power of selforganisation

fellow citizens,
i just want to clear a few things up from my point of view as a member of bcp. some people most probably misunderstood our aims. or believed not-so-true rumors spread weirdly.
our very primary goal is to install direct decision making process and bring it back to the very people, where it belongs. with REFERENDA in operation, for possible greedy individulas will be harder to abuse and leech from the tax-system, as they would need bribe half of the populace, insted only 1 person in office or half of the congress. these publick assemblies won't leave a single one citizen out of the process and everyone will have their voice in running the society. not only once in a month, but at every important event.
some people rant constantly against DIRECT PARTICIPATION of every single citizen. that's simply because they're genuinely afraid, the referenda might work, and the elected oligarchy might eventually lose their so carefully protected PRIVILEGES disguised as a service to the nation.
now, some people still can't or don't want to c the 2 major proofs that the power was abused recently in flanders, wallonia and bruxelles. the government have plotted together with nl gvt. they waged a sensless war, which in the end lowered local production bonuses for several days making the workers the real losing side in this conflict. and the warmongers kept the cash flowing into their pockets (not mentioning the congress was crippled to a mere 10 delegates). they prolonged fightings as much as possible. many believed them and didn't take part in the first wave of resistance wars, wasting fellow citizens' money. some even sided with dutch government forces and helped occupy belgian regions.
the second harmful act being the programm for the citizens above lvl 25 only. i can hardly believe a bcp comgresperson voted for such crystal clear reactionary expansion of class division in our society. this greatly didn't contribute towards EQUALITY, one of the basic principles we support. GENERAL PLEBISCITES will prevent simillar failures from happening in the furture. it requires a bit of activity from the people. be a leader for yourself. do not pass your right to selforganise our lives to some representative smartarse who sooner or later will seek her/his own benefits. because ALL POWER CORRUPTS. where you have a concentration of power in a few hands, persons with the mentality of gangsters gain control. history has proven that.
i hope this have given u a slightly better insight on what bcp is up to. if interested, u r very welcome to visit our new libertarian communist collective phorum. or better join our efort and take part in some mediocre DIRECT DEMOCRACY really happening in the neighbourhood.
till next time,
lin0leum, hardworker of flanders

I hear more and more calls for Referenda but I see no solution to implement these. How and where are you going to make people vote on propositions ?
the only transparent enough solution to do a plebiscite other than on external phorum, is in newspaper articles and comments. the vote cast itself might be simillar to the votings on ebe phorum. i'm not really excited about that, but we need to cope with the game hostility against progressive forms of organisation.
In that case, voting in the comments of a newspaper article (indeed the most transparent form of in game voting), how are you going to attract all eBelgian citizens to this article as indeed the game is hostile towards organisation, articles are nearly invisible in the end. The average decent article in eBelgium gets about 20 votes, a popular one can go up to 60 so let's say you might have 80-120 readers as not all vote, it will still only be 20-40% of the population and be a representative vote rather then a direct decision.
Support From France !
notify citizens, used to have always someone to decide for them, of the votings is the tricky part 😐 i don think pm every single citizen is efficient enough. but it's worth the try. the link to the voting article in the law discussion area of the congress proposals is helpfull too. other than that, the shouts and supportive articles should do the job. as soon as the number of voters overcome the number of possible congresspersons and reaches 31, its a success.
If a forum vote is elitist, what about a "newspaper vote" with comments ? You want to give power to the newspapers readers ! What about the others citizens ? They don't desserve to be heard ? Referendum for everybody ! Each belgian citizens has rights, not only newspapers readers !
I like the idea of debating and taking decisions through the real game site (with its strenghts and weaknesses). It's less easy in practice though.
taxation:: the economick struggle has changed, its not as effective as it used to be back when organisations existed and u had to find a job at some employer in order to survive. e-capitalists shifted their fockus towards state aparatus and use this to squeeze the citizens. profiteers do have more options there. anyway avoiding taxes is a good thing, as taxation is basically a robbery and i hope direct democracy will put a stop to taxation. or possibly it might not stop it, its up to people to decide. they need to let their voice count. we need to let all our voices count.
newspaper vote >> external phorum vote >> representative congress vote.
listed from the fairiest to the most abuseable. how do u make people come to the external phorum other way than posting articles with links?? there is double obstacle to do a phorum vote. the newspaper do have only one.
newspaper: 1 article to debate, 2nd to cast the vote
phorum: 1 thread to debate, another one to perform the vote.
i dont agrue if phorum or newspaper do have better/worse structure. but newspaper is more TRANSPARENT and ACCESSIBLE, and i've noticed some people refuse to go to the phorum.
the essence is important, not the form. people deciding directly instead of fake democratick rule of 30 elected aristocrats. whether the referendum is held on phorum or in the newspaper, its more of technical question (where i still suport the newspaper for its part-of-the-game nature)
And how do people participate to the debate before the vote ? To vote is not the goal, to involve people in the decision making process is what is important ! And what is the best structure for that ? A forum... And it's why ALL the countries of eRepublik are using this very important tool to administrate their community and to make it live...
About taxes, no ones is squeezed or robbed, the income tax in eBE is the minimum legal, 1%, and the VAT taxes are not so high compared to others countries with 15%... Without to add that 90% of the taxes incomes of eBE are not paid by the belgians citizens, but by the "bot" ! With a global market as we have today, nothing stop our citizens to buy their products where they are the cheapest... To not get benefit from the bot to avoid a 0.002 bef raise in some products and to not have the possibility to collect 100k bef/day to fund citizens programs will be a crime, and i don't think it's what you want... How do you think the BTA receive 450k bef/month to give around 600health recovery per day to it members ? (with only conditions to be in the BTA and to have made at least one kill per day)
yep i like the low taxes in ebe, this shows maybe not all of the representatives r completely corrupt. but it is still there, is inevitable and u r forced to get robbed. avoid violent taxes is basic liberterian approach. we do make another voluntary! contributions to the society.
the bot is different issue, it cripples the game mechanics, even if it tries to fix overproduction and another failures of the game changes. to squeze a bot might be good for us. but again, this is not the problem of direct democracy.
Moreover, you are not the only ones to ask for referendum including all players. Most of the players running for CP elections are willing to include non forum players in important decisions.
If i'm right, only one active people wanted to elect the President directly on the forum, for the same reason as you, direct democracy, without all the inactives citizens, the multies, etc... But he is not playing actively anymore (and the idea wasn't supported by a majority as 2 clickers are a part of the game)...
About taxes, you say low taxes show that all representatives are not "completely' corrupted ? What should they do to prove they are not corrupted ? To vote for the BCP maybe ? To criticize in the goal to criticize is not really helpfull, if you want some changes in our society, bring some constructive opinions, and propose reforms, but to scream every day because "everyone is bad and corrupted except the BCP" won't help a lot i'm afraid...
Good article, good job.

+1
I think we should do everything via PM. You should PM every single eBelgian and do debates there so everyone have "equality." Have fun sending 600+ PMs...
