“As of 18:00 eRepublik time, congress has passed a peace treaty…”
Now there are many Americans, who strongly disapprove of this peace treaty, but what is done is done and it is time to look to the future. With the signing of this treaty the US has a window of 4 months before the treaty expires and PEACE can start invading again. In this 4 month time frame it is up to the US to rapidly grow its economy and military force; to rebuild infrastructure (Hospitals and Defense Systems) and experience a baby boom.
Economy and Military Force
A strong Economy is key for a strong military. A good military takes a lot of gold and weapons to keep up and running. Also the US has to pay reparations for each state it lost with the exception of AK, CA, and HI. Those states are to remain under PEACE occupation. But as we regain our states our economy will expand rapidly. At the moment our economy is completely tanking. Most of our businesses are behind enemy lines, workers are having a problem finding work in certain fields and resources are hard to come by. If the US wants a shot at regaining its complete independence, it will have to use this period to grow rapidly and then fight it out.
Infrastructure
After the war, much of our infrastructure was destroyed. We lost a lot of hospitals and defense systems. In this 4 month window, the US needs to rebuild its hospitals and defense systems to even higher then pre-war levels. Regions with high resources should have Q5 hospitals and defense systems to create a “wall” effect to protect those key resources. Our current strategy of having 2 really populated states (NJ and FL) creates two almost impossible to conquer regions, but when pushed back to those two states; the US has practically no economic power and therefore hardly any military power.
Baby Boom
After the war, the US needs to grow its population again. Many other countries in the war have started experiencing a population boom during the war and the US needs to follow suit. The US needs to take great care in educating its new populous and training them how to fight properly. Also keep new citizens interested and working. An inactive citizen is of little use to the US compared to one that is working and continually growing stronger.

Excellent points. I hope we can stop the finger pointing and political grandstanding long enough to accomplish them.

Well written article. It's refreshing to see a paper that understands that what is done is done, and that we need to use this time to rebuild instead of fighting petty squabbles about what we should have done.

Good article Azol. This treaty may not be what everyone wanted, but it does afford us a fantastic opportunity to expand, educate, and prepare for future incidents like the war we just had.

And what do you think PEACE is going to be doing in the coming months...nothing?
@MaeMae All the countries that signed the Peace Treaty will be unable to attack the US for 4 months and they won't break the treaty because that will lead to a penalty (enforceable by the Admins).
Now Peace could (and will) continue to attack and beat back our allies, but we are still able to defend our allies although we won't be able to directly attack PEACE ourselves.
Now only the Russians are holding up this process by doing... whatever those pesky Russians decide to do. But I'm pretty sure they will eventually sign the Peace Treaty as well.
So all we have to do is grow faster then Peace does or maybe hope for some internal conflict or something.

This is the best we're likely to get. Building ourselves up as best we can is really all we can do. If it isn't enough, then we will find ourselves in this same situation again. It is our job as eAmericans to see that it is enough.
