November Congress Election

Day 2,193, 01:17 Published in Canada Serbia by Sally Willis

Congress election time is here again, and it'll soon be time to choose where to cast your vote. The Canadian Progressive Front is one of the largest eCanadian parties, which regularly sends the largest contingent of members to Congress. What do we do there? Well, our aims are simple:

> Keep a positive political sphere, where citizens and Congress men and women can express their concerns, ideas and suggestions freely.

> Ensure that Canada is a selfless ally, continues to build relations with other nations, and is ready for any military action.

> Hold our government accountable in all spending aspects, and that we remain financially stable.

> Create helpful programs for Canadians who require food and weapons for fighting, while retaining new players in this game.

> Have some fun, write different articles, hold contests, create events or whatevers!

On its own, those 5 bullet points should enough to convince you that your vote is safe in CPF hands.

Some parties might as well use this image as their campaign poster.

The current Congress began in a scandal, with allegations of vote-rigging and other gerrymandering shenanigans. Throughout the angry debate, the CPF's members stuck to the serious business of governance, working -- often behind the scenes -- to support and/or to keep in check the executive branch in matters of foreign policy and budget.

I'm running again hoping to secure a third term as a congresswoman for eCanada. If I am fortunate enough to be elected, I will continue to work hard supporting the CPF's primary tenets (as above), but also to challenge the status quo wherever I see the scope or the need for change. I do not believe that we should overlook the fact that CPF includes the wor😛 Progressive.

I'm not a bulldozer. I'm not a pig-headed radical intent on tearing down everything just because I want things to be different. I am, though, a challenger. A fresh pair of eyes that look at everything. An open, inquiring mind that asks questions, most often: does it really have to be done this way?

Since the Circle of Trust alliance imploded, eCanada has become an independent neutral and we have to choose our allies carefully. We currently run around ten Mutual Protection Pacts which cost the treasury Canadian $100,000 per month to maintain. If that sounds like a lot, it is. Our tax revenue is about the same amount. Other expenditure liked funding MUs and combat orders is funded from the rental paid by the eDutch and eSwiss who rent our 4 western provinces. If elected I want to raise the issue of MPPs early in the session. To seek a consensus on a maximum number of MPPs and force the Executive to accept Congress's decision. What might that number be? I would argue for no more than 8, because I believe we will soon be at war again, and not necessarily with one of the usual suspects.

The game is changing. That's good, it makes things interesting. But the changes mean that our political activity has to change to meet the challenges forced upon us by those changes. Which eRepublic nation will attempt to gain Empire status at our expense? The new Resistance Hero badge is encouraging rogue elements to break our Non-Aggression Pact with eSpain. Will we let that happen? Not on the CPF's watch.

Vote CPF on Monday. It's the only sane vote if you value a secure eCanada that nevertheless still has plenty of punch for its size.
