S.E.E.S.: In Conflict and Victory
4th Operation: Counteroffensive

We waited silently in the briefing room, the tension thick in the air. We didn’t know much about tonight’s operation, only that there would be one. Even that began to be doubted, as the briefing had been delayed twice already. Several of the younger soldiers had begun grumbling, as Max Wallingbottom III walked in. “Gentlemen,” he began, “I will be giving each of you sealed orders. You are not to open them until I give the order, and then you are not to speak a word of what is contained inside until the battle has begun.”

“The first one of you who blabbers top secret information on an open radio channel will receive LEVEL 5 PUNISHMENT.” The terror of the more easily spooked soldiers was audible. “Before you gear up, we have a guest for tonight’s operation.” The man who walked in needed little introduction, as he was one of the most powerful and influential men in the world.

“Max Mcfarland has recently returned from an operation that I am not at liberty to discuss. He’ll be dropping in with us tonight.” Suddenly, his secure cell phone rang. A look of urgency appeared on his face, and he said, “Everyone gear up and report to your transport, double time!” The assembled Super Soldiers hastily saluted, and walked briskly to the armory. I walked over to where Max and Wallingbottom were standing. “Hello Max, my name is ArcNox, and it’s an honor to meet you. I look forward to fighting with you” I extended my hand in greeting. “I’ve been away for a while, and I might be a bit rusty.” he gripped my hand and shook it. I turned to Wallingbottom and asked, “What was that about?” He looked around to make sure no stragglers were within earshot, and whispered, “That was President Krems. We’re close to commencing the attack. I can’t say any more for now.”

“I understand,” I said, saluted, and headed out to the airfield to oversee the loading of my tank into the C-130.

---

It was twenty minutes into our flight, with full navigation blackout, that Wallingbottom finally gave the word to open the orders. I broke the seal, and quickly read the orders. I stared, wide eyed, at what this piece of paper said. We were assaulting the Russian stronghold in Far Eastern Russia. The last failed invasions under the Choc and Reala administrations quickly came to mind, and my first thoughts were “My DIO, we’re walking into our slaughter.” Any such thoughts were interrupted by the sexy voice of St Krems

“GENTLEMEN, tonight we attempt to do what no President has managed before, tonight we attempt the impossible. However, through DIO’s glory, even the impossible becomes certain. We will fight this day, and we will triumph, for I believe in the sun, even though it is slow in rising.
I believe in you, without realizing.
I believe in rain, though there are no clouds in the sky.
I believe in truth, even though people lie.
I believe in peace, though sometimes I am violent.
I believe in Dio Brando, even though he is silent.”

“May DIO guide you, and keep you safe.”

Krems’ sexy voice was replaced by the not quite as sexy Wallingbottom.

“We are three minutes from the target. All S.E.E.S. Super Soldiers, prepare for drop.”

I strapped myself into the tank, and double checked the parachute systems. I glanced over our orders again. We were to land, then move at full speed towards the capital. With any luck, we would catch the Russians napping, and take the region with little resistance. Suddenly, alarms rang, and the cargo door opened. Several seconds later, the tank lurched backwards, as it began to slide outside the aircraft. Then, another jerk as the parachute deployed. With several landings’ experience behind me, I braced myself so as not to bash my head on the dashboard on the sudden impact of landing. I landed with a thud, and quickly released the parachute. I surveyed my surroundings for enemy threats, and called out “ArcNox on the ground, no targets sighted. Proceeding to operational objective.” I maxed out the throttle, and charged headlong towards the capital. As I cleared into more open ground, I was amazed at the amount of American forces that had dropped in in so short a time. And yet the sky was still filled transports and parachutes, as even more dropped in every minute. What little resistance there was quickly overwhelmed, and within minutes we were in control of the capital, Defense System, and Hospital.

We began digging in for the inevitable counterattack. Just as I was positioning my tank in a camouflaged position, Wallingbottom’s voice came over the radio. “All SS units, emergency recall! Proceed immediately to extraction points, and get ready to redeploy. We just got emergency orders from the President. The Canadian government has asked for support against the redcoats, and we’re it.”

I quickly rolled down the hill, and moved to my designated extraction point. Once there, I lit a red flare and called down one of the transport helicopters to carry my tank back to the nearest airfield, where we rearmed, refueled, and loaded back into our transports. Within minutes, we were on our way to the British Isles to send much needed assistance to our Canadian bros.

---

I looked down at Northwest of England as I drifted toward the ground in my tank. The Canadians were holding the line just short of the capital. We were dropping behind enemy lines to hit the redcoat flank. I braced for landing, and saw the helicopters rush towards the enemy capital. I didn’t have long to look, as shortly after landing we quickly engaged several enemy tanks. Resistance didn’t last long, as the redcoats were pushed between the Canadians, us, and other US military/militia units dropped in. Just as I was about to go off hunting for more redcoats, Wallingbottom called out to me on my radio, “ArcNox, disengage and hold at your current position. I’m sending one attack helo to your position. You are to take it, and open up a LZ in West Midlands region.”

“Copy that, holding position.”

Within 10 minutes, an AH-15 attack helicopter landed next to my position. The pilot, a reservist from the Quartermaster corps, quickly gave me the keys, hopped into my tank, and rolled off in the direction of the extraction point. I jumped into the cockpit, and started up the engine. It hummed as it came up to speed, and I quickly lifted off, and headed towards the next battle.

---

I had skirted the enemy anti air defenses to the north, and secured an LZ east of the river. I kept a watchful eye for incoming air units, as C-130s dropped Brolliance tanks a short distance from the capital. I looked to the south, and watched as another Brolliance armored column pushed north. As we prepared to assault the capital with what troops we had, over the radio Wallingbottom called out “We’ve secured Northwest of England, requesting landing zone coordinates.”

“Roger that Commandant, sending LZ coordinates to your GPS display.”

“Copy that, we’ll be ready to drop in 2 minutes.”

The capital quickly fell under the pincer attack carried out by Brolliance forces. In short order, the Canadian flag flew high over the capital, as it would for many capitals throughout the UK.

“Good job SS, you have done your country proud. Proceed to extraction points and return to base for redeployment to FER. We‘ll dig in and defend it overnight”

I quickly refueled, and as I began the long flight home, I looked one last time at the capital, and wished our bros luck in their war, as we returned to ours.

Tomorrow the real battle begins.
