It's just a votation to make USA neutral, all accordingly to Atlantis treaty. It isn't a betrayal, Scrabman is just following his obligations, which I thank him for.

I'm not sure exactly why he proposed this yet. It doesn't seem like a wise choice unless he already has an agreement from Sweden to cease hostilities.

All this really does is delay the battle 9 days and even if they do that Sweden will still have to fight off the U.K. and other countries. I fully support Germany and will move there once my term as PP is up.

Our Treaty with ATLANTIS requires us to remain neutral in this conflict as Sweden is a full member of ATLANTIS.

That piece of the atlantis contract was not written with the idea that an Atlantis nation would attack another Atlantis nation.
The Atlantis contract was written as a defensive alliance, if anything it would dictate that you must support Germany.

Unfortunately the Atlantis charta did not forsee the event of one Atlantis member attacking another one and thus happens to contradict itself. Whoever wrote it, was obiously thinking that no country could possible ever sink that low. Now technically the US is bound to defend us, while also being bound to not fight against Sweden.

While I was of course hoping to watch the mighty eMarines defend the shores of Schleswig-Holstein against the Swedish invasion force with all guns blazing, I do have to accept Scrabman's decision.

This is part of why we are planning to leave ATLANTIS Starkad. It's totally FUBARED. We gave our notice today that we are planning to leave and will likely do so in the very near future and then won't have to be bound by all of the myriad of rules that seem to be what ATLANTIS is best at.

Sweden violated the charter first... can you view them as members after that? if you argue correctly, and say no, you don't violate the charter by aiding Germany..

And do you want to build a new alliance with countries like Sweden that systematically invade their own allies?

PEACE was initially formed to counter ATLANTIS's territorial aggression against smaller and weaker nations, and we have lost a lot of potential support simply because ATLANTIS will always be known as the Imperialist Aggressor. You are planning to leave ATLANTIS, but at the same time are planning to form a new alliance with exactly the same countries that gave ATLANTIS it's bad reputation in the first place.

Support Germany, not Sweden, and history will remember you as a liberator, as the guy who stood up for David instead of Goliath.

Scrabman did say two things in his announcement (paraphrased):
a distasteful and unfortunate diplomatic obligation, etc., to support Sweden against Germany.
no obligation to fight, if you feel so strongly we're welcome to fight for Germany with no hard feelings.

@ Jon Barack Bluejacket, I just want clarify something along the issue of the Turkish MPP. Our government said no to it however certain political powers decided otherwise along with many congressmen not checking the forums. It was not discussed in eGermany and we have commented that we did not wish that alliance.

We want nothing more than to see eGreece and eIsrael free and independent, we have fairly good relations with both said nations. This alliance was not something that was meant to happen it was done by inactive and paranoid congressmen. As such we will still take fault on it because it was our congressmen whom signed it.

This hear like an compromise, that all Americans doesn't want.

I agree. Scrabman has been put in a horribly tough position by Sweden. Supporting Sweden is likely the safer and wiser choice for a secure American future, whereas going against the ATLANTIS charter and supporting Germany against Sweden is the moral choice, despite the technicality that Germany was never really in ATLANTIS.
It's a tough call to make, and I certainly wouldn't want to be President right now, but I support neutrality. I don't have a problem with expansionism, but turning on a country who wanted to join ATLANTIS and become our ally is in poor form.

Its not a betrayal, its a way to keep the US neutral in this conflict.
