Show of Force day, EZC style

Day 2,719, 04:13 Published in USA USA by MaryamQ

On day 2716 of the New World, EZC soldiers awoke with a mission. A Show of Force had been announced, and preparations were in place for our fighters to show what they could do and to have fun doing it. These preparations included tanks at 75% off market prices, food donations, and a large CO budget for all divisions. Soldiers had been prepared with daily briefings, a mass PM, and in-game shouts to get in on the fun, and the training program participants were allowed to fight without penalty for this one day. Runners were kept busy handing out supplies in advance so everyone would be ready. Plato even did his bit, by the surprise offering of an infantry kit aimed at lower divisions, enabling them to fight without gaining experience points.

Things started a little slow, but as Americans woke up, they got more interesting.

All day, the MU shout feed was active, with people reporting successes, encouraging one another, and giving challenges. When total damage was at 8 billion, WhydoIbother offered a gold incentive to one lucky poster on the daily briefing if total damage reached 25 billion for the day. EZC rose to the challenge, and as the goal came into sight, more members offered additional prizes.

In addition, there were many medals won in all divisions, including at least one first ever campaign hero medal. Many soldiers ended the day with over 1000 fights, and the MU damage for the day was second in the eWorld.

What do we take away from this day? Here are a few of the lessons, as I see them:

You don’t have to depend on Plato or your government to make the game fun.
Increasingly, it is private MUs that drive this game, and good officers drive the MUs. Whether they are big or small, MUs are where we find our communities these days. Officers who are creative and adaptable can inspire their soldiers to unimagined achievements and fun.

When we work together, we can do incredible things.
EZC is normally somewhere between 7th and 10th in the world. On this day, we were 2nd. The eUS is usually somewhere around 10th in damage. On this day, with a big push from EZC and others, the eUS came in 4th.

Given the opportunity, players can be wonderfully generous to one another.
From the planning stages to near the end of the day, donations kept coming in, helping to give everyone a chance to fight as much as possible, and to end the day a bit richer and a bit happier.

Proper support and nurturing of lower division players does pay off.
Patient building of strength can be wearing on young players, but there is no denying it is effective. When these players are finally unleashed, they are truly awesome. On the current leader boards for divisions 1, 2 and 3 for this week, more than half of the top 10 positions are held by soldiers wearing the EZC uniform. Their energy and enthusiasm, reflected in the MU feed, is inspiring on this or any day.

Do you believe this game is dying? Take a look at what can happen when players at all levels pull together and play as a team. That’s something only we can create and only we can destroy. EZC has restored my faith in this New World.

Thank you to everyone, officers, runners, and soldiers at all levels, who helped to make this awesome Show of Force day possible. CURRAHEE!
