Yes, that is the obvious request, Uncle Buck. If Aeriala put forward a plan and said that people should follow the plan, then he'd be asking for us to put our trust in following the plan, rather than the person.

Anyway, I used to think this game could be driven by policy rather than personality (one reason I used to support CPF). Yet, as things progress, it seems that ideas matter a lot less and things get driven forward according to who is leading them, rather than what was actually written down as a plan/policy.

I'd like to give kudos according to a great plan, yet as I've learned, you're better off following the person rather than the ideas he writes up in an article. As such, there's no need for Aeriala to explain himself anyhow.

Actually Plugson your powers are spot on as always. You been through a few of my term where I did exactly what I said I would do, if I make a promise I fulfill it. However this is a shade of grey, I can't promise anything, I can say I'll try. I always stick to what I say and I can't promise here beyond I will try. I know it would be preferable to say I will accomplish it but I can't lie like that.

The value of eRepublik rarely comes from the plan. It's always been the people. After all, it is a social game. People define and refine eRepublik more than the buttons.

Aeriala once approached me about letting bygones be bygones, and moving forward.

He said he was tired of the same old bullsh!t that had been surrounding him for the better part of a year and was ready to put in some real legwork to try and make this country better.

He asked for my support to help rejuvenate a party that had slipped in recent months due to a lack of interest from other players, including my own after having to singlehandedly keep it upright for 6 months.

I drank the koolaid. I let his vim and vigor persuade me to give him a shot. I stayed neutral in that election, and looked the other way as Ethel Rosenberg (/spit) and CFovetS (/spit) used CPP drones to eek out a win for Aeriala.

It was the worst decision I ever made.

His first real act as Party President was to bypass the Presidential Primary which we had discussed and he had promised to hold.

Once he was on the ballot, he was quickly endorsed by the CPP. This time he was selected via "primary" but only because through some crazy forum glitch votes seemed to disappear if cast for other candidates, and some members of the party had their forum privileges revoked due to some unknown bug.

Aeriala won that election on promises of a brighter future, and a plan that couldn't fail.

What he didn't tell us is that his plan included destroying international relations with his venomous brand of Foreign Affairs, he would ostracize and attack members of our community with his homophobic, misogynistic, and bigoted beliefs, and at the end of the day he would throw away months of other peoples hard work to win a battle that 18 months later only he looks back on fondly. Holding London for 24 hours will never be worth 3 bonus regions, and a foothold in Asia.

So you see, when it comes to Aeriala this is old hat.

Nice call on the facts but I was probably at that point the most active PP the MDP had in a long time. As for the primary let's put it straight, the MDP leader was in charge of appointing whoever he chose, that was your primary process. I changed it, I said everyone could vote on the list of declared candidates. Votes for lulz candidates or Rolo would not be counted. Nobody voted except a small few with Venoms, an undeclared (didn't you just have a blow the other month about him running as colnel sanders?) and Rolo. The process was followed exactly as it was declared, in fact if I hadn't changed it to a free vote it wouldn't even have mattered.

You lost the vote to Venoms, and endorsed yourself anyway.

It also wasn't the MDP anymore now was it. It was the MAP and they held a Primary election. You just didn't bother accepting the results.

The MAP name was voted on by the party, funny how that works right?

I was not privy to Aeriala's previous "antics", if you will, but given all the history that has been presented I would not cast a vote in his favor. A good plan is wonderful, not matter how obvious of a plan it is, but if there is no trust to be had for the person with the plan, what does it matter.

Further, I was unimpressed by the "entrance" you made back into eCanada. Again, as someone who didn't know you even existed a few days ago...your first article was offensive...we may have been wiped for sometime but we are proud none the less and working hard to see our way to liberation...ridicule will not make you any friends here.

Really though, with the company that you have on the CP campaign trail I would be surprised if you find any significant following.

As someone unfamiliar with Aeriala you better prepare yourself for a show.

After not getting on the ballot, or if he does somehow manage to get on the ballot following the election, you'll get to see the "You're all idiots and I didn't want to win anyway" Aeriala. This is the Aeriala that insults, attacks, degrades, and offends as many people as possible while pretending that he didn't care anyway then soon after publishing the article that rubs salt into his own wounds he'll disappear back into his hole until he re-emerges and tries again 6 to 9 months from now.

I'm not bent out of shape by any means...I am merely one voter, taking in everything and looking at the screenshots (that seem very real...) in order to formulate an opinion--which is what I need to do as my pp decides who we are backing for CP...I'm just telling it how it appears from my vantage point.

Unfortunately the internet is not the environment for individuals to partake in the activities of group-oriented agendas. In fact, if you reverse what I just stated, you would arrive at a more pertinent phrase:

The internet IS the environment for an individual to partake in the activities of selfish agendas.

The people we want as CP's are not online full-time. Real world qualities still apply here online. And the people who are successful in healthy group conduct don't have the time to fill the roles we need here online. So we're left with the individuals who have nothing better to do than be an eBadass, Goldigger, or Gender-Bender (and etc).

We get a good CP every once in a while... but they tend to run once, realize it is a lot of work and retire.

So we can't hold Rlyde, Rolo and Aeriala at fault, it's just the typical net-based community. Can't fight the internet... well you can try, but you'd probably just end up looking at porn.
