On The Leak

It appears as if evidence has been brought forward implicating Leo Balzac in the dissemination of classified material from Closed Door Congress.

While my job as Speaker of the House does afford me certain latitude when it comes to upholding some form of justice within the halls of Congress, the current set of "tools" at my disposal also makes my job in doing so quite difficult.

For instance, "illegal proposals" (as in, do not follow the rules of Congress as per the Congressional Rules of Order) can be punished on the forum but if you don't go on the forum then you are quite simply above the law.

Another example is the leaking information from CDC by a Cabinet member. Since I have no control over that "Forum Group" there is quite simply nothing I can do.

While the issue I write about today is not the same as either of those examples, it is quite close.

Using the following screenshots (if you ignore the source of the first one) it is quite clear that this is as close to an open and shut case as you can get in this environment, and I know a little something about open and shut cases.

You'll note that the URL of the screenshot is that same as the one that was passed around the eUK, and was later shared in eCanada. If you haven't seen it, here it is:

All things being equal we can lay the blame for the leak at the feet of Leo Balzac. I think it's safe to say we can all agree on that.

Sadly this leads to another question. What do you we do now?

Although he is two-clicking in the eUK now, there is nothing stopping him from getting eCanadian citizenship tomorrow and running for Congress on the 25th. If he won a seat he would legally and rightfully get Congress masking which would allow him full access once again to confidential forums from which he leaked that information.

As Speaker I could theoretically remove his mask at 7 day intervals until such time as he was no longer a member of Congress in game, but that's a lot of red tape even for me. Conversely, if the next Speaker is more lenient than I, and odds are they will be, they could simply give him back his masking and act as if the whole thing didn't happen at all.

While I do admit to there being egg on the face of the MDP since he was a member of our party and had access to the forum do to his PP group masking, I think we should look at the big picture and finally do something about how we do business on the forums.

As such I will be making a proposal in Congress for what surmounts to a "No Fly List" when it comes to Congress candidature. Those people who are found by a preponderance of the evidence to have subvert and compromise eCanada will be added to said list, and should not under any circumstances be allowed to run for Congress, and if they do should be moved to the bottom of the ballot to minimize their chance of winning.

We have 3 days until the ballots locked, it's my intention to have these measures in place, with all of the punishments and details finalized by that time.
