Possibly the Greatest e-Irish of all time

Today, we have all logged in to the very sad news that our friend mirek has passed away in real life. It is news like this that puts the game we all play into perspective, reminds us there is a human behind the avatar and that what we see here is only a small part of that person's life.

My own experiences with mirek in this game are many and varied. He was a trusted friend, a colleague, an opponent, a rival, then back to trusted friend again. This is testament to how mirek played this game. An independent minded person who followed his own path regardless of who it made happy or not.

Today in our Community we are lucky to have many RL Croats who have decided to come and play this game for Ireland. But mirek was the first one to come here. Again this speaks to his independent nature. He came here himself and blazed his own trail that countless others would follow in the years to come. He immediately set to work alongside me in the MoFA department, to which his likable personality was well suited. Along the way mirek has been a member of almost every party Ireland ever had and Party President in most of them. A member of The Crimson Order, ICA, Cromega, Irish Army and plenty of others besides. He was always available to take on any role be it MoFA, MoC or President and surely must hold the record for number of Presidential campaigns. Mirek experienced the game to the maximum. Friendly, likable, independent, his character is one that sticks out and will be remembered fondly by us all.

Mirek's passing has certainly put the current Resource Wars into perspective for all of us. I know it has for me personally. We are however limited in what we can do in a browser game to pay our respects to a fellow player, so tonight if you want to, I invite you all to join #irisharmy at 13:00 eRep Time where we will do whatever little we can to mark this young mans passing.
