Pretext: On December 10, 2009 I hosted my podcast "Fightin' 'round the World" and had AndraX2000 and Sydiot on to discuss the upcoming Christmas Elections, Congressional blockers, Stuff vs Gold (a hot topic over what was more important GOLD or the products we produced with it. It boiled down to socialized weapons or a completely privatized economy). A debate on whether or not we should have every state blocked so that we have a very limited amount of competition on the Christmas Day election led to a Stuff vs. Gold argument, and quite possibly the greatest speech on our party system that I have ever heard. While this pretext doesn't have quite the same amount of information the 20 minutes of discussion had prior to this (to listen to the full 60 minute show, Sydiot's speech comes 20 minutes into it) and the debate on whether or not we should have blockers has been thrown away by the fact that we face PTO threats every election, domestic (like Ajay Bruno aka Pizza the Hut, and his legion of multi-accounters) and foreign (I have figured out there's at least 38 active accounts with USA citizenship who regularly fight against us, the CIA and Federalist Party's Bureau of Investigation has more I'm sure) the second half of this still holds some major significance on how political parties should act towards each other and country. This is the entire 3 minute long speech Sydiot gave, and bolded is the most important part of the entire speech.

"We have these arguments monthly. Having being in congress has given me the chance to see how every time congressional elections happen that there's a new class of senators are learning everything for the first time, and there's a new class of senators who were new and are now experienced and there's a class of people who have been there forever and the same arguments happen each month and they are healthy. You know, they are important, how every month we question the tax system and every month we question the Director of the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) is everything in our best interest, all kinds of important financial things. That debate is not shut out, I don't think that debate is shut out by the party system either. I think that Sixth Parties candidates, like the UIP, have a really really important place in the political landscape. The Feds (Federalists) before they were sixth party, they had their states and parties respected those states. We didn't go over them, even once in the LIBs (Libertarians), and we knew what they were. In fact they were even more organized than we (Libs) were for months. The UIP was when they were 6th too.

I think the parties should be looked at less like ideological alignments, and more like local governments where there's a small group of people of varying size, that get together and govern themselves. They govern how they use their money and how they save, how they fight, how they work. Every one is different, but they all have the same purpose because we're all in the same nation. The local governments choose their representatives for the central government which does not deal with the individual concerns of their parties ideologically, but it serves the greater good in a larger scale apparatus. Because there are small parties that are less than the top 5, they will naturally be in the minority, but when they partner with 5th parties they will have an even more profound effect because they will be more focused and they probably have a similar activity level. But they also have a stronger intensity because they are not in the top.

The SFP are one of my favorite parties, the Feds before they were a top 5 party was an example of this, and the UIP are now obviously not a top 5. They are really important, but I don't think that the blocker system is really worth the debate, because it's going to happen no matter what you do."

I'm not going to add any analysis to this, because it's better than anything I could ever say. To add some needed context, the Federalist had just passed the UIP for the 5th spot, the American Advancement Party (now the USWP) was still in the top spot followed by (in order), the United States Worker's Party (now SEES), the Libertarian Party (now TAMA), and the Conservative Party (Now defunct and PTO'd). It was the second election with citizenship and we were learning how to stop political takeovers and we were not nearly as organized as we are today. To listen to the entire episode, click here
