Quick advice when you lack a Country

Day 1,971, 10:53 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Oi oi!

Oy vey, we have been wiped again. That BLOWS, I think we can all agree. However, it seems to me that certain people's have taken this opportunity for political gain, so, speaking as someone who has been around a while, won some wars, and witnessed wipes in the past, I felt the need to offer some quick advice:

Firstly, consider the circumstances. Why are we wiped? This week, we have not been wiped because our military is crap, because our leadership failed us or because we have a naff President. Let it be clear that whomever was CP this month would have met the exact same fate. This month, the eUK, YOUR COUNTRY, has rolled a tough dice. And that is simply that. It isn't to do with individuals or parties, it is something which affects us all. A babybooming country decided to Airstrike us for RL stuff. The march of the Argentine was inevitable, and it is unsurprising that Ireland took advantage of that and it is ridiculous to try and blame this on anything but the crazy admin who decided airstriking a) made sense or b) was a good idea. As Congress' representative in Cabinet I believe that the Government put in a good effort to repel the Argies, back against the wall and all guns blaring. They put up a fight, we all did. Which was far better than rolling over and taking it.

Secondly, this is not the time for divisive politics. When you have no country ingame, it only further emphasises the community aspect of eRepublik. The eUK is alive and well, as it always is. Because the eUK is a community, not a colour on a map. As long as that community exists, so to does the eUK, and not having a country ingame SHOULD provide us with a common incentive. A wipe is not a reason to score party political points, and it is so abhorrent that some people think, that instead of this being a time to COME TOGETHER and COOPERATE, it is instead a time to start quarrels and fights, and to tear apart that very community which is literally all we have left. So as Speaker, as King, as Citizen, I bally-well demand that you all start playing nice and work together to fix this mess. If you want to be petty and point score then do it when we have a nation back.

Finally, there is an issue of accountability and it will be discussed in Congress, in a calm and sensible manner. I can assure you of that. In fact, whether or not it is my place to say I care not, but there are various wheels in motion to begin sorting out this mess, so worry not. A wipe is only ever temporary. Our allies will soon help us, and although it sucks that we have been wiped, and it sucks that we may be being asked to fight for others, fighting ourselves does not make our allies come any faster. Contributing does. So, worry not. Work together, and if you want to scrutinise or quarrel or point fingers, do so through the correct channels, and more importantly don't kick up a fuss when a lot of people are putting in a lot of effort to deal with this mess. There is, in other words, a correct time and place for everything. What is needed is for us to work together, to show everyone that no, we aren't gone we are still here and in no time at all, we will have a country back. Don't try and point score, don't call for an impeachment or claim that people are incompetent, because what we need is community, not contempt.
