PointBank Press Release: Savings Account Program Terminated

RICHMOND, VA - PointBank Director Tosh O'Point announced today that the bank's Savings Account program will end today after nearly seven months. The program was the bank's first operation, starting in November of 2011, and was the longest running current banking option in the eUSA. O'Point cited weak currency markets and raw materials prices for the closure, as well as a decreasing interest in the game of eRepublik.

Customers will be notified of the change tonight by PM and given 30 days to withdraw their money, which will no longer collect interest. Bank officials confirmed that regular weekly interest payments had been kept current through the last payment on May 30th.

"The eRepublik economic sector is just a total joke," Mr. O'Point said in a briefing shortly before the change was announced. "The game is not strategic anymore, it is not transparent, and frankly it is just no longer fun."

Mr. OPoint was better known as user WahooBob when he played from February 2008 - June 2010, a member of the US Airborne and host of popular radio program The Report On Air. He will continue to play "another game" as Tosh OPoint and a proud TOPGUN pilot.
