Scrabman / Bastion for June!
A lot has changed in the world since I announced that I will be running for a third term as President of the eUSA this Friday, June 5th, 2009.

ATLANTIS failed and all of its member nations started dividing up into smaller interests, one of which has centered around the war in Germany. Through all of this Vice President Moishe has been a great friend, confidante, and supporter in achieving the goals of a stronger America. However, Moishe tells me that he is pretty busy so he will have to decline running for office one more time so that the job may get done by a new person who will have the time and energy to devote to the Office of the Vice President.
Thus, I am announcing Bastion as my new Vice Presidential candidate for the June 2009 election. I've known Bastion for most of his eRep life as he has been a long time employee of mine over at Scrab Holdings. We haven't always agreed but he has risen to prominence within his party (the CVP) as well as within the military as he is currently the General commanding the eUSA Mobile Infantry and an integral part of our Military infrastructure. Bastion has served with distinction in the military and has also been a member of Congress. Further, Bastion has also been a helper around the eUSA Forums for quite a while as one of our dedicated Moderators. Through all of this I believe he has demonstrated his supreme competence to handle the task of Vice President.
Starting with my selection of Moishe 2 months ago I have asked the Vice President to work to strengthen our Military. I think that Bastion will be able to continue this tradition and that his background will be perfect for that task. I have also asked another member of the Mobile Infantry, Loftedraptor, to join my cabinet next term as my Secretary of Defense or as an undersecretary in the Defense Department. I think that the combination of Bastion and Loftedraptor will do much to improve our position in an ever changing world while we work to figure out what our new alliance situation will be. Both are also significantly older than the average player of eRepublik which has proven to be a successful formula in bringing a level of professionalism to running the government. Both Bastion and Loftedraptor are great players, any cabinet with them in it is sure to be a good one.

I did have my differences with Moishe at times but he did do a great job as Vice President.
You got my vote as usual Scrabman unless I am asked to vote elsewhere to prevent or attempt to prevent a PTO elsewhere.
I encourage all of you to educate yourselves on Scrabman's polices and past accomplishments. I encourage you to ignore the fact he runs under USWP. I also encourage you to learn about the other candidates and decide if not voting for Scrabman who has successfully ran this country for 2 months is really a great idea. We are in a time of need and EVEN if you feel Scrabman has screwed up it is all the more reason to reelect him cause only he can undo his so called "screw ups".
And with this pick, scrabman gets the vote of every MI soldier for fear of being discharged

I need to clarify that Loft will be the Sec Def when tdwester is finished with the post. I wasn't sure if he wanted to stay on next term and it would seem that he is. Either way, Loftedraptor has been an ardent supporter and one who has worked to improve our military and he will still be involved in assisting tdwester in whatever capacity that he needs as an undersecretary or maybe he'll even take Bastion's place as General of the MI. These are all things that we will work out after Friday.

The ticket will get the vote of every MI solider, but only because we know our General Bastion will do such an amazing job for the country! From everything I've seen, scrabman and Bastion combined will be far more than the sum of their parts, and their parts are pretty darn impressive.
I agree with Dania. I used to dislike Scrabman myself, voted against him the last two times in a row, but instead of just bitching, whining and complaining about issues, I send him a PM and RESPECTFULLY ask him. As the President of the United States of America, I granted him that respect and because of that, we were able to talk it out.
I now see his POV and I understand mine. Yes he's made mistakes, No, he's not perfect, BUT he's qualified, experienced and under him, I've seen some great things happen in the eUS Military. I am a member of the CVP, and probably always will, but I will vote here on abilities and experience. Scrabman has my vote.
You can ask him something, just don't be an interrogating, insulting, accusing ass about it. It seems like most of the people getting stonewalled by him are the ones doing JUST that. Bastion as his VP pick is a great decision and will continue his show of good judgment. Bastion represents commitment, experience and he follows his principles. This further connection with the eUS Military will help grow eMerica's strength and recognition on the global stage.
The inclusion of Loftedraptor into his decision making process will prove INVALUABLE. Bastion and Loftedraptor build the Mobile Infantry into what it is now, in no small part due to their knowledge and abilities.
I see people criticizing Scrabman all the time, but they don't actually go after the facts. It's a smear campaign, pure and simple. If you don't like him, give reasons, and don't bitch about how he doesn't do just what you want. He's a free and independent thinker, leader and provides good judgement. He has earned my respect, my vote and most of all, my TRUST.

