Save money on food by shopping though the Q's

Day 2,692, 02:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Department for Education

Hello all, Max Blue here again. This article points out how you can save a bit of extra money by shopping around through different Q's of food to find the cheapest energy gains.

To save money you want to find the most cost effect 'Q' and buy that. Currently UK prices are; Q1 = 0.05,
Q2 = 0.09, Q3 = 0.13, Q4 =0.18, Q5 = 0.32, Q6 = 0.50 and Q7 = 0.66.

Q1 provides 2 health per food, Q2 4 health, Q3 6, Q4 8, Q5 10, Q6 12 and Q7 20. To compare them we need to bring each Q to a comparable price. If we divide Q2 food buy 2 we will make it comparable to Q1 food. Q3 food would need to be divided by 3, Q4 by 4, Q5 by 5, Q6 by 6 and Q7 by 10. This breaks down the energy gained by eating the food to 2 health so all can be compared against Q1 food.

So at current UK prices Q1 = 0.05 per 2 health gained, Q2 = 0.045 per 2 health gained, Q3 = 0.043 per 2 health gained, Q4 = 0.045, Q5 = 0.064, Q6 = 0.083 and Q7 = 0.066. To maximise your money under current market conditions you would buy Q3 food.
