesaverM
Thank-you Dennis, do you have anything more to add Robert?

Robert_Grosseteste
Basicly, I want to change the name back to the Libertians for the ideals we use as a party. As TAMA we become faceless, supporting an alliance with no actual values. They simply want to stand behind something. While on the other hand, The Libertarians actually have ideals and a past, we have memories inside of the Libertarians, and NOT inside of TAMA.
TAMA is too impersonal and will drive newer players away, lowering retention and is already driving newer players away as we speek, our numbers have been waning since it has changed, and older players may be leaving because of this as well, such as Deleruin did.

LifesaverM
Great thank-you Robert.
Dennis_McVicker_
redirect?
may I add something?

LifesaverM
We do have precident from other debates, so yes proceeed.

Dennis_McVicker_
We lost more members in the each of the months preceeding my presidency than we have during this term, so the loss has nothing to do with the name the loss is a general trend all parties are seeing we read a different article everyday about somebody leaving.

Robert_Grosseteste
(sorry for interuppting again, the whole 'done' thing confuses me)

LifesaverM
Yes Robert you have the opportunity to rebutt.

Robert_Grosseteste
1) not every party has this trend, the UIP is growing thanks to the recruitment efforts done by Herr_Nicholas, it is dedication that makes a party grow.
2) While like I said, having a name like TAMA makes it too impersonal, making new members viewing it as a party to basically just rank up in and run for Congress, not wanting to seek active positions, Because, they don't view the party as accepting of individuals when it is faceless.

Dennis_McVicker_
you're right and when you left for the UIP where was your dedication?
Robert_Grosseteste
also, quick question, this is being edited into an article right?
LifesaverM
The text is being logged, but no not into an article if someone wants the text they can.
Robert_Grosseteste
Kk.
[RAGE]bkblake
sure

LifesaverM
SMSG_Serendipitous has a question about militias for the candidates. (Don't want to rush folks but we are running out of time).

SMSG_Serendipitous
But here's the question.
APF, SEES, and the Feds each have their respective militias, right? So... What are your guys's plans for a militia?

mjdiv
If Dennis or I are elected, TAMA will have a militia. idk Robert's standpoint

Robert_Grosseteste
From what i have seen, party-ran militias usually are more of a headache for what they are worth. The cost to start them up, and the initial time needed is not worth it in the ratio of time/MemberRetained. *IF* I decided to use a party militia it would probably be to hitchhike on to another militia as the UIP did with the TCO. Basically what the TCO does is allow for each party to have their own militia whilst making a basic template/stepping stone to help that party get started, but the Libs will have their own division, meaning it would be our militia division, but without all the trouble.

LifesaverM
Thank-you Dennis do you want to add anything?

Dennis_McVicker_
I see a militia as adding to the purpose of this party, protecting and supporting our allies. It will also be used to build leaders and active members from our currently dormant party.

LifesaverM
Do to time we need to keep moving I do apologize, we have one last question from BrentAb.
BrentAb you have the floor.

BrentAb
Alright, can each of the candidates describe how they plan to handle interparty relations and what qualifies them in this area?

LifesaverM
Let's begin this time with Robert shall we?

Robert_Grosseteste
Let's face it, we really only work together as a party in one thing, Congress elections. It isn't really up to debate that SEES does not like to work with anyone, so they are out of the question, we will mostly stay out of their way as well as with the APF, because they are strong. However, with the UIP, I think I would see them as allies, since I have multiple friends within there such as Justin McCravock, who runs the UIP elections, so I look forward to working with them closely, as with Syrup, and with Herr_Nicholas, who I am friends with on a personal level (we get on skype together). The Feds would be relatively neutral with me at this time.

LifesaverM
Thank-you Robert, Dennis your turn.

Dennis_McVicker_
I have made many friends outside this party, last election I worked out an election alliance with several other top five parties, I phave built close relations with two sixth parties, and intend to grow more such relationships. As of this election, we have in place alliances with the two largest top five parties to cooperate during the election it is my intention to strengthen our party, by working with stronger allies, until we reach a point to where we're strong on our own.
Thanks

LifesaverM
Thank-you Dennis, and finally on this question mjdiv, the mic is yours.

mjdiv
As long as I've been alive in eRepublik, I've always built relations across many party lines, I have friends in all Top 5 parties and many of the other parties as well Not just during Congressional elections, but every single day I talk to people in these parties. There are people in all of these parties who respect me because I also respect them and know that the greatest ideas come from people of all different political ideologies
If I am elected PP, TAMA will be a respected party who carries out interparty relations in a respectful manner working to build coalitions among other parties as well as the activity of our own

Dennis and I truly have similar goals, just different styles. If either one of us becomes PP, the other one will definitely be on the same team http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5swRXNrBsdY

LifesaverM
Thank-you mjdiv

I appreciate everyone's time this evening, and this does conclude our agenda at this time. Please take time to touch base with the candidates and ask questions on an individual basis before the election.

May TAMA/Libs pick the person they think will do the best for them.

TBH, I think this is poorly edited and formatted into an article. I really hope you work more on revising it. However, I really appreciate that you have published this for public viewing.

for the love of god theres 3 articles in this that are TLDR on there own. let alone being the stupidity of TIMA and the sadness of the libs going with it.

Thank you for doing this, b.k. blake. It's good, unbiased journalism which gets to the meat of what each candidate has said and allows the reader to make their own decision.
