Short part of a really long and old story

First, lets get some Airborne business over with. There will be some major changes for Non-officers. We are developing a new system of ranks. Next week, we will explain it.



This story does not have any relevance to airborne, it is an attempt to tell a story. I want to try to improve my writing skills, instead of just pictures. I will narrate a story about the kingdom of Hastin. This kingdom is in search of a rightful and honorable king, which eventually leads to huge civil war with brothers fighting each other. The first chapter is the history of Hastin, where the seed for the civil war are planted. It is a long story, so I will like to make it concise. I would really appreciate all of your feedback on it.



King Shan fathered 3 sons, Shima, Cheetah and Vista. Shima was the oldest and also a demi-god. Shima grew up with his mother in the god’s kingdom. Shima was trained and taught to be a honorable warrior by the gods for 15 years and did not know his father. Cheetah and Vista were the offspring of King Shan and his second wife Sayvi. Sayvi’s father was a poor fisherman, who only agreed to let the King marry Sayvi, if her offspring would be the heir to the kingdom. King Shan had agreed to Sayvi’s father’s request and Shima lost his right to the throne before ever meeting this father King Shan. Sayvi was worried that Shima’s offspring might challenge her grandkids for the right to rule, and it caused a divide between King Shan and Sayvi. Shima wanting to to see his father happy, promised Sayvi that he would live a life of celibacy.

After living a happy life, King Shan passes away and Cheetah, the older son, takes the throne. Cheetah has a short and uneventful reign before he dies with his wife before their time from an unfortunate accident. Next in line was Vista, however he was unmarried and could not be crowned King. Shima sets out and returns from a neighboring kingdom of Kasi with 2 brides Amy and Abby for Vista. Vista takes the throne after he weds both Amy and Abby. Amy, the older sister, closes her eyes when she meets Vista for the first time and so her son Dennis was born blind. Abby turns pale and bloodless when she first meets Vista, so her son Panda was born pale and weak. Sayvi asks Amy and Abby to have another child with Vista. Unable bear the pain of having another unhealthy child, they send a maid in their place. The maid gives birth to a third son Vidha, who was born healthy. After fathering three son, King Vista dies at young age in due to an illness.

For the next fifteen years, Hastin remains without a king as Dennis, Panda, and Vidha were sent to train with sages in the art of honor, fighting and ruling a kingdom. Sages hold knowledge and tasked by gods to pass it on to rightful rulers and those of royal bloodlines. They were not allowed to use this knowledge to gain fame and power for themselves.

After twenty years, Dennis, Panda and Vidha have all grown up. Dennis, even though blind, he becomes a well known and formidable warrior. Panda, even though weak, becomes a wise and honorable leader. Vidha, even though he is third in line and the son of a maid, he becomes the most honorable and ethical person, able to tell right from wrong in any matter of politics. Vidha was made the Prime Minister by the Queen Sayvi and Shima; his job was to help guide the king and the kingdom to make ethical and honorable decisions for the future of Hastin. When Dennis was about to be named the heir to Hastin by Shima; Vidha points out that a blind man cannot lead a country due to the fact that he cannot see the pain and suffering of this subject to make a proper decision. Hence, Panda becomes the heir of Hastin, which makes Dennis enraged and fuels his inferiority complex.



Shima wanting to put a king on the throne, he contacts the neighbor kingdom for their princess hand for Panda. Before Shima setting out, Panda tells him that he will not marry anyone until his older brother Dennis is married. Shima return with 2 princesses from 2 neighboring countries. Jude who is arranged to wed Dennis is saddened to find out that her future husband is blind, and so she blindfolds herself to better understand her future husband’s plight. Jody is set to marry the crown prince Panda. After both royal weddings, Panda takes the throne. Dennis being very viral, has 100 sons and Panda has 5 sons. Panda seeing that his older brother has been upset for not being able the rule, promises him that after his death, the next ruler will be the most worthy of the 105 princes. Shortly after taking the throne, a neighboring kingdom declares war on Hastin for making such a weak and unhealthy person their king. To prove his worth Panda set out to war. He returns victorious, however is fatally wounds and dies within few days of his return.



Once again Hastin is left without a King. Dennis is made the temporary king until one of the 105 princes are able to take the throne. The 100 sons of Dennis hate and despise the 5 sons of Panda. This rivalry evolves over the next 10 years when they are sent away to be trained by sages in the art of ruling a kingdom. This rivalry engulfs the whole kingdom of Hastin. Next chapter of this epic will entail the how war starts between the sons of Dennis and Panda.
