Redcoats Invaded, Sol Stands Strong

To the ecstatic joy of many eAmericans, Poland attacked the native English region of the South East of England yesterday. While the attack was not successful, it drained approximately 2 million points of Phoenix firepower from other EDEN-Phoenix battle fronts. The attack came at a steep cost--a host of MPPs activated against Poland--so it's safe to assume that they will attack again in order to maximize the potential benefit to such a risk. Fortunately for EDEN, Spain owns every French region bordering the UK, allowing them to play gate-keeper. They allow Poland to attack the UK, but they also allow the Poles to retreat before the UK can counter-attack. While the United States has not actively gotten involved in the the Polish-UK showdown, rest assured that the US leadership is watching the situation closely.

In other news, Sol has announced the expulsion of Pakistan from their alliance. A historically neutral alliance in the EDEN v Phoenix war, Sol found Pakistan's recent collusion in the construction of a Serbian land bridge to western Asia unacceptable. Sol's Chariman, Neurath, writes, "I ask all Sol nations to please divest themselves of any relations with Pakistan. Let them know that this attack on our freedoms is neither acceptable or sustainable." While we are sure that Sol made their decision without any concern for the US, we applaud the alliance's diligence in maintaining the integrity of their alliance. Perhaps other nations will now reconsider before caving to Phoenix's demands.

Community Development Program

Interior Secretary of Citizen Affairs Maxx Johnson has begun a truly admirable and worthwhile project: the Community Development Program. Behind the vanilla name is the solution to a profound issue facing eUS citizen retention, namely that we lose countless players because they don't join the eUS community. Put briefly, American players quit because they don't make friends. The Community Development Program aims to fix that by helping players make friends and integrate into the eUS community. All the talk of creating a baby boom focuses on attracting new players, but few people realize that we can create a baby boom by merely retaing more of the players we already attract.
