Recent Updates/Resistance Wars, Everywhere!

Day 2,047, 06:18 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Hello All!

It’s time for more updates. Firstly, seeing as last time doing it lastly in an article of things that were in no specific order caused a hubbub, we shall discuss this missing moolah. My MoF staff remain confident that it was taken rather than it being as I previously suspected, a discrepancy in our records. I have been in touch with a moderator and an admin this week, as well as previous presidents and fiscal staff to try and figure out why and where it has gone.

The admin team have tried to look into it, but like the mod who first explored this issue for me, have been unable to find out where it has gone. This is, according to them, due to server failures around the 5th which have meant that there are no transaction logs for the two orgs involved (or any orgs) around that time.

I have also been in touch with previous administrations, and I have found out that over at least the past 6 months, the finance orgs had no blanket change of passwords until the current administration began changing passwords around the 6th - when we noticed some had gone missing. That’s over 6 months of people who until just after the elections may have had some access.

The next step is to simply keep rooting around to see what, if anything can be dug up, or see if anything remains to be found. I have also asked the admins if, seeing as they can’t provide transaction logs, if they would be able to return us any cash. This is not something the admins really do anymore, but I thought I’d be a touch facetious and ask anyway. As to who dunnit, it seems as though short of compiling a list of all possible suspects and investigating each one with any hardcore evidence, we may not find out who took it. We will build up a list of who it may have been, but there is only so much we can get out of doing so. All that remains to say about this is that it emphasises the importance of changing passwords every month. It was the first thing I had done in office, it should be the first thing everyone does when they get in office.

Resistance Wars Galore

Never did I think I would see the day when there would be as many as three RW’s in the United Kingdom at any one time. As we currently occupy three countries, it is possible! And so you ought to know where we stand, and what is going on.

The most important one is the USA. In any RW’s you see involving the USA, remember to fight for the resistance. These regions are being transferred to Poland for a long-term occupation, something that will not be achieved if non-Superpowers like the eUK hold them. So, we are liberating them. A reason we are trying to ensure the success of the liberation is because we have to have returned them to the USA before Poland’s attacks succeeds. If a RW here fails, Poland will lose it’s border and thus it’s NE War, which would slow things down for them and generally be inconvenient. So, over the next few days, if you choose to fight in a USA region owned by the eUK, fight for the resistance.

Recently we kept winning them, but once the UK-FU (Federalised Units/National Military Scheme) was put into place, we began to see different results. It was a great and succesful start for the scheme, liberating Massachusetts just in time. The invasion was great fun, and I managed to give us a dice to throw, but our hand has been played and we have other tables to game on.

Tables like Belgium! This is a somewhat strange story. Factions of the Belgian parliament and representatives from their government contacted me previously to ask for a wipe in order to combat a PTO they are resisting. Between them launching an NE proposal and stalling the attack (quick timing was needed) it seems they were unsure on whether to follow through with it or not, and some members of their government were replaced. However, their NE had passed so in many ways, our hand was forced.

The RW currently open is considered rogue, and the Belgian authorities have said that they want it to lose, mainly because it will stop the war dragging out. So, if you fancy it fight for the eUK in Flanders.

The current agreement stands at the eUK wiping Belgium, and from there we will discuss how and when to get regions back to Belgium once they decide whether or not they want them. In the meantime, let’s enjoy the NE bonus and the empire.

Irish RW’s have lately been launched in Cork. Now, according to the settlement we made with them, this region is theirs for the taking, however the irish CP, Sw33ty, has mentioned that he will not be exerting their power in freeing the region and is fine with it remaining in the UK’s hands for short while as a ‘buffer’ in the peace agreement, ie. a second region surrounding the fruits in Shannon - a show of good faith on his part, and a further reassurance for our bonus. These battles can therefore be ignored.

The most important thing is to SUBSCRIBE to the MoD newspaper for up-to-date orders!

Domestic Stuffs

Well the main thing I want to emphasise here is Redcoat Week, just some fun and games going on to accompany the invasion of the USA. As with all MoHA competition weeks, there will be prizes. We are in the process of sorting out a new under-Minister for entertainment (send me a message if you are interested) and once that is sorted, you can expect more games to get under way. In the meantime, check out the eUK Steam Group or the eUK Supremacy1914 alliance. Message me for details. 🙂

Another brief comment I would like to make is on Congress, who have been newly elected and all seem eager to start. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you all for your shiny medals and offer a small insight into something you are already talking about - the speaker. The speaker is a great way of having a congress led by congress, not by the executive. Separating these two bodies, I personally see as being very important in encouraging the scrutiny and accountability that congress is expected to provide. Not only that, but it offers structure and organisation, which although you may not think it, congress really needs. Apart from that, go have a great and active month discussing the speaker act, there are always improvements that can be made. o7
