Today after a long period of negotiation with the French government we have a peace proposal presented before our Congress. This peace proposal closes the open war with France that we have had since French Toast. After a period of having many open wars with surrounding countries we are solely closing wars that present a threat to our national security. Emerick closed the war to Portugal and that made the USA safer and today I am closing this war and doing the same. It has been the desire of many presidents to close this war and I am quite pleased that this task is finally accomplished. No longer will the United States have a multitude of open wars allowing us to be gang attacked like we were during the North American war. Only through the collective efforts of our State Department, our Canadian friends in the Brolliance and with help from the Italian government was this peace proposal possible. Through a lot of time and hard work, I believe the United States and Canada has made a significant step in positive relations not just with France, but around the world.
The decision to make peace is always a hard one, particularly with somebody you have fought with for a long time. This decision might not be popular to some within this country and within our allies, but it is necessary and good. We can no longer operate under the assumption that the United States is indestructible even with the recent disintegration of the PEACE alliance. No nation no matter how strong can fight off a host of enemies attacking at all times. From a tactical sense, closing the war with France makes the United States safer. While I do not expect France to leave PEACE I do anticipate that we will have friendlier relations in the future and that will lead to new possibilities and eventual friendship. It also allows us to focus on the true adversaries the Unites States faces. We will never forget those who attempted to occupy our continent and the havoc that they have created with our allies and around the world. We are still committed to opposing these countries no matter where they go and what they do.

A Call for War

I have been getting PM's from citizens and have recently read articles asking for war to increase our citizen ranks, spur our economy, and to maintain our population growth and activity. I fully agree with everything that is being said. War is fun, it cannot be denied and there are many benefits to it. That said, there is much more to war than simply pushing a button. We have more than a few avenues that we could pursue as a nation, but unfortunately for us they all lead to opening up MPP's that are incredibly strong or could lead to another collective attack against the USA. I have no desire to get us into the predicament that we currently escaped from. That said, rest assured our military is constantly planning for many different contingencies and we can always rely on our enemies to unjustly attack somebody giving us more than a reason to fight. Be patient.

Maegalodnus, do you speak for all of eSpain and EDEN? Were you picked as their diplomatic representative? Because you do one crappy job if that's the case.
The eUS was invaded and nearly destroyed because of the fact that it had several wars open against it. And while we do indeed currently have 10 MPPs against eFrance, it costs more now to maintain those MPPs and keep them open. eFrance has nothing of value for us to conquer, and from my understanding, our government has no intent for revenge against eFrance. Why should the eUS continually drain her finances to maintain an advantage in a war she will most likely never use?
I understand eSpain's desire for revenge against eFrance, the eUS has her own desires for revenge. However, that should be a personal battle, not one you drag all of your allies into. If there were strategic reason for doing so, I would think differently. But for the sole reason of getting back at eFrance, I say fight your own battle. I wouldn't expect the eUS to demand help from her allies for seeking revenge on the eUK or eMexico or eColumbia. The latter of those 2 have done the eUS wrong, not EDEN. The eUK has done everyone wrong at this point by simply existing, but invading their waste of a nation isn't even worth the effort.
If the eUS is going to be attacked and criticized by her allies for trying to make amends and peace with other nations, I feel sorrow for the state of the eWorld. Because in the end, we can't win in anyone's eyes. If the eUS doesn't make peace and be friendly, we're horrible imperialists that must be punished. If we do make peace, we're suddenly betraying our allies. It's not fair of our allies to put us in this situation. They have our unwaivering support in the defense of their eNations, but asking us to help them seek revenge or expand their borders is a great deal more, and only lowers us on the same level as PEACE.

Although you mentioned the Brolliance, you didn't say exactly how much involvement Canada had with this peace with France. Does Canada approve? Are they also signing a peace treaty of their own with France? Obviously, I don't want to piss off our bros, if they hold any grudges and don't want to see this happen.

I for one agree with this course of action. We Americans are starting to act like our old selves (pre-WW3). Now is not the time for arrogance or revenge. We signed peace with Portugal and now France. I say we're doing good. In having these wars open we are merely carrying the burden of foolish decisions made more than 6 months ago. This is a new era and we all have new administrations. Enough dragging these dead war weights around. I look forward to seeing better relations between France and Portugal as well. Times change, catch up with them.

This is fine for mid-level and upper-level players. But the newbies between level 5 and 10 need battles to survive. Every day we do not have a battle, dozens of low level players DIE. A training war is the best retention mechanism we have.

Actually, I couldn't give a rat's ass for what our enemies think of us. I do, however, care if they use it as a pretense to invade us again. If we're portrayed as the horrible imperialists, it's a lot easier to garner support for another invasion. By making peace, we show a lot of people that we actually are making an effort not to have be at war with half the world.
Not to mention it helps immensely from a strategic point of view not to have an open war with every county on every single boarder of our nation.

So I took a quick peek at the map, where I noticed that France controls exactly 0% of Spanish territory.
There hasn't been any fighting between Spain and France for over 2 months, and unless there is some kind of offensive being planned by Spain it seems that the war is simply for symbolic purposes.
So while I do agree that Frost should have consulted with Spain before ending the war with France, I think that overall a conclusion of hostilities was the best decision of America.
