Open letter to the Admins
Dear Admins, from the start of V1(October 2008) we have seen an exponential boost on Player registration(In a particular way USA and UK have seen around 100 new players a day).
Other nations such as Italy,Spain and France hardly get to and average of 20 a day.
Us italians think that this has to do with the language of the game, infact we have translated the whole wiki of eRepublik http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Tutorial_(Italiano)
But this isn't enough, many players want a translated game in their mother language.
So, following Facebooks, linux, and other open-source programs example, we would like you to give us the chance to translate the game in our mother language, for free.
This would be only a gain for you, with a boom in registration in short periods of time (unless you don't like money). We kindly bring this to your attention,

dall'inizio della V1 (ottobre 2008) abbiamo visto un incremento esponenziale dell'utenza. In particolare quella USA e UK (oltre i 100 nuovi utenti giornalieri).
Gli altri paesi (italia, francia, spagna) è già tanto se arrivano a 20.
Noi italiani crediamo sia anche colpa di un fattore di traduzione, non a caso abbiamo tradotto in italiano l'intera Wiki di Erepublik http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Tutorial_(Italiano)
Però questo non basta, molti utenti vogliono un gioco tradotto nella propria lingua madre.
Per questo, seguendo l'esempio di facebook, di tanti programmi linux (e/o open-source), vogliamo chiedervi di fornirci la possibilità di tradurre il gioco nella nostra lingua madre da volontari.
Ciò si tradurrebbe in un guadagno per voi, con notevoli iscrizioni nel breve periodo (a meno che non disdegnate il denaro).
Cortesemente portiamo questo alla vostra attenzione.

Fatto... ci vorrebbe proprio, per i niubbetti come me non è facile iniziare, ma è facile abbandonare subito perchè non ci sono i giusti stimoli... una versione italiana potrebbe far scoprire prima le varie opzioni di questo gioco e non lasciare subito!!!

Well, the simulation is flawed from the beginning.
It is not just the fact the English users have a advantage. The simulation is actually good to learn English.
The problems that can be found in Erepublik are simple:
The need to make money, led to the transformation of this game into a RISK like game.
As a social experiment, Erepublik is on the verge of becoming a failed one.
As a wargame it is worse than Risk.
The administration of the company that runs the project wanted to create a virtual world, but wanted it to be a strategy game at a world scale.
The success in the simulation model is based on points and to get them you need to go to war.
When one puts 16 year olds in charge of a nation, what would one expect ?
If two 8 year olds dispute the same toy, if they have the possibility of killing the other kid to get the toy, have no doubt, they will kill the other kid.
That’s why kids need an education, and sometimes a slap or two in the face.
Erepublik, gives a 10 year old, the possibility to play as a grown up. To get elected and to be president.
Also, you can get the votes of the other 10 year olds, explaining that «we must go to war with France, well… uhh, because»
And that is enough to get elected.
People can’t complain about something that was obvious.
When you get four bullies playing. They will acts as all bullies act. They will attack the nearest small kid, using fear and coercion.
That’s why Erepublik is inevitably going to Die.
The idea that no one dies in Erepublik is JUST PLAIN STUPID.
If people end up realizing that the game is rigged, then they will just go away.
The invasion of other countries, actually will end up KILLING the users, because most of us get fed up with silly tricks, which the admins can’t OR ARE UNWILLING TO solve, because after all, wars do make money.
And I am not talking about e-money or e-gold. I am talking about Euros REAL Euros €€€

Hmmm. I have reason not to vote but the second page in Italian is a very nice touch. But with pesismists like Ataulfo no wonder everyone is saying Erepublik will fail! Where is the enthusiasm!?
With a little bit of a positive outlook, many problems can be solved.

To be honest I think Ataulfo IS right. Many I think see it - but they usually leave the game when they realise it.

Pardon me, I didn’t want to demoralize people. But I was told Erepublik was a political simulation, where there are business, you can get a job, enter a party and so on an so forth.
I got interested and got in, apparently when a War was being prepared. I tried to realize the reasons for such war, and then understood that the people in charge to go to War, were kids. 10 and 16 yer old kids
(Yesterday, Finland declared war to Sweden, because the president mistakenly pressed a button. Fortunatelly in that case it was a mistake, of course and was explained)
Then I started looking at the reasons for the war, and found out that Spain declared war to Portugal for reasons, than in any court of law would be considered xenophobic.
The Spaniards attacked a feeble country, and then, eUSA. eBritain. eCanada and eSweden, nations with high moral values, decided to hit and squash a body, when it is already in the floor.
If Erepublik wanted to be a serious and at the same time fun simulation, then something should have been done to prevent irresponsibility. The borders used by eRepublik, are national borders of sovereign nations. An insult to the nationals of those countries, is something serious.
In the real life, even if the United States disliked France and were their enemies, they wouldn’t dare attack the French, because they have this little French
“thingie” which they call “Force de Frappe”, and which can actually ONLY kill 75% of the population of the United States.
If a nuclear holocaust was possible in e-Republik, do you think that the kids that started declaring wars and bullying the others, would attack ?
My answer is simple: YES they would. If no one can get killed, then why not start a Global Thermonuclear War after all.

Dude, I understand your frustration, but the guys that rule USA, Sweden, Britain, Romania and many other countries are not children, are adult and mature persons.
The problem here is that you do not know the history behind everything. I know every country in RL is a sovereign country with borders etc. but this is not RL. This is a simulator and it said at the beginning of the game "re-make history", that means we can do as we want, IF we can do it and really want it.
What you are witnessing is a demonstration of power (which lasted for a while now) between the 2 great forces of the world ATLANTIS and PEACE.
I understand your problem, so do ask an older player to fill you in on the history of today events.

If the data available in the Wiki is wrong , please change it.
But anyway, the main problem is not the age of the usere. The eUSA or any other e-nation could even be rulled by a 10 year old. The problem is the responsibility, and the accountability.

There is no demonstration of force, when six fat kids spank a flimsy one.
What you are seeing is the worst in human nature. The capacity people have to become bullies. I have studied the evolution of relations between e-nations and noted that as things progressed, War appeared as a necessity.
And war is promoted, because the model rewards violent people
The problem are not the kids, the problem is the model in which a simulation such as this is based.
Besides Erepublik is based on the REAL LIFE and on REAL countries. Otherwise, instead of real countries you would have invented nations, like Tsarotipotia, Stranglitia Cachuchia or some other stupid name.
You would avoid much of the xenophobic crap we have seen all over.
When you say that you are going to kill all citizens of Stranglitia, I don’t give a dam. If you say you are going to demonstrate force and smash France, Many will take that as an insult !
And I am sorry, I am one of them even if I am not a Frenchmen.

I'm 16 btw and I take this game seriously as flying f**k. Unlike many other kids who register on the first glimpse of the site and fiddle faddle with the modules. If somebody wants war from a country it must be rational enough to start (Such as a disagreement between two countries for economic, land expansion or dominance of another alliance; shown in this recent war against France.)
I do sympathize for those who like watching the virtual world counterpart of a real world being dominated by another group.
Before anymore world wars break out they need to shut down eR to fix the modules and the such. There are too many bugs to be playing a game that would piss of one another for unfairness.
