Soldier or Politician
Sean MacDiarmata
Hello,
Im sitting here looking at these new pointless additions to the game, the bonus or gift whatever you want to call it. I said previously in an article I made that admin only bring in things nobody wants and don't fix the main problems in the game.
I wanted to see what others taught. For soldiers there is wars to fight in but not like it use to be when swarming the enemies battlefield and properly dominating them. V2 battle mod was the only time in my career here that I managed to kill a CP twice. While I was fighting in Venezuela (those who know me know ill fight anywhere) and when fighting with are Canadian allies in the like's of Scotland and the Midwest of the Uk.
For politicians there is congress, ministerial roles and the top job of VP or CP. Politicians decide on laws like, taxes, min wage's and donations etc. They come up with idea's to try streamline the government they are working in. Ministers work in the actual government positions like Minister of defence, health, recruitment and finance. Ministers do a lot of day to day work and they are the one's who run the state in question. Be it running the state companies, dealing with the state finance's or the countries military.
VP's and CP's, these are the top job's for politicians. VP's oversee most of the work being done within the government and report to their CP. Some VP's get appointed to role's within ministries to add assistance when needed. CP's is the top job some would say, they oversee most parts of the state. They do be involved in a lot of meetings with ally nations on all important matters, be it the economy, defence or things that may be a treat to their national security.
So I ask, what are you?
What position do you wish do be in?
Are you a soldier...is there much of a role for us in this game?
Hope you like the article and thanks as always for reading the Maximus Suridius

Soldier...nope not much of a role for us. ):
no, none at all.
🙁
no offence, but it's pssable to be both. if i get elected congress next election, ill be living proof of that.
Dream on Mr Welsh. Dream on ....
No offence taken for innocence 😉
check my profile once the elections are done. if you see a congress medal, you'll see.
I wish you well in your quest, but regret will be e-dead by then.
Enjoy.
voted. true🙁
I try to balance both and I've done pretty well at that I think. But I suppose I've always been more of a politician.
same
nice article mate
I used to be a politician...
Being a soldier is more fun 😛
I like to think I've been both, but tbh, most "soldiers" are just soldiers because they aren't politicians even though the might fight the exact same as any politician...a true soldier is someone who fights constantly not a self proclaimed soldier just because they don't indulge themselves in politics...just my two cents
You can't balance them, I think a perfect example of this was shown in the Dublin RW when the Irish TDs couldn't fight in Dublin. Game mechanics prevents it. Congress don't do a lot, but I suppose if you were a minister it'd be easier balanced.
By looking at my profile, it's not hard to figure out what am I.
Soldier till the end(of game). :}
The problem is really the battle mod. There was a whole game involved in it before, now it's just like playing killroulette or something. The point is that we really do need soldiers to fight, and citizens to drive the economy. Those people are more important than the CP, VP, all the ministers, and the congress. Without a country to lead, no politician can be a leader. I understand the position that soldiers are in; but I don't want to think about what the game would be without them.
This is my first and most likely final month as a TD. The reason? I'm a soldier at heart, always have been and you can't be in congress and be an active soldier.
I'm political in nature, I can add to the discussions, but the place for me is on the aircraft carrier with my kin, ready to deploy to a far flung region to defend sovereignty and honor in the name of brotherhood and/or EDEN 😉
I love to deploy almost as much as I love to defend our fair Isle, but as you know the most I could hope for this term was a training war, and even if we'd had that, it just wouldn't be enough for my battle-hardened-trigger-finger.
I will see out my term, because I took an oath to the people of Ireland to fulfill a promise and much like on the battlefield I can be counted on to do my job.
I learned from the best.
RIP DT
Yeah hunter same reason I dont run for congress anymore. I love to fight around the globe and im restricted from doing that by being a TD
CP etc. are top jobs for politicians, and the emphasis in erep is placed on politics, because politicians are more likely to stick with their country to make it great etc. As you have said, good soldiers have to go around the world, fighting for different flags. Maybe admins, them being so obviously capable, could create a kind of official (and by official I mean trophy worthy) Commander in Chief or type post for the country. It would be better then our best fighters acting as merceneries.
*Sigh*
Till then, happy hunting.
Both.
Politican, but this month I missed the Congress election, so I fought all ove the world! But now I'm broke!
well,i used to be ireland's 14th fighter + politician in v2 [:
now i'm just politician [:
Soldier everytime. Its not as if its real cutting edge politics TDs get into the Dail for, Id say 75% are only in it for the gold. To be honest its a bit silly when someone in eIreland can get elected with two votes. Fighting and ranking up are more important to me.
Soldier... And I really miss the V2 battles... I just go traveling around to find a good fight now. But it does break the bank rather quickly.
I've been a soldier ever since I came to this game. Under the US Armed Forces and also under the banner of paramilitary forces as well. Now, I want to try to do more in the realm of politics, but I just can't shake the feeling of tearing down the wall and fighting for a land's freedom. 8D
It depends. At the beginning I was a soldier, because I really liked to travel all around the world and fight. Now I am a politician, and I really like this part of the game too. So basically If you like to travel and hunt BH medals, means that you would be a good soldier, but if you like to chat on the forum and propose laws, etc, means that you need to be a politician.
