Today I want to announce my candidacy for President of the eUSA in the coming March elections in just 22 days. Over the past week, the first week of Uncle Sam's hard-fought Presidency, I have weighed whether or not to delay running for this office until Sam had proven whether he deserved a second term. However, after seeing the last week of his Presidency I have decided that a second term for Uncle Sam would be a disaster for this country for various reasons.
For as long as Sam has plotted, wrote long articles where he interviewed himself, and schemed in the depths of IRC to get people to like him so that he could achieve this office I would have thought he would have assumed command with a more of a game plan. However, he took the office and it took him several days to announce his cabinet and in that time he has finally started to acquaint himself with the eUSA Forums ... and it is a steep learning curve.
The eUSA Forums (located at http://erepublikusa.com/ at present) are the seat of government for the eUSA as this is where Congress meets to discuss policy, propose laws, and then propose and vote on them in-game. Sam is just figuring out that there is a Congress ... and that he doesn't control it ... and he doesn't like it. Rather than try to work with the Congress he has demanded that they let him set fiscal policy but as a 3-term member of that Congress I can tell you that this Congress has a mind of its own. I can't say that I like the direction that Congress has been heading, but I at least understand how it works.
The war module is about to go on-line again in eRep and based upon what Sam has written in his lengthy articles it would seem that we will soon be on the warpath again. I hope that we do not bite off more than we can chew as the last war cost a lot of money and didn't get us much ... though we did convince France to help re-establish Switzerland ... which Sam proposed an embargo against today that passed the Congress.
Indeed, I haven't seen Sam aggressively debating what needs to happen to put the country back on track. In fact it hardly seems as though he has adequately read the materials that come before or after his posts as he often seems to be on his own wavelength on the Forums.
And speaking of a class of e-citizens who are on their own wavelength ... what's up with these CVP and the fiscal conservatives that are crawling all over the eUSA government right now? It's as if they hail Sam as their King and are drawn to the light of Sam (perhaps thinking he's Regan by accident).
In any event, these emboldened conservatives have started to wreck the country already with their constant and very vocal demands that the Congress lower taxes and do other fiscal policies that barely have real world application let alone within the mechanics of this game. Following the Fiscal Cons will lead this nation to ruin and it will happen on Sam's watch because they seem to think he is paving the way for DessertFalcon to come in and sweep their ideas into eRep ... at which point the game would no longer be fun for many who have been talking to me about leaving eRep this week ... or the eUSA at least. The thing that many Americans find most fun ... WAR ... is being undercut by guys who have a bug up their ass when it comes to taxes when they don't realize that you really can't buy much in this game anyway that isn't related to war in some way.
Vote Scrabman for an opportunity to change the game back around.
Vote Scrabman in support moderate and fair tax plans.
Vote Scrabman who will lend the military out in small units to countries who need our support rather than starting costly wars (an alternative to poorly thought out war games that still gets our soldiers trained).
Vote Scrabman to engage in foreign diplomacy that will make this nation prosperous once again.
Mostly just .... vote Scrabman!

I'm just announcing Publius. I'm not going to dog Sam every step of the way. I'm just trying to get my campaign together and get a VP selected. It wouldn't be right to shout down everything that Sam does while he does it or to try to be an obstructionist.

Wayyy to early, we have not even got to party elections much less congress elections which is when campaign season typically kicks off. You could of given Uncle Sam a bit more time to before ripping into him.
Since your not running for reelection for PP how do you know if the new PP is going to nominate you for potus candidate?

Good point change. Well, my party approached me two months ago about being a Presidential or a VP candidate for them and I was shocked. I never thought of myself as being THAT political. Since then I've served as Party President for 1 and a half terms and will be handing it over to my Chief of Staff ProggyPop in a few days so that I can run my campaign. I will remain on the USWP Executive Board and they are free to pass me over for the nomination but that doesn't mean that I won't get the nomination of another Party like the UIP or the Libertarians.
Whatever happens happens and I'm not going to get too upset about it. I'll just do my best.

yeah this is way too early to be starting a campaign of any sorts. Not only are you basing a lot of this off of the first week, but early assumptions will lead to the discredit of your arguments. Furthermore, campaigning this early does not in any way help the country. Judge if I "deserve" a second term by at least three weeks in office, not by the first.

