Open Letter To Congress Regarding Citizenship

Day 1,833, 01:29 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Blue And Evil

First of all, congratulations to all of this month’s congress members who won a seat, and commiserations to those who missed out.

As congress members, one of our duties is to approve citizenship applications from foreign players. Whilst it may seem like a good idea to let anyone who applies into the country for a variety of reasons (They’ll add to our tax income, fight for our country and maybe they’ll join your party... but surely none of us are that cynical and self-serving...) there are some people who it’d just be better to not have in the country. Commonly referred to as PTOers, these are people whose only intention in coming to the country is to gain positions of power in order to line their own pockets, usually through theft from treasury and military orgs.

A new initiative being started in this parliament is a citizenship committee to decide which citizenship applications we should be accepting. This new 6 person committee will be made up of congress members representing the wide spectrum of top 5 parties and elected by their peers. Their job will be to look at each applicant, research their background, decide to accept/deny their application by majority vote and advise the rest of congress as to who’s applications should be accepted as true benefits to the country.

This is a new approach to approving applications is both representative and democratic, without throwing the doors wide open to foreign PTO threats. It allows everyone to have their say and make an input, instead of the entire decision being taken by a single person - be they a proxy of the country president, or just a lone congress member who’s decided to take the matter into their own hands and just accept whoever they feel like, without respect to the consequences.

This is truly a better way for this process to be organised and encourage involvement from everyone, so I encourage all my fellow congress members to get involved. If people take the matter into their own hands, and away from this democratically selected committee, the system will fail, and damage the future safety of our country, so I ask all my fellow congress members - work with the committee. Talk to them. Most importantly, respect the democratic decisions they come to. If you disagree with them, talk with them and convince them, don’t take the decision into your own hands against the will of the people.

And if you want to be on this committee, talk to the Minister of Legislative Affairs, Minecrafting Instead, who will be organising the election of the committee. I encourage all congress members who want to really represent their country in this capacity to apply, as I will be doing.
