Party Presidency
Weirdstuffs
Dear Fellow ReLLers/Libertarians,
I decided to run for party president this month and I'd like to share some of my ideas and plans I have for ReL, hoping I can count on your vote!
In the past months I've seen Libertas merge and become a bigger party, now known as Revolution and Libertas. Especially our buddies from the Bilderberg group injected our party with experience and activity. The reason I feel like stepping up right now, is because I'm afraid some of our core principles are getting lost along the way. I hope by being your party president I can reinstate some of those principles.
We are a party that stand for a couple of F's. GDLR used to name 9 of them, but i'll stick to a summary of that. Below are also the principles that I want to bring back or further improve:
1) a Free Netherlands. The current occupation by Hungary is unacceptable. In congress, we as a party already stated clearly that the current deal is just not good enough for us. However (and that also needs to be said), I'm personally very pleased with the current deal our government made with Hungery, regarding the Resource Wars. This really softens some of the pain and offers perspective. I do think that after resource wars have ended we should seek to liberate more regions. Realism is key, and political influence is one of the most powerful tools for our little country, but should there be an opportunity for a war in which we can show ourselves, I will be hugely in favor, because it is fun, increases activity, and is a nice way to get what we want.
2) Fun. eRep is a game, it should be fun. Seems stupid to emphasize, but reading some of the analyses in media and forums it seems like really our own lives are at stake here. Cartoons like those of Skyjacked, articles by GDLR and other small games through media I really enjoy. Wars are fun. Chilling and chatting with party members and other players is fun. I'd like to stimulate this through actively contacting our members.
3) Coaching. ReL used to be a party coaching the new players and teaching them through articles and personal chats how eRep works. I'd like to see more of us become actively involved in coaching again and helping players with their first steps into this game.
4) Governing. This has not been mentioned before, but I think now is the time to say it. As the nr.1 party of eNL, I feel like we should take our responsibility and become actively involved in governments. If we really want to change eNL for the better, being part of government, or even providing the CP, is the way to do it. Quite some of our members already have some form of experience and they can help and guide aspiring members to get governmental positions and/or get the higher positions themselves.
Of course, there are many more things to be said, but for now I think these are my main things I want to change and improve as PP. I really hope for your vote!

You have my support my friend go for it!
very nice! keep it up!
Got my support m8, knock it out of the ballpark 🙂
Voted!
Still a bit early, we just had party president elections 11 days ago and there are 19 days until the next party president elections.
When you are the largest party in the country, the position of party president is more important and competitive.
lol
Maybe it's early indeed howerver i believe we should be very happy about the fact that he is running and taking time to write this article. I sense political activity and a person trying to create engagement within the freshly merged party. As eNL we should be happy about the initiative Wierdstuffs is taking. Ofcourse you only made an observation yet it has a negative feel to it as if announcing to run for PP is a bad thing this early on
I can understand that you feel that it is a bit early. And I dont want, in any way, undermine Walhallah's term. My article is intended as an early announcement, to increase activity and discussion. Because I feel that the latter is lacking at the moment when it comes to the future or bigger picture of eNL.
no worries m8, you got my full support for the coming term.
Nice to see PP's writing election articles, good step up towards activity.
Freedom is however already ensured, and I in general disagree with ReL's stance towards war. Training wars are an insult to allies, real wars can't be sustained on NL fighters and would require allies.
This is also what I hoped to achieve: a step up towards activity. About your stance on wars, I guess, that is one of the reasons why we're in different parties.
At the risk of sounding elitist, hostile, or something else negative, I do mean this in a neutral way: I think parties matter very little, it comes down to understanding the inner workings of the game. But it takes time in the cabinet to get to this point, and I hope a lot of ReL people will get there.
We will see. Also in real life politicians switch ideologies, so it could be possible. This however will be my first steps to get more experienced.
Point 1:
I indeed also think that we can use these Resource Wars to get rid of our occupation.
Countries like Hungary and Poland have to go through a lot of trouble to keep a direct connection to our regions. So if we're not really valuable to them, there's no need to go through this trouble.
But we should be careful not to get new rare resources. I.e. if everyone suddenly has Oil now but lacks another resource we have, we're still in the same mess.
In any case, if we play this right point 1 won't be an issue.
Point 2: fun is indeed important. And yes, we'll need to participate in wars regularly. That shouldn't mean eNL directly engaging neighbouring countries. That again could get us occupied. But we need to be part of an alliance with trusted allies. An alliance will always have wars somewhere.
Point 3: Great! We cannot have enough coaches, so in my opinion all parties should be somewhat engaged in this. And of course RL recruitment is something that needs to be improved upon.
Point 4: Being part of governments is a tough responsibility. So I guess that should be up to individual members. It definitely is quite time-consuming. For a party it is a nice goal to have such members, but it really depends on the kind of party you want to be. It for instance takes away time from coaching, and new players cannot immediately be a prominent part of the government.
In any case, as PP I wouldn't want to force the issue. I leave it completely up to my party members.
Good luck m8
