NEWBIES INTERESTED IN THE MILITARY READ THIS!!!
Welcome to eRepublik new players, I am pantherthug89 the Deputy Commander of Sol and Second in Command of an elite deployable unit called SolDiers. Many of you probably have no idea what the outlook of this New World is militarily so let me give you a brief description of what is going on right now militarily in this game and how the military module works in a brief way.
This new World is compromised of two major aggressive alliances (EDEN and PHOENIX and one defensive and independent alliance (Sol). EDEN and PHOENIX have been at each others throat merely months after the game started. After several invasions including one that almost eliminated the United States entirely. As of to date EDEN is now on the offensive which is somewhat unusual as usually PHOENIX in the past was the one to start up many invasions. This new large scale invasion is set to “free” Asia and topple the main “pillars” or nations of PHOENIX which are Hungary, Serbia, Indonesia, and Iran. After past and present campaigns, both Iran and Indonesia have been predominantly weakened. With successful assaults by EDEN on their regions containing Iron the most important resource in the game, their once booming economies have lowered and their militaristic output has dropped because of it. The fronts of these offensives are very widespread with an invasion of Turkey (PHOENIX) by Greece (EDEN), the United States pushing into Asia to put back many PHOENIX controlled iron regions back in their owner’s place, with many of the other theatres winding down or already closed
(The main “pillars” of EDEN would probably be the USA, Poland, Croatia, Romania, and Sweden)
Now that you know what is going on a world stage right now I will now tell you what military strategies are used in this game and how exactly wars and battles operate, this is where it gets really confusing at parts. Wars are started when the president proposes one and the congress votes with a 60% or more voting yes.
Upon a war starting the country that declares war starts with the initiative which is the ability to attack the other belligerent’s region for a full 24 hours. Once those 24 hours passes up without an attack the other nation has the ability to attack as well. If a country wins a battle it has the initiative to attack and the other country does not have the ability to attack for 24 hours or until it defeats the opposition on the battlefield, the winner can immeaditely start a battle within those 24 hours as well.
Once a battle begins it takes place for 24 hours unless the wall is not in either no mans land or underground. In this case the battle goes into overtime at the point where one side holds underground or in the no mans land for one minute the battle is over and if it is above no mans land the defender wins and if it is underground the attacker wins.
Resistance Wars are battles that take place within one nation and can only be made in regions that have been conquered by another nation, these battles give people within that nation a choice to fight for the resistance or defenders, if the resistance is victorious the region is immeaditely returned to its original country.
Mutual Protection Pacts are another large aspect of the game involved in war. In these agreements signed between two countries politically, if one of the nations is attacked or even both the opposite nation will be able to fight for them from their homeland.
Pacts cost 100 gold for both nations. All of Mutual Protection Pacts last one month and are removed from the war the next battle after the pact expires. They are also only activated if a nation attacks an original region of a nation you have signed a pact with all colonies acquired militarily are excluded Another major aspect to wars especially to Malaysia is training wars, these wars are made to increase activity and strength within a nation by intentionally having a friendly nation attack your nation with your nation having multiple friendly Mutual Protection Pacts to increase the strength of multiple nations.
Next is how wars and battles work for the individual. Hospitals are built by the government which allows citizens to regain their wellness after fighting, Quality one hospitals increase your health 10 wellness, Quality two 20 wellness, etc up to 5. You always want to be in a region with a quality five hospital. Once you are at that battle screen there should be a large button that says fight, when you click that button your damage is either added to the wall if you fight for the defender or subtracted from the wall if you are the attacker.
Your total damage in your lifetime builds up to your “in game rank” that increases the amount of damage you deal once you reach certain numbers of total damage in your lifetime. Same also goes for strength, which is why it is important to train every single day regardless if you only use standard training. Weapons also can increase your damage by certain percentiles depending on what quality you buy. When you fight make sure you never fight lower than 40 wellness and make sure you are in a Quality five Hospital region and remember you can only gain the wellness you started at before fighting so the only way to gain wellness is through food or gifts.
I know this is a lot to take in but this is a simple overview of the military module on this game lastly I am going to tell you about Malaysia’s personal military situation. As a nation we are heavily heavily defended by Mutual Protection Pacts by other nations because of the training war we have with our friends in the Philippines. We are also a member of the alliance called Sol which as stated above is a defensive alliance not as large or militarily mind set as EDEN and PHOENIX despite our willingness to defend each other. Our private organized military is currently in reform and needs people like you to join its ranks. Country militaries have intentions of organizing and handing out weapons as well as trying to center damage at specific times especially toward the end of the battle. Our nation has great potential especially with new comers such as you coming in. Who knows maybe you’ll become the next great General of Malaysia.
In order to make this article somewhat bearable I really stripped it down to the essentials and there are still several more aspects that you will learn in the future but are quite much harder to explain in simply an article