Also, not sure why people complain about scrabman not unleashing the military. The only ones who should complain about that, should be those in the military.
Oh wait, then again, he did say if they wanted to go fight to turn in their resignation ( As such a move would make them a eCitizen again and free to choose on their own ). It's not like he was bending their arm backwards.
He did give plenty of room for the people to make the choices ( Such as Congress choosing the peace with eSweden/Poland ). So lets grow a brain here and put some thought into his moves. He's not a bad ePresident.

Congress (while I was there) voted against peace with Sweden and for an MPP with Germany. Many congressman urged the President to uphold our alliance with Germany and defend them, however scrabman stated he saw no reason for us to stick by our ally. Of course, later he said he would not let Germany's regions fall, but we all know how that's turned out. Still, while he may have presented "choices", he coupled these "choices" with restrictions and enforced such "free will" in a way to where he could get what he alone wanted. (i.e. citizens can fight...but will be discharged from their Guard units for doing so. Meanwhile, he fights, gets a hero medal and refuses to respond to those questioning why he has not been discharged from the military and where the money to win a hero medal came from...i.e. allowing Congress to vote for/against peace, but not enforcing the will of the legislative branch by holding back the military)
Time and time again, I've heard nothing but talk of "neutrality", "not rushing into alliances", and "the military is being held back for fear of PEACE attacking", only to find that the President has allowed our troops to attempt a PTO in Italy, Marines to fight in a resistance war in Thessaly while other troops are grounded, and a call from the eUK president warning of the latest PTO in South Africa, go ignored.
This president has shown he has his own agenda and the fact he is ignoring other leaders just goes to prove that he should not be re-elected.
I hear he smells like wet dog a lot... and due to his penchant for honey he ends up sticking to a lot of things.... other then that HOOAH!

Im not voting Scrabman. I oppose the policy of trying to align with Sweden and Poland. In fact, I just moved here from Germany, because my region has been polish, swedish and german all within the last 2 weeks. (and because Im American in RL). But anyways, I really feel that the US should have stayed 100% Nuetral, and the last thing they should have done was not help Germany. Germany was the victem.
I still don't understand how people don't see the facts. I'm not saying I'm for or against Scrab because I honestly haven't decided.
eSweden attacks eGermany for kicks. THEY ARE THE AGGRESSORS. It would be different if they were going back and forth, but it was just a fight in which eGermany continues to get mobbed. They are being hostile for the sake of being hostile. We ignore our MPP and turn our cheek because we don't want to face the bully? WHAT?!
In addition, we sign peace treaties with both ePoland and eSweden on the terms that they will quit attacking eGermany. Within 24 hours, they're getting mobbed again and now eAmericans don't even have the option to fight. Can we really trust this kind of judgement?
And then to instruct the military to not fight for fear of being discharged, just to fight himself and become a war hero (I don't believe he actually won the medal, but he was for a short period) despite the fact that he himself, is in the military?

I have butted heads with Scrab over various issues. In particular, Sweden-Germany.
As I've said, I haven't always seen eye to eye with Scrab.
When I have had a dispute, I have written comments and articles, and even PM'd Scrab. It is not my nature to be quiet when I have a strong opinion. Another President might have said "you're a hater, I'm not talking anymore". Scrab never did that. He kept engaging me, as long as I stayed rational and civil. And as far as I can see, that's what he does with everyone who argues with him.
I could almost never say he was out and out wrong, just that we had different views.
Like I said, I can't honestly say I agree with everything Scrab has done.
But, in looking around, I can't say that this country would be better served by anyone else.
That may be a back-hand way of doing it, but for the the record, that's an endorsement.

Did people from the eUS take advantage of the MPP to defend eGermany or not? Did scrabman actually win Hero or was he just up there for a amount of time before the battle closed? Is scrabman really in the military himself or just the ePresident ( I hear conflictions with this ) ?
