The Candidate
I have a good deal of experience both leading parties, serving in legislatures, and running for Country President. As many AAP members are well aware, there is a great amount of inactivity in our party, and while we are still solidly the largest in the eUSA, if we want to build on that and cement the place that we have earned as the leading party in the country, it is imperative that we have new, strong leadership. Our current Party President, Aersidius, has done his best, but due to the enormity of the task at hand, has personally asked me and endorsed me to serve as your next Party President. Although I had no great desire for power, I understand that there are many people who are counting on someone to lead them to a greater future, and I hope that my year of experience in eRepublik will be a benefit to you all. I have experience building parties from the ground up, as well as saving them from a state of decline. I am a candidate who will present a vision that looks forward, not backwards, and I will identify the problems that are plaguing the AAP and how we can most effectively resolve them. Unlike many, I will not simply become yet another member of the political elites, but I will continue my record of being a political maverick and doing what is right in all circumstances.
Increased Activity
There is a great lack of activity within the party and while not all members have the time to be as active as others, it's important that the leadership stay in touch regularly to know the concerns and desires of the members which they serve. If elected, I will open up leadership posts to all members of our party and will choose those with the most commitment and with the greatest capability to carry out these tasks. I propose a simple and effective system. There will be a Vice President to directly assist me in my role as Party President administrating the party, as well as Congressional Directors who will share in the responsibility to help us win the maximum seats possible with the best lineup of candidates we can assemble. Additionally, I believe having lliasons directly to the party is essential. When the Party President cannot personally send out messages to all, it is crucial that no one feels ignored or taken for granted. Further, I will hold a monthly convention on IRC for members to discuss issues important to them where all will have an equal say.
Elections
In addition to selecting candidates for Congress based on their willingness to run an active campaign and the strength of their platforms, we will hold a free and fair primary to select our Country Presidential candidate. Under my leadership, every single member will have the opportunity to participate. It is ultimately my goal to both increase our representation in Congress as well as see an AAP nominee become elected in the near future.

if you are an outsider, how do you know exactly what the party needs? You've been a member for a whopping 2 days now. I'm a mentor, and I tell all new citizens that they should spend a month getting to know their party before they run for any political office.
Yes, you've been in politics in Australia, but they have a parliamentary system of government, which is different than ours. Plus it just looks bad to immediately get citizenship and run for PP of the largest party in the country. One might think you are running with ulterior motives.
