Sup America, its your favorite spam messenger, come once again to deliver you the delicious fruits of my labor.
Now, I've noticed a trend in each and every month I do this poll. Despite the fact that I increased my efforts from this month from last(last month I sent around 4000 pm's, and this month I sent 5500), I received about 20 less answers than last month. Similar events occurred when I published this poll a few months ago before I quit as well. Honestly, I'm at a loss when it comes to this. There really only seems to be 2 explanations for this:
1: An impossibly huge portion of America ignores my message(it has a 7% response rate this month), or
2: No one plays this game anymore
I think this speaks wonders for player retention. If we assume just as many people who responded to my poll, did not, then we are still only left with a 14% player retention for our country. Things like this do not spell good fortune for our eNation.
(Some of the answers on the pictures don't come through all the way, so I will present the numbers below the graph as well as the picture. If you wish to check the numbers yourself, I will include a link at the bottom to all of the data.)
First off, I asked the very same fucking question I have asked in literally every single poll. "How did you come to eRepublik?"

Through an ad 153 (40%)
Through a referral 152 (39%)
Through a review of the game 80 (21%)
Compared to last month, the number of those who came through referrals saw a 6% decrease this time around. That means you need to start referring more people to this game. Yeah, you. Also, I've still yet to see a fucking review of this game. If anyone actually has one, please send me the link.
Next, I asked you, "How often do you fight each day?"

Less than 10 44 (11%)
10-20 72 (19%)
20-30 64 (17%)
30-40 36 (9%)
40-50 29 (8%)
Over 50 140 (36%)
The big winner for this question is Over 50, which I suppose is a decent number, though I have no clue how this would stack up in other countries. It would be pretty nice if some other players from around the world were interested in doing something like this in their country, which would actually get me some real numbers to compare to. If some other person is already doing something like this, please let me know in a pm, I would really like to get in contact with them
Next, I asked, "How many companies do you own?"

4 64 (17%)
5-9 121 (31%)
9-15 113 (29%)
16 or more 87 (23%)
As it seems, most citizens in the country are not self sufficient, though I'm not entirely sure what qualifies for self sufficient nowadays. What is interesting though, are the 17% who have decided not to buy a single company, either with USD, or gold.
Next is, "What quality weapons do you produce on your own?"

I don't produce any weapons 61 (16%)
Q1 86 (22%)
Q2 107 (28%)
Q3 65 (17%)
Q4 14 (4%)
Q5 52 (14%)
Well, it seems that most people dont pay for gold

Next I asked, "Do you save the Energy Bars and Bazookas you get?"

Yes 208 (54%)
No 78 (20%)
No, I only save the Bars 76 (20%)
No, I only save the Bazookas 23 (6%)
I really can't stress the importance of saving both of these enough. The burst damage they can do tips the balance of important battles, instead of being wasted on a fight that is already lost, or already won.
Next, "Are you part of a Military Unit?"

Yes 358 (93%)
No 27 (7%)
The vast majority of those who answered this poll are part of a military unit, which is a relaxing fact. Like I stated in the above question, the extra Energy Bar and Bazooka you get from fighting help out a great deal. I would implore anyone who isnt part of a MU yet to please join one as soon as you can. The extra 30k you would receive can help us repel those ONE heathens.
Next, in a more political direction, I asked, "How would you rate Alexander Auctoritas' term this month?"

Great 33 (9%)
Above average 70 (18%)
Average 96 (25%)
Below average 29 (8%)
Poor 25 (6%)
I don't know enough of what has happened this month to form an opinion 132 (34%)
From this month to last, there was a pretty steep drop in A^2's popularity this month. Last month however, I didn't include an "I don't know what the fuck is going on" option though, but nonetheless, those who thought he had a "Great" or "Above Average" dropped pretty heavily.
This next questions had a response that I wasn't really expecting. I asked, "Do you believe we should be focusing more on defending our home regions than using our damage for our allies?"

Yes, if we are under invasion, we should defend ourselves first 220(57%)
No, we have regions to spare, so we should help our allies 150 (39%)
I didn't even know we were being invaded 15 (4%)
A lot of newer players might see that we are under invasion and vote this way, but I really didnt think that there would be this much support for it. Guys, the eUSA has the equivalent of a metric fuckton of regions. We can lose many, many regions before things actually get desperate.
Next, "What is your opinion of the PTO(political take over) of the Conservative Party?"

