Reasons to stay

I am getting to the point already where i can see this game being frustrating to no end, and being such a time sink for such little return.
What keeps you playing the game? We all have our reasons, but for most of us I think it is investment. Many of you have put money into the game and want to get the most out of it, not wanting to 'waste' it. All of us have invested huge numbers of hours into this game trying to make it interesting.
I just question whether the investment is worth continuing to use your time and possibly money to prolonge this experience. What stops you from playing another more rewarding game? Or reading? or (heaven forbid) sleeping more?
What is it for you?
How much longer can you take this games reputation for leaving its community short changed?

Good question. I wish I could give an answer as to why continue to play this sh*tty game. Perhaps it's the community and/or false sense of hope that the admins will make it playable once again. Hard to know really...
I have a strange idea for the game. Why not have the game 'reset' every year on January 1?
That is, as a player you still keep your level, points, gold, etc... - but all nations get back original territories and for a week, it's open slather citizenship where you can move anywhere?
At least it would give small countries hope. If they were having a bad year, no problems, next year that might get citizens to their country that could help them win battles.
Just a thought.
again, another hopeful great idea. but will anything like that get through. I just dont know.
