Josh Frost has been chosen by the citizens of the United States to be the next President. He carried 57.23% of the votes, a total of 2,624 votes. The new President has already begun to establish a government (see item 3) and carry out the tasks necessary for a functioning nation. A Word From the Previous Secretary of Media

I've been writing articles about eUSA and foreign policy ever since Uncle Sam was President, and I started my newspaper, Freedom & Responsibility because I felt that our country needed to get better in its relationships with other nations and information about game mechanics needed to be shared with new players so they could make the most of their eRepublik experience and eUSA could grow stronger. For a while, it was one of the fastest-growing papers in eUSA and, with that as my resume, after Claire Littleton resigned as our first White House Press Secretary, I was happy to fill her shoes when President scrabman asked me to do it. The Briefing Room soon got its first 1000 subscribers and I've been eUSA's Secretary of Media for the last 5-1/2 administrations and 4 Presidents. Each administration has been different, and I've learned a little bit from each of our Presidents and Cabinets. It has been a great experience serving as your Secretary of Media for longer than anyone has ever been President! Today we have a new President, Josh Frost and I wish him great success in his Presidency and for eUSA. Along with our new President, we also have a new Secretary of Media. As I step out of the James S. Brady Press Room, I hope you will all join me in welcoming your new SoM: Rheinlander von Phalz.

Although I will no longer be writing the White House Press Releases, stay subscribed and keep reading to stay informed of the latest information coming directly from the eWhite House. Now that my pen hand is a little more free, after doing it for The Briefing Room, I have to work on getting my own media mogul medal now! And Rhode Island, I'll be doing what I did when I first became the White House Press Secretary as I return to run as your senator this month! Although I vacate this spot today for a new SoM, I'm still at the service of eUSA as I remind you all to remember to have fun and enjoy another day in eRepublik!

Now let's hear it for your new SoM, Rheinlander von Phalz!

War Update – Slovakia

Hungary has invaded and occupied all four regions of the unaligned nation of Slovakia. The move has drawn international scorn upon Hungary, and President Frost called the invasion “a cowardly act of aggression against a weaker country.” Poland is currently fighting to reclaim one of the lost territories, as is a resistance war.

War Update – Alaska

We are fighting back against the Russians, who contributed to the wider PEACE offensive against Finland, Greece, and Croatia, by attempting to reclaim Alaska. Residents are currently advised to fight against PEACE forces here and to stay tuned to DoD Orders for later instruction.

Department of Defense Orders

Sometime between the liberation of Nunavut from Hungary and the offensive against Hungarian-occupied Alaska, the Department of Defense organization was compromised. The United States government is still not in control of that organization. The individuals who took over the organization published orders conflicting with the strategy of the United States. These orders were signed with Harlot’s and Kyle321n’s names but were not composed by either.

The newspaper attached to the Department of Defense, in which the orders were published, has been moved. The paper is now attached to the Department of Citizen Orders, which is under the control of the United States government. Orders from the DoD in the paper attached to the Department of Citizen Orders are considered secure. Citizens should subscribe to those orders, although the transfer of the newspaper did not interfere with existing subscribers.
