Today, Shadowukcs, Secretary-General of ATLANTIS, officially recognized the long accepted fact; ATLANTIS is dead. As such, the United States has declared official neutrality in the international scene. We will not and are not identified with any alliance and this shall remain as such for the immediate future.

The current administration is steadfast in it's beliefs that entering into a new alliance, in such a chaos-filled time, would be a mistake. The amount of disinformation flowing around is incredible. No one can accurately determine what is misinformation and what is legitimate intel. Therefore, we are choosing to remain neutral and experience a short period of military isolationism for many reasons. They encompass:

We need to refuel. If we needed to, we could certainly wage war right now. We could wage war many times over. Do not fret and think the USA is poor, because we are not. However, we always have a strategic reserve that we won't want to tap into. Therefore, to successfully fight in the future, we would ideally not use emergency funds and use other funds. To keep this process ongoing, we need to stockpile everything - mainly gold - for future battles. Again, while the USA is not poor, we're also not rich, and tapping into strategic reserves when we don't need to is a bad method of gameplay.

We feel safe. PEACE could, at any point, attack the United States. That much is true. However, on the backing of many MPP's and lots of stockpiled gold, we feel that even PEACE's cheats and exploits could not result in a major offensive versus America.

We need an alliance founded on stability. To form an alliance just because we feel we "need one to protect ourselves" (see previous point) is faulty logic and only leads to an ineffective alliance. When the international political climate is more stable, and we can begin into serious and mature discussions with like-minded nations, the United States should and will enter into alliance negotiations. Until that point, neutrality is the only route that can ensure the previous points to be fulfilled and progress to be made. To found an alliance based on an illegitimate fear of PEACE would wreak havoc and, in the end, produce much worse results than ATLANTIS did.

The United States wishes it's many allies, among them Sweden (many seem to forget Sweden's generous 1500 gold loan offer when the USA needed it most...), Spain, the UK, Canada, Croatia, and many, many other nations one thing:good luck. Ireland, while neutral like us now, has become a great ally and one we look to move forward with as bretheren.

Goodbye to ATLANTIS, hello to a new world.