Can you link to evidence of Sam being on "his own wavelength" in the forums?
Also I would say Sam is probably not a great friend of the "Fiscal Cons" since he opposed the tax decrease.
First, NO one runs a election in advance besides Michel Lewis and your not my god!
Second, I have read what you said about the Military. You claim the Military is self-governed, needs to be put on a shorter leash, and that we might one day rebel. As Lt. General of the eUS Army I deny and question your intelligence. As a eUSA citizen I say shut up. How does one rebel?

I am the CVP party president and I am not AAP in anyway. I endorsed Sam in the last election and thats really the only connection I have to him.

The USWP will back scrab as they are itching to get one of their own in the presidency. UIP is most likely going to endorse Joeph Cole and the Libs would never endorse a USWP candidate.
Never say never my friend. I don't do things the regular old ways. I find it interesting how so many of you are just shocked that someone would announce candidacy so early. Well, first let me note that both Dessertfalcon and Alby have already signed up and Alby even went ahead and nominated himself as his party's candidate where I am leaving that to my successor.
Further, why is everyone so surprised? I have been talking about running for weeks now and I made no secret of the fact that I don't think Sam has what it takes to be President. So, with all due respect, I don't owe him anything. I'm not your average candidate afterall ... I'm scrabman. 🙂
Thats for sure. Your the man who wants to put more control of the Military in your hands. That spells screw the Generals im running the show. If you weren't aware people weren't happy with Benn messaging people and handing out orders rather than going down the line, Benn no offense thats probably the only problem I had with you and I have problems with everyone 😃. Scrab you also have it in your mind that the Military is going to rebel. That there needs to be questioned.
Maybe im the only one who wonders about you and some of the things you have said about the military. Maybe if you changed some of those views and things you have said ill be WAY more inclined to vote for you but that remains to be seen.

Oh ... and something else I should add to my military experience. I have had a lot of people under my command. Joe DaSmoe was one of my best soldiers until he went on to the Marines as did several others. During war I would be in constant contact with my men and would see that their needs were met through the Quartermaster system. In fact, when Joeph asked me to pick a Platoon Sergeant I picked Killing Time specifically because I knew he had been one of the general Quartermasters under Moishe's Army. Though I didn't know Killing Time very well it was one of the best decisions I could have ever made as he made sure to supply not just my Platoon, but the entire Company and I was honored to suggest him to Captain Dubi as the Quartermaster of India Company.
My Platoon was always informed of what was happening, they always had weapons when they were available, and I instructed them about fighting tips and other advice to assist them in their battles. There was a time when Dubi had to leave town for a weekend when he relied on me to interpret what President Dover was trying to do and to relay instructions to my Platoon as well as the other Platoons in our Company because, by that time, we had to read tea leaves and issue our own orders to command the troops effectively because we were not getting orders from the top.
That is my military experience.

I know nothing yet of sam's policies, nor scranman's opinion og him. However, scrabman 's is free to post every opinion on any topic regardless, of public opinion. I wish a successful presidencvy to Uncle sam, for he is the president. but this campaign is for the future not the present. Scrabman is being timely, concise, and planning well in advance as usual. Those are qualities I find rather appealing in a presidential candidate.
Every congressman, and countless friends and colleagues will vouch for this man's intense interest and devotion to congressional discussion, to the fair and rational management of this nation, and personal resolve to get us back on the right path. I wish you all could know who he really is, see past the petty inter party rivalries, and see that he is not who his political detractors and trolls wish to portray him as.
Given time and support, I believe scrabman can be the one who leads us into a new era of prosperity and the unification of the office of the president with the congress for a more efficient, transparent, and integrated government.
