Creation of the alliance

Let’s start with the beginning, if PanAm has been created, it’s because of the fall of PHOENIX, where eFrance was for several months. PHOENIX, which kept a slightly dominant position on the eWorld geo-strategic balance for many weeks, is now deprived of his most important regions; after Hello Kitty (Heilongjiang), the Serbian stronghold Liaoning is attacked and taken back by China, Serbia is weakened.

After that, the alliance started to lose more battles than usual, and the usual battles became more difficult to defend against EDEN which is more united than PHOENIX (although she is weaker than PHX on a purely military perspective). On the other hand, the emergence of the new resources created internal tensions in PHX; the Hungarians, Who controlled for a long time South Africa, faced the will of Brazil to take its regions. On December 6th, Brazil made the decision to leave the alliance to be able to take the African regions without agreement with the HQ of the alliance.

At this moment, St Krems, American foreign secretary at that time, began to create PanAm, literally the Pan American Alliance, which has already existed on eRepublik. Originally, the Pan American Alliance is an idea of a Mexican former president, Dhoo ( 2008 ), who wanted to make collaborate between them all the countries of the American continent. After several weeks of existence, the alliance imploded and gave birth to two different alliances which we know well today; PEACEgc (ancestor of PHOENI😵 and ATLANTIS (ancestor of EDEN). The article of Krems is giving the finger in the direction of Europe.

He regrets the fact that most of the conflicts takes place on the European continent, and that the American nations make all their possible to help their alliances, but when these nations need help from the Europeans, they don’t help them a lot. He makes here an implicit reference to the tensions between Hungary and Brazil about South Africa, but also about the departure of the USA of EDEN a few months before. St Krems is a very skillful diplomat and his article scores; his objective is to weaken PHOENIX a lot to get back in the lap of allies of the USA, Brazil and Argentina.

His operation is a success, two days later, Turkey, Serbia and Hungary quit PHOENIX, signing its death warrant. The alliance will still try to live a few days but any sign of hope was extinguished when Ian Keers, SG of PHOENIX says in an interview that the alliance was dead when Hungary and Serbia left it.

The most funny article to read is the Hungarian’s. Hungary criticizes the alliance as well as its defeats, and thinks that the alliance isn’t capable any more to reach its current objectives. In reality, Hungary has a good laugh to spend his golds for second-class countries and prefer to get rid of it. She will make an intense lobbying to create the New World Order some weeks later. The alliance was consisted of Serbia, Poland, Spain and of course Hungary (no country outside the top 10).

The major principles of PanAm were proposed at the Japanese, Brazilian, American and Canadian congresses. Only Canada refused it (to finally join the alliance later in the month). So was created PanAm.

Lets make a pause with the interview of CRoy, TERRA advisor and former POTUS election runner up.



- Can you introduce yourself for the french people who dont know you ?

. Hi, my name is CRoy and I enjoy doing naughty things 😉

I'm the current Secretary of the Interior (similar to a Minister of Home Affairs), a former CP election runner up (December '10), a media mogul, a two time Secretary of the Media, a congressmember, and many more things. I help out where ever I can, usually in the Executive branch.

- Whats your general feeling about the creation of PANAM ?

. I love it. PANAM was created at a time when the eUS and the world was getting bored of the game and of the old alliances. We wanted to take a risk, in order to make the game interesting again. It looks like the gamble paid off.

- What are your impressions about the Krems term (as SG of the alliance) ?

. Krems did many good things and a few bad things. The best thing he did was put his heart and soul into laying the ground work for PANAM. He courted diverse countries and developed relations with people that used to hate us. He had a very likable personality that helped in the formation stages of PANAM.

That said, he also made a few blunders. Inviting Turkey to possibly join PANAM was a big mistake. He also did not focus much on setting up alliance infrastructure. Lastly, he quit overnight and left PANAM's future in limbo for a few days. At one point it felt like PANAM was going to completely fall apart.


- Whats your opinion about the jamesw/Artela term at the head of Terra and the changes of the alliance ?

. I am a little biased because I assist jamesw with PANAM duties from time to time. I think this team is doing a great job of putting in place the type of infrastructure that allows an alliance to flourish. They are working closely with military and militia leaders around the world, they are bringing in new countries (Germany), and they are providing stability and growth after a period of mass uncertainty. I'm quite pleased.

As for the logo and name, I was worried at first, but I'm growing to like it a lot. It's a nice name. Terra. It makes me of a calm forest. A firm foundation made up of many parts, all growing together.

