This was a great victory for PHOENIX. This is Polands most valuable region, with high wood and an original wall of over 1,000,000. However, Slovenia and MPPs were able to take this from Poland - in what is being called one of the greatest battles of all time. Both EDEN and PHOENIX did over 10,000,000 damage - EDEN had the advantage of an original 1,000,000+ wall, but PHOENIX managed to take it down.
Soldiers from every country in the world turned up, epitomising the rest of the first day of World War 5 - that this is the biggest war the eWorld has ever seen. There is no such thing as a neutral in this war.
Canary Islands
This is an original region of Spain, given to their closest allies Poland. Poland spent over 4000GOLD to declare war on Mexico, who have High Oil (something which Poland do not have). It would also be a gateway into South America - which has 12 High Raw Materials in tiny countries - together, these small countries have a combined population of 7209 - a tiny country like Bulgaria could challenge that.
However, there was a huge fiasco for EDEN - over 5000GOLD spent, and those sneaky Brazilians attacked the Canary Islands - and took it. Poland had wasted a huge amount of GOLD.
Yet another blow for EDEN - Poland loses a huge amount of GOLD, and Spain loses an original region. PHOENIX wins again.
Russia vs Poland
Russia did what many thought was unthinkable - attack original regions of Poland. They successfully took Pomerania. This allowed them to march through Poland and on into Germany, taking Berlin from the Polish - Polands other High Resource region.
Another huge win for PHOENIX - and another huge detriment to Poland.
Romania vs Hungary
Now, we finally have a tiny upside for EDEN.
Romania, whilst Hungary was distracted by other battles, managed to take Northern Great Plain.
Romania today move on to Northern Hungary.
However, this could provide later complications - Romania have awoken a sleeping giant, and activated 13 of her MPPs. Romania are on the winning foot for now, but when the other fronts of the war begin to close, Hungary and its 13 powerful MPPs will start to ask questions of Romania.
So who won the first day of the new World War?
PHOENIX - without a doubt. PHOENIX ripped apart Poland yesterday, taking all of Polands high-resource regions
PHOENIX also wasted 5000G of EDENs, and stopped EDEN advancing into resource-rich South America, and into the USA.
EDEN took a blow on almost every battlefield.
However, the small win for EDEN on the Romanian/Hungarian war was nothing compared to the PHOENIX wins - Hungarian regions cannot be held, and Romania cannot win.
So the winners of the first day are PHOENIX - and now the second day has begun!

A Vegan is correct. The own of this paper ran an add offer 1.25 Gold to every person that subscribed, and has yet to pay even a single person. He has also deleted the article with everyone's comments regarding that ad. He has also refused to even answer any PMs regarding the gold offer.
This newspaper is a complete scam, and the owner has lost a lot of respect (and subscribers) due to this...
