So Many Choices for Presidential Elections

24 Day 561, 15:40 Canada

This presidential election is one we haven't seen in awhile. For the last couple of months Bruck has been the general run-away candidate except for the one election where he had a tight matchup with Dominik. Voters in eCanada haven't had much of a variety to select from in the last few years but this month things should change. In the past few days leading up to the election there have been scandals tossed about, platforms arranged and interviews given and it should be a tight election. This is going to be the first election I have been around to see where have a boomer running. This is what my dream has always been, a boomer stepping up and running the country with different views than having a veteran run all the time. It is obvious that voters will have a hard time making a decision,

But now let's get down to the candidates. Currently there are three candidates in the running but it appears that only two are going to have a legitimate shot at winning the election. Here at The Alternate View I want to give you my opinion on each candidate and who to vote for. I know it may be tough for some people to decide but believe it or not, every vote counts and it likely will come down to only a few votes in this election. I want to give an "Alternate View" on what I think of each candidate, contrary to what all the veterans are currently saying. Now it is time to introduce to you the three candidates and my opinion on each:

Alexander Rearden: This is the man everyone thinks is going to walk away with the presidential elections on Friday. Rearden is one of the most well-known and most experienced veterans in eCanada and I'm sure that he will make a fine president. Although he might make a good president, he represents everything I hate about eCanada. You may find that to be a rather harsh statement but it has nothing at all to do with whether I like him or not. I don't have a problem with him but I am sick and tired of only hearing about veterans in power and only having their opinion heard. There needs to be change in eCanada and I am afraid with Rearden being a huge fan of Bruck that change just won't happen. I am not telling you not to vote for Rearden because he has the skills to make a solid president, I am just saying that it is time for a newer player to take over power in eCanada.

Jacobi: Jacobi is currently the "underdog" in this election as viewed by many but I would say he might be the favourite. Alex Rearden has two parties supporting him, the Canadian Empire Party and the Progressive Party of Canada. Jacobi on the other hand has four parties supporting him, the Canadian Social Democrats, the Canadian Paradox Party, the Democratic Action League and C.H.A.O.S. Although it could be argued that these parties don't have a lot of members it is likely combined they still have more than Rearden's supporting parties. Jacobi seems like a candidate that has a lot of new ideas and is interested in making some change to eCanada for the better. He is a boomer candidate and would be the first boomer president. He believes in enhancing the CAF to make us a better world power, a strong social service program and also government accountability which is something Rearden failed to show after he screwed up on a 200 gold loan he recently gave out. It might be a smart choice for us to start over with Jacobi.

Miloslav: Miloslav deserves props for running and I have a lot of respect for him but he will not win this election. He only has support from the Party National du Quebec which is his own party. He represents a lot of views from that party but those views are hardly shared by many people in eCanada from other parties. He has guts for trying to run and not a lot of people in eCanada can say that they tried to run for the president of a top country in the New World. So I want to give my approval to Miloslav but I can't see him winning president.

I hope that you enjoyed this rundown of each candidate. You may have a tough time deciding who to vote for on Friday but I will personally recommend Jacobi because he is going to represent the whole boomer population well and I believe he will try to incorporate younger players more into the political scene.

Everyone vote this up to get it to the top 5 so everyone will have a better understanding of each candidate from an alternate view. And if you feel happy, you can also subscribe!

This is Derek Harland signing off.

I don't think many people think Alex will take the election seat. Hell, I'm voting for him and I don't think he has an awesome chance with all the scandals surrounding him now, and I agree with you that Jacobi is the favorite.

Sorta reminds me of the recent real life USA election. AR being McCain, Jacobi being Obama, and Miloslav being Ron Paul or Ralph Nader.

Enough of my rambling though. Very good article. Voted.

I am not sure why that needed to be posted here but I am glad you commented, I am not intending on bringing anyone down by this article and I did compliment Rearden quite a few times.

Of course you realize that McCain and Obama had the same contributors.

Zbigniew Brzezinski along with one of his sons was Obama's Foreign Policy Advisor. His second son was McCain's advisor.

The higher up you go, the more everything looks like one big orgy.

Not exactly akin to eRepublik.

I voted for this article and imagined it was a vote for all the candidates but then realized I missed out on Tantis. Is he running?

@Tyler F. Durden

That is interesting. I honestly didn't know that, heh.

Though, I wasn't saying the election was amazingly like the RL election, I just mean't the young new gentelman with new ideas proclaiming change and the older gentelman that believes he knows what's best proclaiming change. Then the gentleman everyone respects. So, in a way it is infact like many things, but the election was the only thing I could think of.

Sorry for not being clear. And sorry for going off topic, Mr. Harland.

I would have prefered to see AR putting in as much effort commenting on the elephant in the room:

actually both tantis and derakor are not on the actual ballot so it is understandable why they werent included. they bring interesting ideas to the table but since they have no shot at winning i think he wanted to keep the article concise

@ Tyler: Jacobi is Obama? Holy cow! That's an insult to Obama. The CEP is not the GOP! People actually vote for the CEP. People actually respect the CEP (Scorpius excluded).

Does your analogy make Bruck as George HW Bush? Poor Bruck.

Saint Ziggy:

I never said Jacobi is like Obama. I wrote a post in response to Mr. Slaughter who compared the two.

Next time, read all the comments.