- What do you think about the evolution of the alliance ?

. I've spoken a little about this already, but I guess all I have to say is that I've very happy with where things stand now, and I'm looking forward to watching the future of Terra unfold.

The entry of France

I preferred to set apart the case of France for two reasons; first, because it is part of our history and is to be separated from the history of TERRA, secondly because in my opinion, a number of errors were committed in the last months on the diplomatic plan and I wish to bring my vision of things.

We are in December 2010, Koratos is the French president and, at this moment, PHOENIX is dying. Myyst, French former president became the American ambassador in France and worked in close collaboration with Josh Frost ( American president) and especially with St Krems, the mofa. The USA know the situation of France after the fall of PHOENIX; France’s relations more than tense with Hungary are going to make very difficult the membership for a new alliance (in the time NWO is already in mind). The USA are thus going to try to reunite us in their cause, to make us pass in the other side, thanks to this article written by Krems and translated into French by Myyst. It is necessary to know that the relation USA/France has always been special, we have never fought explicitly against them (Lyne had refused to attack them to block them at the time of PEACEgc) and they were always very moderate as for their implication in the different wars we knew (especially Poland/Spain), a NAP has even been signed a few months ago with them.

Here we are, one day later, Krems publishes its famous anti-European article which puts the bases of the construction of PanAm. After a promise of proposition of alliance formulated in the article published in France, many French are asking questions. Very fortunately, at the request of Myyst, Krems will personally come to explain over the French forum. And yes, it is the American mofa which is obliged to explain over the subject, and not the French government which communicates for his people. In the time, Koratos maintained strong links with the UK and Serbia mainly and was not necessarily favorable to our entry to PanAm which explains the badly made work and the few informations we got (we can find here an explanation in the agreement with Poland which provoked an outcry).


The month passes, PanAm begins to create itself and Krems becomes SG of the alliance. On the other side, NWO becomes an unofficial alliance consisted of Spain, Poland, Hungary and Serbia. In January, Nicolas Bonaparte (courant alternatif) is elected to the presidency of the French eRepublic. I will not speak about the beginning and the middle of the month, which were really boring and which don’t interest us at all here. The interesting things begin at the end of January, in particular when the domestic policy interfere in the foreign policy. It is necessary to know that the diplomatic wing of the government (Tifididl, Asiah, Kadet and earlier in the month eLisou) is profoundly anti-NWO and think that PanAm is the best option for our country. Having heard about the possible candidacy of Kallmar in the presidential elections of February, they are afraid that Kallmar applies a foreign policy in favor of NWO. These fears appears to be true: a few days before the election, Kallmar publishes his government and lets appear Koratos to the Foreign Affairs. The government publishes an official article calling to vote for the diplomatic future of the eFrance, either totally directed, or written by somebody who knew absolutely nothing about the various exposed propositions. The article is from my point of view bungled and drafted by a partial, convinced government for a long time.

After the result of the vote, we are on February the 3rd. it becomes extremely urgent for the government of Nicolas Bonaparte to go into PanAm, otherwise, in two days, everything could be thrown away. Things are so pressed that the first one votes at the Congress is cancelled because it was launched by a deputy and not by the president of the Congress. The vote has been launched on February the 5th and will thus end under the mandate of Kallmar. For the anecdote, you should know that Nicolas Bonaparte signed the charter of PanAm on February 5th near 4 am in the morning (that is 5 hours before the beginning of the presidential election) to prevent the president elected to refuse to sign it. The next day, Kallmar beats Dhelk in the presidential elections.

A few days later, NWO makes a proposition to France but it is too late, we belong to PanAm. I would have liked that the government of Nicolas Bonaparte also worked in the direction of NWO to be able to show to the population and to the Congress two official propositions emanating at once(at the same time) from NWO and from PanAm, instead of some lines belonging to an article of an inferior quality. I think very sincerely that the membership to PanAm was bungled and that she would have been able to be made in a more democratic and more composed way.



Development of the first organs

Since December 2010, the alliance grows and develops quietly. In January, Japan becomes the first country not American to join the alliance, then, later in the month, Canada accepts to leave EDEN for PanAm. We have just seen it, France becomes, at the beginning of February, the first European country to join PanAm, a few days later, Turkey will join the alliance too.