I support it, as Pizza the Hut is a threat to our country 172(45%)
I do not support it, as it was just an attempt to keep the current regime in power 63 (16%)
I don't care either way 150 (39%)
It seems that Ajay doesn't have that huge of an active fanbase. Who would have guessed?
Next, continuing the monthly trend of the Ajay Bruno opinion poll, I asked, "What is your opinion of Pizza the Hut?"

Very Favorable 10 (3%)
Favorable 28 (7%)
Neutral/Unfamiliar 115 (30%)
Unfavorable 74 (19%)
Very Unfavorable 158 (41%)
Ajay's approval rating dropped by about 1% this month, though the recent action against his party seems to have convinced many others to lower their opinion of him, as his "Very Unfavorable" rating from last month stood at a 29%, while this month it stands at 41%
For my final question, I asked, "Do you prefer the World Wide Whitehead internet radio show, or the eNPR internet radio show?"

I don't know what either of those are 226 (59%)
I've listened once or twice, but I don't really care enough to have an opinon 90 (23%)
World Wide Whitehead 23 (6%)
eNPR 46 (12%)
During eNPR last Monday, Civil and Oblige asked me to include this question just to see which is the true "most popular show," so I obliged them. Did you all see that? Im so fucking witty. Anyway, it seems that eNPR is twice as popular as WWW, but like I said when they asked me, almost everyone wouldnt even know what the fuck these shows were.
I would like to thank you for reading this very tl;dr article. As it was with last month, I would appreciate any comments, praise, or criticism you can give me, as they will help me improve the poll for the next month.

Good job. That was interesting.
"A lot of newer players might see that we are under invasion and vote this way, but I really didnt think that there would be this much support for it. Guys, the eUSA has the equivalent of a metric fuckton of regions. We can lose many, many regions before things actually get desperate."
However, the fact that we lost the resources we had held and are cut off our Aluminum regions is a major bust to our national output.
Nice article btw.
Amazing how I am more unpopular after being victimized. 45% of Americans who support stealing from other Americans are a disgrace.

Great article. Voted.
Btw I got my PM containing the link to the survey on election day. This might be the reason for the poor turn out: people may just have been too preoccupied to complete it. Perhaps you should send out the majority of PMs on a day were no elections are taking place. That way you're bound to generate more interest. On election days people expect there inbox to swell with electioneering propaganda, most of which they ignore, its possible this is what people mistook your PM for.
Again: interesting article, keep up the good work!
Great work mister.
Make a raffle of some sort for answering the questionnaire. I think it'll increase responses a crap ton.
Great article.
There was a raffle mentioned in the original PM and in the survey itself. The Department of the Interior sent out 150 total weapons to randomly selected respondents!
Awesome job O7
SNEAK PREVIEW of a NEW MOVIE! Vote it & Shout it!!! http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/liar-liar-2-starring-gnilraps--1892476/1/20
Nice poll.
I am the one of those that thinks we should defend our regions first. We might have tons of regions bu we have lousy number of resources.
Smart administration would focus on getting resources from weak countries like Mexico and then we could wage a war against ONE and it's puppets.
V good work
Voted. I only save the Bars, because I don't have endless weapons to substitute the bazookas for all my fights.
Is there another way to save the bazooka?
Very good article
@Mister Y: You can save the bazooka by swapping it with another weapon. If you have the parts for a bazooka don't assemble it until you want to use it.
Good article, I enjoyed reading :]
Good work!
> the eUSA has the equivalent of a metric fuckton of regions
I actually checked the math on that part and it's exactly correct.
1: An impossibly huge portion of America ignores my message(it has a 7% response rate this month), or
2: No one plays this game anymore
You forgot the third possibility:
There are only 400 non-multis on your mailing list.
Archfeldspar
A lot of work, some observations below:
1. V1 had an ecomony module that worked, hence it was more interesting and nubes could compete back then, hence less player retention.
2. Fights: < 10 = 44; > 50 = 140, in the responses only; reality 70% kill < 10 average/day.
3. Not surprising people don't own companies...the payback period is way too long.
4. Fighing for your allies vs. defending your homeland (NB: you are correct that admin gave the eUSA way too many regions to twitter/fritter away); It's one thing to defend your allies and other to work their conquests for them whilst giving up your own ecitizens and the +PRODUCTION that goes with your regions. You have been influenced by deep moles in my opinion and your leaders have become myopic and can no longer see the forest for the trees.
"What quality weapons do you produce on your own?"
I have a Q1 and Q3 but you only allow for us to answer to one of them, perhaps you could make it so multiple answers can be selected.
"I support it, as Pizza the Hut is a threat to our country 172(45%)"
