Problem of Free Riding Private MU's

Day 1,687, 10:08 Published in Netherlands Belgium by Konrad Neumann

There are a few in congress lately are pushing for the state to provide supplies to other private MU's but overall, they are misguided. They argues that the government discriminate and is not fair. What they fail to see that what they are pushing for is a free ride for private MU's and is unfair to the state and its tax payers.

Under the current system, the state offer supplies to all members of the state MU and other military members. All can join the NL military and there is no discrimination of the state. If the state blocks certain members to join the state military which in essence block access to state aid then they do have a point. However that is not the case. All who wants to receive government aid in terms of getting tanks and food, they need to join the NL military and is open to all.

What I think advocates of the free ride policy lacks, is an understanding of what the purpose of communes and MU's are for. What communes and MU's are for is to provide supplies and encourage daily order fights which will reward players with experience, bazooka parts and energy bars. Members often times work in communes in which they will get supplies for DO's. So private MU's fund themselves privately and its members receive supplies, why should the state give them supplies? They surely do not need it and why should members of private MU's get double supplies? Also dealing with supplying private MU's will this create lazy MU owners? If the state supplies private MU's will private MU's stop providing their own supplies and rely mainly on government handouts? Will they pocket the profits made from the communes? This makes absolutely no sense.

Overall, we should encourage the expansion and development of the NL military. What the NL military is a state owned and run institution that its sole function is the security of eNL. Independent MU's do not have this operational restraints and does what it wants. In a small country like eNL in which every warrior counts, it is better to have a more centralized military force that fight as one instead of a fragmented puzzles with small and unsustainable MU's that does not fund itself let alone defend our borders.

What advocates for the free ride policy seems to not understand is what they are pushing for, is not fair. Why should members of the state military pay for the development and operations of private MU's? Why should private MU members get extra supplies especially when they do not need it? Why are they entitled to this extra supplies? Advocates of free riding seems to support and wants the nation to be mainly MU's in essence taxing all citizens for their personal profit and gains? The people who have supplies and resources need not more supplies and resources.

As I said before, the eNL military is open to all who wants in. The government offers a DO program. To have DO's one must be in a militia. Since this is state funded, it only make sense that the gov would focus only on state MU's. Private MU's can feel free to offer a better package then the state, but it does not mean that people should abuse the system and get double supplies. It is based on need. Citizens can opt for public (state) option of being in a Government MU and receive the government package or go the private route and get private supplies. They have a choice and they are free to choose the one that best fit them best. However, they cannot have both for it is not fair or just to members who are in the state MU.

What I think we should do is to have the government DO program exclusive to the NL military. For the new players that are not in a member of ANY MU's state or private, they will get a onetime one week of survival supplies (not enough for daily DO's but enough got work and basic fights) so that each day they have the resources for 200 health. They will have a PM when they sign up for basic new player assistance about the state DO program as well as the private MU's that sign up to be on the basic assistance PM where they can see all programs that are on the table and they will select the plan that is best for them. I believe this is the most fair and is a compromise.