After the election of St Krems at the head of the alliance and the first victory of PanAm on NWO, the first "official" article of the alliance is published. At this moment, PanAm really goes up in power and the media decline of EDEN stands out as little by little the main alternative to NWO.
February 22nd, pleasant and surprising piece of news; Russia joins PanAm! As French, we welcome with open arms Russia, which was one of our most faithful friends during the last months (mainly during our invasion, where several Russian tankings were offered to us, things which cost logically 5000 golds). It also means, after thenentry of Turkey, the internationalization of the alliance. In spite of its declarations asserting the opposite, Krems was worried of protecting a kind of balance about timezone. An alliance focused on only one continent cannot be effective militarily, and the entry of Russia comes to counterbalance slightly the American dominion. PanAm can begin to envisage serenely a direct and intense conflict with NWO.

A few days later and after an enormous work of the French diplomats, the UK joins PanAm for our biggest happiness. We are henceforth with our friends, and we will see that the entry of the UK in the alliance is going to mean a lot, not only for France but also and especially for perpetuity of the alliance.

- Can you introduce yourself for the french people who dont know you ?

. Former US president(during the Great War of 2009), several time MoFA, 5x media mogul, betafag.

- Whats your general feeling about the creation of PANAM ?

. I love it. I've been all for a new alliance, especially one with our South American friends, for a long time. The fact that out irl allies like UK and and France are involved is also a huge plus for me. For the first time in a long time, I'm excited to fight for our allies.

- What are your impressions about the Krems term (as SG of the alliance) ? (Good and bad things) For you, why he resigned ?

. I wasn't very involved during Krems' tenure, so I can't comment much. The Turkey issue was a big letdown, though.

- Whats your opinion about the jamesw/Artela term at the head of Terra and the changes of the alliance ?

. I've been a lot more involved this term, so I can answer a lot better. I'm not a fan of the name or the logo. I would have preferred Foundation(as we know, all of the best alliances have been book references: PEACE, EDEN), and I love Azimov. Also, it's a strong connotation. Terra is more of a feminine term :/

There are some good mock-ups of the GDI bird, though, like we saw in jamesw's last article, so I'm getting over that.

In regards to WoF 2, the huge NEing of Poland and Spain: it's a bit fool-hearty, but I support it because of its intentions. Hopefully when we NE Spain and start beating up on them, the tides will turn.

- What do you think about the evolution of the alliance ?

. Goals should be:
1. The security of every member nation.
2. Assisting in the prosperity of every member nation.
3. Removal of resources of every enemy nation.
4. ????
5. PROFIT!

Also, fun. We should all enjoy each other's company, use this tool called eRepublik to gain insight on what people around the world is like, and Terra can definitely help us there. Terra is definitely an alliance built on mutual respect and love, in most respects. There are some issues with South America trusting us, but time will show them out commitment to them and Terra as a whole.

As for future members, I'd love to have China join. We've become very close to China over the last year, and they are definitely our best Eden ally.

Internal crisis and the first troubles

Some people will say that everything worked too well so that lasts! Brutally, at the end of February, St Krems announces on the American forum that he leaves his post of SG of the alliance and denounces the grave internal problems. According to him, the American president (Josh Frost, Haliman and Julian Mizu) see the alliance as totally at the boot of the USA, and the defense of countries belonging to it is secondary. They feel in no way involved in PanAm.

For those whom the subject interests, I recommend you to read Iain Keers's excellent article (SG of PHOENIX when the alliance fell to pieces) who calls back(reminds) some problems evoked by Krems.

This departure intervenes a few hours after Indonesia (neutral at the time of the facts) declared the USA as natural enemy and as certain Brazilians and Argentines showed their support for Indonesia in this invasion, which had as effect to provoke a wave of trolls and insults in the American press. In reality, this unfortunate episode was provoked by NWO. These last ones knew pertinently that because of the agreement BIA (Brazil Argentine Indonesia), these three countries would never fight against themselves. Brazil and Argentina, members of PanAm, did not remain in them more than to convince Indonesia to attack a country of PanAm to activate the ill-feeling inside the alliance (we shall remember great intelligent articles and in no way agitator of Ostin, who instigated the Indonesian population on this subject).



Hi Ostin

This extremely important internal crisis will have for consequence the dissolution of the staff of PanAm and a profound questioning of the alliance and its principles. The founders of the alliance decided that on March, after the presidential elections, would be the opportunity to start back everything from zero with new elections of SG. On March 10th of this year, jamesw ( SG) and Artela ( SC) are elected in the head of PanAm. Those two English are still in post today, I shall speak about it more widely in my next article: a new era under the British aegis for TERRA.
