Introduction
I don't normally to toot my own horn - but I'm interested in participating in Congress.
My name is Quin2k, and if you've been reading this newspaper, you probably already know that I constantly seek ways to improve life in the ePhilippines. Though I live in Palawan out of necessity (Hospital), I was born in Mindanao and plan to always run there.
Platform
I think there should be a great deal more support for new players. We are already a small country and we constantly lose new players before they even reach level 5, where they can finally go beyond "two-clicking" and start to properly manage their health. These are my goals to that end, both long-term and short:
Create more Q1 Jobs
Because businesses are less profitable at lower Q, many of the state-owned companies are Q2 or Q3 and have optimum employment levels. To remedy this, I have created an organization to facilitate these jobs and intend to invest any achievement-related gold (i.e. congressional election) to getting it running and providing jobs.
Active Mentoring
We need to proactively welcome new players; I commend our current PSA efforts, but my concern is that eRepublik is hard to navigate and they may not see the newspaper section - the admin even made the "HOME" icon smaller! I hope to help build an API that will allow us to search for news players and message them as they arrive so we can let them know there is more to this game then just work and train. In the meantime, I hope to use PESO Jobs to mentor new players as they start work.
Background
I personally find that the part in a game where I have the most fun, is helping other players. As such, I always try to leave things better then how I found it, thus the mission of my newspaper and my plans for PESO Jobs (above).
As a relatively new player, I don't have any fancy awards to speak of, though I am currently the Deputy Director of Home Affairs. I do have formal training in both journalism and business, though really I'm just here to have fun!
