One Year in this Place

Day 2,346, 20:25 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

A look at my profile will show a birthday of July 26th, 2009. However, I shut my account down in early 2010. I was slightly more active than a 2 clicker, but not heavily involved in irc or the inner workings of my party. So when the PEACE invasion was evicted I lost interest. I gave all my money, items, and Gold to Astra Kat G, then I logged out for what I thought would be the last time. I was fairly certain that I was mouldering in my e-grave until I received an email from Plato about a gold mine.

Intrigued, I logged in and discovered I wasn't dead. My profile also was loaded with bazookas and energy bars. As those were not around the last time I played this game it was a bit of a trip. Hitting for 10k a pop and being able to do it more than 10 times without the use of a hospital was amazing. I used those bazookas to win a bh. As I was unaware the advent of divisions had occurred I was extremely impressed and more than a little confused.

After a few days I joined the Federalist Party. I also changed my avatar. Along with it I changed the name and theme of my newspaper. I made a deliberate effort to have more fun in erep this time around. Looking back over this last year I've done that for the most part. I was welcomed in by the Fed community, and have really never looked back. The Feds often will say they're a newb centric meritocracy. I can't speak for everyone, but in my experience that's what they are. I returned to a very different game, and was offered many opportunities to work in the Party. My work was recognized and I was given a Congress seat. I continued to work, and before I knew it I was Party President.

After that I began to work in ATO on the national stage. It's been a privilege to be a small part of the effort that's whittled the AFA down to the 7th Party. I've made a lot of friends, and unfortunately a few enemies here and there. In my newb enthusiasm I've stepped on some toes, and made some mistakes. I would like to thank the community of the Feds, the eUSA community, and so many individuals for giving me a reason to log in every day. I never would have imagined coming as far as I have in this last year when idle curiosity about a gold mine pushed me to log into a game I'd virtually forgotten. It's not my intention to bore you with a play by play account of the last year in erep. In short it's been an Excellent Adventure here in erep over this year, and I plan to enjoy the Journey into the foreseeable future even if it gets a little Bogus every now and then. Here's to another year of eRepublik!
